"I called a week prior to schedule the appointment and they were very responsive. We set the appointment for the following week at 10 am. On cleaning day, they arrived at 9:25, which was fine because I was home. Although the two men were professional, I would not describe them as friendly. The first thing he asked me was how much he had quoted me. He later honored the original price that I showed him from my text message. Once they got started, I noticed that they did things differently than the previous company that I had used. They didn't pre-vacuum and their equipment seemed older. They also didn't take my sectional apart or move it to clean the fabric in between. He showed me some of the stains that they couldn't get out but I later noticed that they never even cleaned the back part of the sectional at all nor did they clean all sides of the cushions -- I cleaned them myself. Because they didn't take the sectional apart and move it, they didn't clean the carpet in those areas either. The rest of the carpet appeared clean and they removed one small stain that I was concerned about but the carpet was completely soaked. Also, they didn't rake the carpet so that it looked new. I would not use them again and I would not recommend them to any of my friends."

"I contacted Danny on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 about installing carpet that I would supply. He and an associate came out the same day to provide an estimate and determine if I had enough carpet to install in a 10x11 bedroom. I had several rolls of carpet/padding in my van that Danny and his associate carried into my home. The installation date was 2 days later. They arrived on time. Before the work began I asked whether my cables would be removed from the wall and Danny said he would do his best not to disturb the wiring. The old carpet /padding was removed and hauled away, new carpet/padding was installed/vacuumed, and the furniture was moved back into the room all in about one and one half hours. I appreciate that he texted me prior to each appointment to let me know he was on his way. The finished product looks amazing at a reasonable price (with my cable wiring intact). I highly recommend Danny and his company which provided 5 star customer service. I will contact him again on my next carpet replacement."

"I couldn't be happier with the carpet cleaning service! The team was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient from start to finish. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and did an amazing job bringing our carpets back to life. The pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work. They were able to refresh areas I wasn't sure would ever look this good again. The carpets look and smell fantastic, and the whole house feels cleaner and brighter. If you're looking for a reliable, affordable carpet cleaning company that delivers excellent results, I highly recommend them. We will definitely be using their services again!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.

It is normal to glue carpet down, though it’s not the only or the most popular method of installing carpet. Modern techniques include tack strips and stretching the carpet, but you might still find glued carpet in older homes or a home with a DIY’d past. Removing a glued-down carpet will be harder compared to other methods of installation.

Avoid plush, high-pile, or thick carpets on your stairs because they can increase the risk of slipping and wear down quickly in busy homes. Also, ensure the carpet you install is stain-resistant, particularly if you select a light color.

While it is possible to install carpet yourself, it is a challenging DIY project that requires precise measurement, proper cutting skills, and knowledge of correct installation techniques. The process involves multiple steps, including removing old flooring, installing underlayment and tack strips, and stretching the carpet to prevent wrinkles, which can take several days to complete.

Before starting, consider these factors:

  • Warranty: Many manufacturers' warranties are voided if the carpet is not installed by a professional.

  • Tools: You will need to buy or rent specialized equipment like a knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller.

  • Complexity: DIY installation is most suitable for simple, straightforward rooms. Projects involving stairs or floor vents are significantly more difficult.

  • Cost: While you can save on labor, the cost of tools plus the risk of expensive mistakes—which may require re-installation—can make hiring a professional more cost-effective in the long run.

Given the potential for errors, voided warranties, and the need for special tools, hiring a local carpet installer is often recommended to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.

While not always required, experts recommend removing baseboards before removing old carpet and installing a new one. This practice leads to a smoother process and a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. Removing the baseboards allows for a seamless carpet installation without the risk of damaging either the carpet or the trim. It also provides a good opportunity to repaint or stain the baseboards and inspect the underlying wall for any issues. If you prefer a quicker option, you can carefully cut the old carpet along the edge of the baseboards, but this may result in a less polished installation for the new carpet.
