"Once again Ballard did a great job. The tree was next to a split rail fence and a shed. The guys brought it down carefully a piece at a time. They worked extremely efficiently and cleaned up great when done. Will absolutely use again. Thanks Ballard."

"They did an excellent job. The workers were on time, very professional, thorough, and cleaned up after themselves. They were also very knowledgeable on the different types of trees and the best way to trim them."

"Very friendly estimator, listened to what I wanted done and explained about their insurances and worker's comp payments. Treescape was the first and only company to respond to my HomeAdvisor/Angi inquiry which surprised me. Their price seemed fair to me (and I always underestimate what projects will cost). The work crew arrived on time even though it was a hellishly hot day. Very carefully took down one tree which was between my deck and fence and trimmed back another one about 50%. Excellent clean up, very satisfied and would definitely hire them again. My neighbor had them come out a week later to take down a tree for him."

Customers say: Quick response

"Carlos came prepared to work on the initial estimate visit to my home. Within 3 hours at my home the tree was removed and the sizable stump was grinded up. He was prompt with taking away the brush and cleaning up behind himself. I would strongly recommend him."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Cutting down a tree next to power lines is never a DIY job, and it’s a good idea to contact your utility company first. In most cases, the utility company will need to take care of any tree problems within 10 to 15 feet of power lines. If you want to remove the tree for aesthetic reasons, hire a pro to do the job. Trying to cut trees near power lines yourself can create many safety hazards, and you could be liable if you inadvertently cause damage to electrical equipment.

Trees are beneficial to the environment and wildlife. If you have an old tree, but it’s healthy, it may be best to avoid cutting it down. However, if it’s showing signs of bug infestation, disease, or is potentially hazardous, then you should contact a tree removal company to cut it down.

If you are unsure whether you should have it removed or not, then speak with an arborist to determine what is best.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

Most tree removals take 3-8 hours, requiring additional time for stump grinding or debris hauling.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
