Recent experience not good - tree over-pruned by work crew and not what I had discussed with arborist. (Even my husband who rarely comments on landscaping, was "wow that tree looks bad.") Despite my asking that the arborist stop by again to look at the tree and discuss it before we paid the full charge, the company charged my credit card in full. When I called, the owner/manager was defensive and unwilling to take any accountability for the quality or in any way adjust the price. I am self-employed and would never have told an unhappy client "sorry, I did what I think was right and the whole charge is on you." I have used Adirondack before once a few years ago and was satisfied, so was not expecting such poor service. My biggest issue wasn't even the pruning because I think there was an honest misunderstanding but the owner's refusal to come out to the house and look at the work done before charging my credit cart (which they had from the deposit),

It went very well. I have used Adirondack before and was not surprised at the excellent job that they did. They removed the two trees in the back yard, trimmed the third tree in the front yard. They cleaned up all of the debris that fell in my yard. They cleaned up all of the debris that fell in my neighbor’s yard. Then they cleaned up all of the debris that fell in the street in front of my house. I am very pleased with this company. This is the company that virtually al of my community uses.

The crew foreman / climber listened to our concerns about the tree and worked to address them. At the same time they removed a smaller diseased tree (that we had planned to remove ourselves) AND ground the stump for a real bargain ‘add-on’ cost. The crew worked very efficiently and the work met our expectations. The cost was well below other estimates we received.

Unfortunately you only discover the true character of a company when things don’t go well. I wanted to have my trees trimmed prior to getting a new roof. The arborist gave me a quote for 3 trees but when they came out they noticed that one tree had serious issues at the base. When I talked to the arborist he said I knew it was there (I am not an arborist). Then he left 3 very large branches over the roof. He said they were not close enough and he can’t shave the tree. He was so condescending, rude, and arrogant and the owner of the company was even worse. I have to call another company to get another opinion. Having a hollow tree base does not seem like something an arborist would let pass. To keep this short, they are truly awful if you question them. This company is not for me.

These guys are fantastic!!! They took down a huge tree next to my house that had become hazardous, ground down the stump, and did it at a fraction of the price quoted by other tree services that I consulted. (In fact, one of these other tree services recommended them, because they knew that Adirondack could do the job less expensively with the larger equipment that they had.) The workers came first thing in the morning, and were finished by noon. (All staff that I dealt with, both office and onsite, were very professional and courteous.) I would definitely use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone who needs a big job like mine done right and at a reasonable price.

A large dead chestnut oak needed to be removed from our back yard, where it was hanging completely over our house. It was a difficult job as there was no bucket crane access, and limited space to lower big branches or move wood out to the street without damaging either the house or azaleas below. Adirondack's crew did it with no damage at all. At about noon a whole second crew appeared with a bucket crane to trim trees at the front of the house. The whole job including extensive trimming of 3 trees was done by 1:30, including very thorough cleanup. The price was not cheap, but reasonable given the difficulty, and lower than other bids we got. I'm definitely a satisfied customer.

Adironack Tree Experts were great to work with. Their price was about a third of our most expensive bid, and about half of another bid, yet they did a great job. Work performed included: Removed a very large dead oak tree, without removing or damaging a nearby tree that the other companies said would have to be removed. Trimmed three mature trees to remove dead branches and thin - the trees look great now. Removed a dead cherry tree and ground the stump Removed large tree limbs that had fallen in a storm in the woods Cleaned up brush in the woods They were on time, very professional, pleasant to work with, did all this work with minimal damage to our yard, and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. We would definitely hire them in the future, and recommend them to anyone.

A dying maple tree was removed from our front yard with minimal damage to the surrounding landscaping; then, the stump was ground out. The crew also trimmed some limbs from an old beech tree. We were glad it had been done prior to the recent windstorm. The crew was friendly, efficient, and hard-working. The appraiser and the office staff were prompt and friendly. This is the third time we have hired Adirondack Tree Experts and we continue to be impressed with the quality and value of their efforts.

The estimator was knowledgeable, saving a tree from being included in the cut-down list by correcting my misidentification of it. We had a small dispute about what part of what tree was overhanging the house and should be cut back, but that was resolved fairly quickly. Using their “Senior Discount 10%” on the Angie’s List site lowered the price. Ten percent was requested and paid in advance. There was a 1-month wait between the estimate and the cutting. On the scheduled day, the estimator came briefly for a walkthrough with the crew chief. The crew consisted of 12-14 people who worked on two trees at once (when they could) (one either up on the tree or in a bucket truck, one wrapping the rope around the tree and holding it to cushion the falling branches, one spotter, and two or more carrying branches and feeding them into the tree chipper). Two to three truck loads of chips were hauled off. Trunks bigger than several inches in diameter were hauled off by dump trucks. Tree size apparently determines the price. The main cutting was of a large beech tree for $1300, a smaller one for $1100, and 3 sweetgum trees for $1000 each (prices pre-10% discount). The crew started work at 7:30 AM and was done around 2:15 PM. Because the estimator description was packed into a small space, I had to point out to the crew chief something he’d missed reading. The homeowner needs to be onsite to make sure the work is complete. The crew did spot and cut (for free) some dead branches that weren’t on the contract list. They used a leaf blower to blow chips off the stumps and driveway. Even a dry yard will have tracks/ruts from the heavy equipment driving over it. After the crew left, I picked up pieces of beech bark, small branch pieces, and some things the crew left (food and drink containers, orange peels, and bright blue-green chewing gum).

I feared how much it would cost to cut down my dying maple tree. Adirondack gave me such a good quote that included the trunk being ground. They showed up early (which was fine), were extremely professional, and they were done within 30 minutes! I could not believe how quickly they worked.

A lightning strike hit a very large tree in our front yard, breaking it in two, leaving the top hanging down in the lower branches. I called Adirondack right away and they sent someone out the next morning to assess the situation and give me an estimate. It was not an emergency but posed some risk to neighbors if they used their driveway. The crew took it down first thing the following morning using a bucket and other large equipment including a chipper that easily handled the huge trunk. I asked them to take down a small cherry tree that was diseased while they were out, which they did for a very low price. The crew cleaned up pretty well. The price seemed reasonable compared to other tree work I've had done. The foreman was very helpful. I did not have them grind out the stump yet - it is out of the way but if we decided to have it done, I will call Adirondack again. I have used them before to limb and take down a few trees but had to wait a few weeks to get service - probably because they move people up in the queue who need more immediate service as we did this time. Their responsiveness was excellent!

Adirondack folks were very professional and worked within the constraints of the fenced backyard and several trees so that there would be no damage to either of the trees or fence. We have used this company before and will continue to do so because of their responsiveness, competitiveness in pricing, and professionalism they exhibited from estimated cost to preforming services.

In the summer of 2017, Adirondack Tree Experts pruned my trees as necessary. They cleaned up all the branches leaving the yard looking nice. In March 2018, we had a major wind storm to such an extent that OPM saw fit to close the Federal Government. After the storm, only a few small branches dropped. I had no damage. I'm so grateful for Adirondack Tree Experts work!!

Tree was in close proximity to two homes. Crew did excellent job with rigging so all branches came down smoothly + any contact to roofs was soft. Crew showed up 15 minutes early + finished almost an hour ahead of schedule. Working with the office was great as well. They answered all emails promptly. We plan to hire again.

These guys were awesome start to finish. The large tree that towered over our parking spaces for years was dying and needed to be removed. Vinny showed up right on time to do the estimate, gave us a nice price that was even better once I took the 5% discount for cash payment. The crew showed up punctually and did an incredibly efficient job taking down the tree and then grinding the enormous root system. Punctual, polite, competent and well priced. The workers arrived on time. Vinny, the foreman that had provided the estimate, was there to inform the site supervisor on what needed to be done. The work that was performed was very professional and the company went out of their way to ensure that everything was done according to contract and that the area was left better than when they arrived. The employees were polite and exceptionally professional. We will not hesitate to contact this company in the future for additional work. You will not go wrong selecting this company.

They were professional and knowledgeable. Explained the process and options which gave us confidence that they understood the unique Magnolia tree. They did the job efficiently and at a great price! Very pleased with the overall results.

Arrived when promised did clean up, would hire again

We needed to take down a tall white oak tree. We obtained half a dozen estimates. Adirondack's price came in 25% below anyone else, and at less than half of the price of the two most expensive proposals. More important, the quality of the work and service was one of the best experiences we have had with any service provider for anything. Andrew, Vicinio, and the whole crew were professional, courteous (genuinely friendly even), careful, and nose-to-the-grindstone. They were extremely sensitive about not doing any damage to the driveway or lawn in the placement of the crane, and the clean-up afterwards went above and beyond - our roof, patio, and yard was cleaner when they left than it had been when they arrived! I think one of the reasons they were able to submit a less expensive proposal is that I believe Adirondack owns its own cranes, while a number of the other tree services may rent them at $1,000 to $1,500 a day. But also I think John, who came out and provided the estimate / proposal, had a more accurate assessment of things, because while other companies said they would have to bring in a 60 or 90 ton crane, Adirondack showed up on the day of the work with a 25-ton crane, and it was plenty sufficient. The crew worked non-stop, and it took less than half a day, whereas others had speculated it would take a full day. All the way around, from the initial estimate and proposal to the last sweeping of the sawdust, Adirondack was first-rate in doing our job.
