"There was a roach problem in the apartment building. I contacted Alleviation Pest about the problem. They were prompt to assess the problem. "Gene showed up as expected for the initial inspection. He walked us through the issues and was very thorough. He patiently answered my questions regarding two pest control issues as well as a potential regimen for the lawn. We went with an exterior treatment to eliminate ants and I can already tell a huge difference a day later. (No ant trails in the kitchen coming from the deck!) He gave us information/pricing on another treatment needed. It's not super urgent so my husband and I are deciding which we prefer to use. As unsuspecting, newish homeowners, he could have pressed us to treat now and use the most aggressive process and we wouldn't have known the wiser. We really appreciate his honest helpfulness and plan to use Natural Elements for pest control and lawn services in the future."

"It went well, I gave him a call and he showed up on time the next day. He inspected my home and determine the point of entry of the rodent. He placed a trap and the rodent was caught in few days.He came back and removed the rodent then proceeded to seal the area off. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about what technique would work best. I would highly recommend him if you are having a pest problem."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

A wasp is less likely to sting you if you remain still and calm when it lands on your or flies around you. Most wasps only sting when they feel threatened or disturbed, which is how they may interpret rapid movement or swatting. This is why it’s best to suppress movement and wait for the wasp to fly away.

Yes. Cellar spiders are predatory and feed on other insects, including other spiders. They eat flies, mosquitos, gnats, moths, and larger prey. That larger prey includes venomous spiders like the brown recluse and the black widow.  Basically, a cellar spider is pretty brave and will feed on anything that gets into its web, no matter the size.

No; ticks rarely infest buildings. They prefer to stay outdoors waiting for a potential host to pass by. However, while ticks do not infest beds, they can get indoors by attaching themselves to pets, clothing, or outdoor gear. A live tick may survive in your bed for around 24 hours, but it certainly won’t breed or start an infestation.

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.

Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.

While many pests like rats, mice, ants, cockroaches, silverfish, and bed bugs can damage your home, termites are among the most destructive. By sheer dollar amount, the damage from a bad termite infestation is unparalleled, as they can ruin walls, floors, roofs, and wooden support materials, potentially requiring massive reconstruction. Other highly destructive pests include rodents, carpenter ants, and bees that build hives within walls. If you spot signs of termites or other pests, you should hire an exterminator immediately.
