"SECURITY WINDOWS AND DOORS: I have spent a LOT of money putting in security windows and door as my home has been broken into many times while Charlie was here. I have had 2 companies, a local was fantastic but expensive yet worth it. They can no longer find someone to make security windows After contacting others who stopped calling (Medallion) when the 3 window job looked not worth the effort, I found Michael Byers on HOMEADVISOR/Angie's List. It is in Gaithersburg; he came right away to measure my windows; he special made one window for the cats so they can get their fat butts through. Windows are usually about $650 each but he charged $1000 for 3 windows and installation -- and they are the fancy windows. I was shocked and they were installed within a week. He has a factory where he makes the doors and windows himself. My HD door lacks were awful. On 3 doors, he installed new deadbolt and handle locks for a little over $200 -- including installation. The doors lock wonderfully and I have the same key for all of the locks. His number is 301-252-5117. With so many break-ins in my area, security windows and doors are now affordable."

He also painted the entire frame and replaced some additional wood that we damaged at top of frame and caulked it all. Also had a basement door frame sanded and repainted. "The technician showed up on time and proceeded to explain the process for installing the garage door opener.  The initial installation of the garage door went well.  However, upon the completion of the installation the technician proceeded to demonstrate the operation of the door when a malfunction of the garage opener occurred resulting in damage to my new garage door.  The technician immediately notified his supervisor who quickly acknowledged responsibility for this mishap.  I was informed as to the reliability of this particular garage door opener and this unfortunate incident had never occurred in the past. "Frontpoint great in selling me my new security monitoring system and they gave me a great discount. I needed to install this system myself and they were also very helpful in helping me when I was making mistakes during installation (guess what? it seems that the numbering of the sensors does matter!). But it is the billing where they are falling short. First of all, you need to keep a credit card on file with them - let's hope that they do a good job at protecting my information. Second, when I added my bank account info so that they could just debit my checking account for my monthly service charge ($44.99), they completely botched that up. They called me to tell me that my credit union denied the payment but when I called my credit union, they told me that no attempt to debit my account had been made. Ultimately Frontpoint charged my credit card for the April payment (which is actually unacceptable to me). My credit union advised that I was better off using their web bill pay system but it seems that I am unable to do that. My only choice with Frontpoint is to give them my credit card and bank account info so that they can charge my account each month - there is no way for me to send the money myself. Last thing - I was not actually able to talk to someone from Billing - only was able to talk to a "customer service rep" who could not explain what really happened. Let's hope that the May payment goes better..."
