"Professional! To provide estimate the house, grounds and crawl space were thoroughly inspected for existing pest and other problems. Paul was friendly and provided an explanation of what was found and cost for treating. No hidden costs and no additional cost as House was treated. I felt other quotes were low and as work would have commenced I would have had additional cost for “unexpected” finds of issues to be treated. As beautiful as vines on your home's exterior can be, they do like to attract many kinds of creepy crawlies. Bugs—including beetles, aphids, weevils, and others—like to make themselves at home in ivy. You can also bet if a wide selection of bugs is available, it will attract spiders, too.

In particular, it’s likely that small pests such as rats and mice that only need tiny gaps to squeeze through will end up in your walls and ductwork. Larger animals like raccoons may be limited to an enclosed attic.

Using chemicals with harsh odors is a natural way to repel bears. While the animal’s strong sense of smell is an asset in the animal kingdom, it’s a weakness here. Simply place bleach or ammonia in a bucket and leave it outside day or night. Ironically, bears also dislike the smell of pine, so you can use pine oil or a pine-based cleaning agent. Avoid using cleaning products with fruit or citrus smells, however.

Regular lawn care keeps snakes away because it eliminates common hiding places. You can deter snakes by trimming grass, shrubs, and trees and removing weeds from your lawn and gardens. Clear away leaves and other debris that could serve as a potential snake habitat. You can also seal entry points around building perimeters and install metal snake fencing.
