"The Dagenhart did a very nice job at my house. They were very personable and professional. The trees I needed trimed were extremely tall and they had no trouble completing the job. They were able to give me the estimate the same day they came to look and that was exactly what they charged. I listened to their suggestions and appreciated their knowledge. I’m very happy with the outcome. when they were done they cleaned up all the limbs and branches that they took down. I highly recommend them for their 40 years of experience and professional workmanship."

Emergency services offered

"He was worth the wait! Due to uncontrollable circumstances (rain, high winds, work schedule), there was a several-week delay between the original estimate (which was done immediately) and the actual work, which was performed yesterday. In the interim, Mr. Dagenhart provided periodic updates and was very professional. He and one helper arrived on time and trimmed 5 large trees. Throughout the job, he sought my approval and made certain that the work met my expectations. I have used three other services in the past, and Mr. Dagenhart's rates were very reasonable in comparison. Afterward, they raked my entire lawn and driveway, which looked better than before they arrive. I will definitely use his service in the future."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

  • Unhealthy palm trees attract pests, diseases, and fungi

  • Dead falling fronds can cause severe injury or damage to your home, pedestrians, or cars

  • Dead palm branches are flammable and can catch fire, especially during a lightning storm

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

The average tree pruning should take one hour with the right equipment. Light pruning of a small tree may only take around 15 to 20 minutes. Pruning multiple large trees in your yard will probably take several hours, including cleanup. However, tree pruning pros can do this job much faster, so you can rely on pros if you’re short on time.

If tree branches cross well into your property line, in many cases, these branches become part of your property, and you can trim them up until your neighbor’s property line. However, this issue will vary based on local ordinances, so you should do your research before making any decisions. Better yet, speak with your neighbor about how to handle any tree issues.

If you don’t mind the branches, you can leave them be, but if they’re becoming a hazard, it’s definitely worth having a conversation.

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.
