"This was not a small project. The team did a complete remodel of my master bath, a partial remodel of my guest bath as well as replacing tile in my kitchen and foyer. Dustin is very easy to work with. I needed someone I could trust when it came to the design of the master bath. Dustin helped me turn my vague concepts into very concrete ideas. His team was wonderful to work with. They were skilled craftsmen who were very respectful of my space, My condo finally feels like home. I would highly recommend this group if you are considering a project. Thank you Coastal Bay."

Customers say: Quick response

"Brian brought his people in to correct a prior contractorà ¢ s mess. He repaired the damage and finished off the tile work. He also installed shower doors on the new tiled shower. Brian was prompt and respectful and reasonably priced. Wish we had known about him before we started remodel. He would have done a more reputable job. We will hire him for all future work."

"Everyone I had contact with, from the initial estimate through final payment, were all respectful, courteous, and professional. They arrived when they said they would, they cleaned up before leaving each day. I had my wooden deck replaced with a composite one. I love the results. I highly recommend OC Home Services."

"We bought a new home and wanted it cleaned prior to moving in. I contacted Busy Bees to perform air duct cleaning, carpet cleaning, window cleaning and house cleaning. I spoke with Anthony, who was very friendly on the phone; he gave me a detailed list of exactly what they would do for me, how it would be done, and what to expect. He said he and his team would devote the entire day to cleaning my home. He quoted me prices for each service and they were very competitive with other providers and I liked that he could do all the services I wanted so I wouldn't have to contract with several providers.
Having read previous reviews here, I anticipated that they wouldn't arrive until after the 9am-10am start time that we had scheduled. His van pulled up around ten-thirty. Anthony and I did a walk through of the home where I pointed out everything that I'd wanted done. "We'll remove all traces of the previous owner," he told me; that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
I was away for most of the day and left Anthony and his team of two to do their work. I came back at various times to check on their progress and was pleased with what I saw. Anthony took the time to explain the duct cleaning process to me and I got to see first hand the before and after appearance of the ducts as well as an explanation of how the brushes operate.
The housecleaning work they did was very thorough. They cleaned a ton of baked on dirt from the oven, cleaned the refrigerator to remove its odors, and removed the accumulated dust from closet shelves. The home was spotless.
In many parts of the home, the carpets had looked really bad so I wasn't expecting Anthony to work any miracles. But this was the part of the job that most impressed me. After Busy Bees finished, the carpets looked spectacular. The heavy trafficked areas near the stairs and in the living room looked almost new.
At the end of the day I surveyed the whole home and was very satisfied. "Makes it look like a whole new place, doesn't it?" Anthony observed; I couldn't help but agree.

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.

Deciding between using a shower pan or tile will likely come down to the shower’s design. You can learn how to install a shower pan liner, but it has a standard look similar to most other showers, though there is some flexibility for material and color choices. Tile, on the other hand, can be customized and is set directly into the shower base. However, a shower tile floor is more difficult to install than a shower pan.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

Uniform spacing between tiles is important for a professional and clean appearance. To achieve this spacing, tile spacers should be placed between the tiles and left in place until the mortar hardens and the tiles are secure. You can use X-shaped spacers vertically in between the tiles and laid flat at the corners.
