AES Builder & Home ImprovementsIn mid-December 2012, I decided to do a complete renovation of the first floor of my home. I called two contractors and asked them to come out and give me estimates but I never heard back from them. I heard an advertisement on 95.1 Shine FM Radio in Baltimore for AES Builders and decided to give them a call. I called the office at 11:00 AM and spoke to Phil. I briefly explained what I wanted to have done and asked for an estimate to see if my ideas were within my budget. Phil told me he could have someone out to talk to me that very same afternoon which totally surprised me. Promptly at 1 PM, Mr. David Hill arrived at my door with samples for me to look at and choose from so he could get an idea of the price range of my project. I was impressed with Mr. Hill and his professionalism and I was also pleased to find out he is a Christian. He got back to me almost immediately with an estimate. I told him the price was above my budget and we discussed possible changes and suggestions that would bring me closer to my budget. Actually very few changes were made and I still got the quality products I originally wanted closer to my budgeted amount. I just had a very good feeling about this company and decided to go with them for the renovation without looking further for a contractor and I am very glad I did. I signed a contract with AES Builders on December 21, 2012, with an estimated start date of March 20, 2013, for my project. I went with Mr. Hill to the tile and granite stores in early January and also went over the details of the kitchen design he had provided to me so I could make intelligent decisions about counter tops, tile, grout, cabinetry, lighting and so many other things. There was never any pressure to make decisions and when I changed my mind, my new requests were accepted graciously. I am very pleased with all the businesses AES uses for their materials. In early February I had a call from the company's president, Mr. Munson. He just wanted to touch base with me and find out if I was ok with all the plans up to that time. It is very impressive to receive a call from the company president who is truly interested in making his customers happy. Mr. Munson also indicated the project might start earlier than March 20th which made me very happy. I was soon notified that the project would begin on February 11, 2013, and I met the foreman for the job, Brian, when Mr. Hill brought him out to meet me and for Brian to review the job several days before the start date. The project is currently in its fifth week which is almost to the halfway point and I could not be more pleased with the progress of the job and the professionalism of Brian and his workers Robbie and Bobbie. These three gentlemen are totally focused on attention to detail and making everything they do absolutely perfect. They are highly skilled and are far exceeding my expectations on all aspects of the project. They completed the demolition of gutting 6 rooms on the ground floor in just two days, cleaned everything up and started the renovation on the third day. Each day when they leave, they clean up the work area, remove all trash or old materials and everything is put away and readied for the start of work the following day. They are busy working from the time they arrive until they leave each evening seldom even taking a break. I could not be more pleased and would highly recommend AES Builders to anyone looking for quality workmanship, professionalism and skill in the workers on the job site and top quality attention to detail in all aspects of the projects. There is not one negative comment I would make about this company and its workers and on a scale of 1-10, I would give them a rating of at least 25! House To Home SolutionsMy family chose House to Home Solutions to supply the finishes for a beach condo that was stripped back to the concrete walls and floors. It was so easy and convenient working with Daniel and his team. They guided us through every stage of the process. We met as many times as necessary to ensure we would have the space we had dreamed about for decades. Daniel was able to show us our finished spaces with the materials chosen before we even started the project. The Team was always responsive to any emails/calls about the work and kept us on track with deadlines for ordering. They are so knowledgeable and it was so helpful to be able to see and touch the materials together before proceeding. The Design Expo - Flooring Center of BowieI came to Design Expo with a floating cork floor I wanted installed, which I had ordered from a company in Texas. Unlike many other stores, Design Expo was willing to bid on the job even though not all of my materials would be purchased from their store. Gene discussed the job with me over the phone and called the cork source to make sure he could work with the product. Then he visited my home and gave me an estimate, and his thoroughness during that visit gave me a good feeling that they knew what they were doing. His price was slightly better than the other estimates I'd gotten, and the body of work he proposed doing was more in line with my expectations than the others. Once I had chosen Design Expo, I ordered the cork and set an installation date with Gene. We waited until the cork arrived for me to pick out tile to match for the laundry room and entry way. Even though this caused quite a few repeat visits to the store, both Gene and Scott were completely helpful and patient and answered many questions. Installation went very well. The installers showed up on time and worked efficiently and professionally. We did have one small mishap in the laundry area that was quickly remedied, and Gene and Scott both worked with me to make sure all was well. There was a slight language barrier with the installers, so I tended to pass my concerns through to Gene or Scott when I had them; they handled all that with good grace and took care of following up with the installers when necessary. The floor installation was done in two days. Another day was devoted to application of a polyurethane finish, which also went smoothly. The floor is beautiful and looks just as I had hoped. My only slight criticism was about some very minor cleanup at the end of the installation, and a few details that I felt Gene might not have communicated clearly in advance to the installers, but overall I'm entirely pleased with the job from start to finish.- Jennifer S.

Dusty was a lifesaver! I bought a large 60” tv to replace my 42” set. I thought I’d easily be able to unscrew the old set from the existing mount and connect the new one. Well it wasn’t so simple! In a panic I contacted Dusty who responded immediately; at first he offered to talk me through the Installation process in the phone, which was in itself as amazing as he wouldn’t be getting paid! However I wanted the job done right, so he was quickly here to install the new set safely and properly.
