"I hired Pete to install drywall after a bedroom renovation. I do my own home improvements but was in a hurry to get this project done. Pete and his crew completed the job quickly. He was punctual and courteous and he went out of his way to make sure the work area was clean and that I was happy with the end results before accepting final payment."

"They came out to measure and look at the surface of the tub and the tile first then provided me with the price and contract.  I scheduled the appt at at point with someone in the ofiice. All went well as planned and I'm so happy with it.  What a differnce this made in how my bathroom looks now!  it was looking old, tired and outdated - now it look clean and new!  I felt so good about it i changed the soap dish, cup holder, shower curtain and rod and the towel rods. Love it.

"I’ve been using GF Drywall for almost 20 years for large remodeling projects and smaller jobs around my home and rental property. Always a good price, always great service and professional quality. They will even let me do some of the job myself if I want to try and save some money on certain projects. Gustavo and his team are ALWAYS my first and only choice for anything drywall or remodeling. Five stars!"

"There is a review in which the client says Cruz warned him the texture match of his repair might not match perfectly the original wall texture, yet the match was so perfect the client couldn’t locate the repair area. That review is why I chose Cruz, & the same thing happened with me. He repaired a big drywall hole in my kitchen ceiling and repaired a lot of interior plaster in my dining room, foyer, & study that had disintegrated due to exterior cracks that let in moisture (long since repaired). The ceiling & study were lightly textured, the dining room & foyer heavily textured, and he got the texture to match up everywhere! Cruz explained that he was using a substance different from plaster, I can’t remember what it is, but it is more water-resistant & won’t disintegrate like plaster if I get anymore exterior settlement cracks. He was very communicative, called the night before each visit to confirm he would be out, & let me know a half-hour before he arrived that he was on his way. He helped me move some heavy furniture that I’d meant to have moved when he arrived. He was very good about making space available to me so I could work & prepare meals while he was working. And his workmanship was excellent. I’m posting this in a couple of places & will include before- & after photos where I can. The price for the kitchen ceiling, dining room wall, foyer, & study walls was $1,300, which I considered very fair. I was very specific about where I wanted repairs done; there were several areas I told him to leave alone because I planned to fix them myself to save some money. To be honest, I was dreading making those repairs myself & knew it was going to take A LOT of time & energy. Cruz just whizzed through the room & did the repairs himself free of charge. The job was so good I voluntarily paid him $200 extra and was happy to do it. In an hour or two of his extra time he saved me several weekends and definitely more than $200 in the materials & agonizing sweat equity I would have expended had I done it myself. I would DEFINIETLY recommend Cruz & use him again. PS He also does painting ( I would have had him paint too If I could have afforded it but I am on a very tight retirement budget—his prices are VERY fair), baseboard work, & hangs doors and I think windows."

"There was a 10 inch square hole cut in the drywall in the back wall of a 26 inch wide pantry closet that was positioned between two shelves. That hole was created by a plumber on a preceding job to gain access to some copper water pipe in the wall as he was replacing an outside faucet. As I looked at the remaining repair work, I quickly decided that this highly visible repair work that needed to be done in cramped quarters was definitely a job for professionals (i.e. not me). Matt at M. G. Good, Inc. got back in touch within 10 minutes. He gave me a preliminary estimate based on my description and offered to get some here to do the work on that same day. When I replied that I would be leaving the house in approximately 2 hours for the rest of the day, he told me that he could get someone there in 20 minutes from a nearby job that was just wrapping up. In 12 minutes, Mark Good (the owner) rang the doorbell, He did excellent work, completed it quickly (less than estimated time), adjusted the final price according to actual work time. I see no evidence that a hole was ever there and the area was completely clear of any construction litter from Mark's repair work. I am very happy with the quality of his work, his pricing and his willingness to work within my schedule. I would always go back to M. G. Good in the future and would also recommend them to my friends or any one else."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Plaster ceilings can sag for several reasons. In some cases, the plaster and other building materials shift and come apart over time, which is why you’ll commonly find drooping plaster ceilings in older homes. Improper installation, foot traffic, and water damage—often from a leaky roof or a broken pipe—can also cause plaster ceilings to sag.

Technically speaking, you can use drywall primer over plasters. However, oil-based primers work the most effectively on wall plasters. Meanwhile, water-based primers work just as well with drywalls. Nowadays, there are also universal primers suitable for drywall and plaster. Overall, you will be fine as long as you are using a trustworthy brand.

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

Pros ensure smooth finishes and lasting repairs, avoiding visible patches.

You can paint over drywall mud about 24 hours after application, but the exact timing depends on factors like humidity, temperature, and the thickness of the mud. For the best results, ensure the mud is completely dry to the touch and has changed from a darker gray to a lighter, chalky white. Don’t forget to sand and prime the drywall surface before you paint to create a smooth, even finish.
