"Fantastic. Frank was very thorough and his crew worked diligently to locate the buried water line and perform the replacement. The fix was cost effective and is expected to last longer than the old copper pipe did. Once it was replaced the yard was back filled and the disturbed areas were covered with straw. The installation was neat and clean."

"Glenoak came out to reinstall a toilet that had been leaking .  While there, they noticed a leak from the pressure tank, which needed to be replaced.  They went out for the part w/o charging us for that time or travel.  Unfortunately, the replacement part didn?t work, and ultimately they had to replace the entire toilet.  They fixed a small gas pipe leak near our furnace while there, too.

Very professional, punctual, and competent.

"Ray was on-time, personable, knowledgeable and courteous. He listened to my description of the problem, asked a few questions, took a look at the layout. He then made three clear recommendations and explained why the least expensive option was our best choice. Based on our initial phone call, he had arrived with the proper tools and acted to resolve the situation. He left us with clear follow-up guidance and assured us that if one of the other options turned out to be required, he would adjust the charges based upon what we had already paid. One of the best experiences we've had with the plumbing industry!"

"Nathan was awesome to work with. I hired him to just certify my septic system on a new home that I bought, instead I had to have my whole septic moved and replaced! He did it in a timely fashion as much as he could with Inspections and rain delays. Good thing I didnt move in the house yet. I will definitely recommend Eagle and Son Septic Services."

"They called me right away once I submitted the request through Home Advisor and arrived the next day. Work was done quickly. My questions were answered and they will remind me in three years to have my septic cleaned again. Can't ask for more than that! Not sure of the value for the money, did not price around."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Septic drain lines (or leach lines) are typically buried between 18 and 36 inches underground, and should be at least 6 inches below the surface. These pipes are perforated and surrounded by filtering materials like sand or gravel. Burying the lines at this depth helps minimize odors and allows bacteria and other biological processes in the soil to effectively treat the wastewater. Burying lines too close to the surface can cause issues unless the soil is very compact and stable.

With so much available information about the ecological effects of cesspools (and their general unpleasantness), it begs the question: Are cesspools legal? In short, sort of. Large-capacity cesspools that serve more than 20 people are completely illegal countrywide. Existing, smaller cesspools are generally allowed as long as they’re not actively polluting. However, new cesspools are illegal to build in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, and many states offer programs to help homeowners with the costs of updating cesspools to modern septic systems.

Buying a well drilling kit will save you money over hiring a professional. That said, digging a well is risky. If you make an error, you may have to get help fixing it. Also, the DIY costs are still pretty hefty when considering everything needed to complete the project successfully. You’ll need to account for the permit, pump, water tank, and more. If you don’t feel comfortable taking the necessary precautions to tackle this on your own, go with a pro.

Septic tanks can clog if they aren’t pumped every few years since solid waste accumulates inside of them. Your tank might also clog if you have a habit of flushing anything other than human waste or toilet paper. Items like diapers, baby wipes, paper towels, cat litter, and personal hygiene products should never go down your pipes.

Septic tanks appear full after pumping because the liquid levels have returned to normal. If you can see the pipe, the tank is empty. However, heavy rain can cause septic tanks to fill faster than normal. You might also have leaky pipes or faucets, causing extra water to drip down the drains and into the septic tank.
