We are one of the oldest and most respected septic and excavation contractors in Baltimore and Hartford counties. Our team has a wealth of experience and knowledge. A NOWRA (National Waste Water Recycling Association) certified and alternative service provider, Earl "Gene" Preston has been in business since 1971 as a septic and excavation contractor. Also licensed to install conventional and alternative systems , Doug Dufour is our superintendent and has been working with gene since 1982. Each of our key employees has at least a dozen years of experience in the field, and has been with gene for five years or more. We have a full line of construction equipment available. MHIC # 10598. Additional DBA - Whiteford Septic Service.

On time, friendly, knowledgeable and fair... I'm a first time septic owner, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service received. The technician went out of his way to ensure impact on my property (ie. tire tracks) was non-existent!

Because we have septic systems here, we have to have them cleaned on a regular basis. So I've been using them for quite a few years better than 10. They have me on a call list or a mail list that every two years they let me know that my septic needs to be cleaned. When I make an appointment, they come out. It's in the backyard, so I don't even need to be here. My septic system is in sort of like a green garden and they never mess it up. They come in, do their work and they're gone. As far as the emergency work that I had done, I called them and within two hours they were here. I needed a person to do some Roto-Rooter work because they couldn't do Roto-Rooter type of work. So they called a specialist that they work with and he was out within an hour. He worked for quite a long time to get the pipes free. They're very responsive and very good at what they do.

Gene called me as promised to schedule a site visit. We met and Gene promptly returned a quote, which he stated was high due to materials. There was not enough "fill dirt" readily available and he would have to use CR6 from the quarry, Gene could commit to the 3wk lead time the builder had laid out. Equipment (roller, dozer) was delivered the week before and the site pad was completed as promised.

I wanted to dump my septic later rather then sooner. However, the woman I spoke with on the phone, told me if I would do it before a certain date, it would be less expensive since Balto. County was raising rates on the their septic business to dump the waste.

My goats got in his way a bit, but he was very nice and professional. Remember if you want to use the 10% angie's list coupon- you have to print it out.

They were very easy to work with- the person on the phone has to juggle a lot in the morning of your service but she handles it all very well ( you have to call in that morning to find out what time your service will occur) .
We are new homeowners and the pipe was visible in our of the lawn so the other crew just put us on their list to be a fill in and they easily cut the clean out pipe down to an acceptable level and billed us- so NO more unsightly pipe!
NOTE TO ANGIE'S LIST CUST0MERS- you must print out the coupon- they do not honor a verbal mention of angie's list- totally understandable.
