Thompson Creek Window Company designs, manufactures, sells, and installs stronger, safer windows built specifically for your home and our unique climate. We have been customizing and manufacturing replacement windows, doors, gutters, siding and roofing in the Mid-Atlantic region since 1980. Our products deliver time and again, improving a home’s energy efficiency and increasing home values, curb appeal and sheer comfort. Our windows and gutter systems are custom manufactured, installed and serviced from our family owned and operated factory in Upper Marlboro, Maryland – eliminating costly and inefficient middle parties. We’re so sure you’ll love our products that we back everything up with our Thompson Creek No-Hassle Warranty and Buyer Protection Guarantee. At Thompson Creek, we’re your friends and neighbors. We’re proud of our history in the Mid-Atlantic region and proud to help our communities improve the comfort and conditions of their homes.

"No other way to put it. Install went fine. When I call, email, text for warranty service… run around at every turn. They say they will schedule right away for evaluation…didn’t happen. They say they will get it replaced right away…hasn’t happened. Regret after the sale. Xavier D and Alexis C are my two “contacts”. Unacceptable. Standing by for some ridiculous message about being sorry for the experience and to call some number that will fail to get a response. Also filing a BBB complaint."

the Village Carpenter is Family owned and operated business started by my Grandfather when he retired from the steel mill in 1961. I started "in tow" with my Grandfather and Great Grandfather instilling old school craftsmanship and hard core work ethic into a profession they noted, "will always be good for the Family." When Clients call the Village Carpenter, they get me, Mark Letersky from start to finish on every project, as well as an immediate history of a way of doing business on a level where everyone is your Neighbor and they appreciate quality work at a fair price. We like and appreciate our Clients, so if you are just looking for cheap, inexperienced and unskilled labor, we ARE NOT who you are looking for your projects. We do honest work for reasonable compensation. Whether you need all of those little tasks on the "Honey Do" list done and over with, or an extension built on your home, the Village Carpenter offers a reasonably priced solution, great communication (cell, text, email) and all within a reasonable time frame. As always, Have a great day! Mark

"Ghosted me and my client. Mark was hired by the sellers of the home my client was purchasing. He apparently had been the sellers trusted contractor for their time owning the home. The sellers hired him to complete a punch list of repair items. When we got to my clients final walk through, there were a handful of items that were not complete. We were assured that Mark was a reliable contact and for my client to reach out to him to make sure everything was taken care of post settlement. What a mistake. For months, my client and I tried to reach him. We did hear back once to coordinate a time, but once responded, nothing again. These were not groundbreaking repairs, so perhaps they weren’t worth his time, but the lack of communication has been very frustrating. I deal with contractors all the time and understand how some you need to chase down more than others, but definitely would not recommend Mark to clients of mine in fear of a similar experience."

HANDYMAN / INTERIOR PAINTING I'm very good... Charles E. Jackson Construction is run by a one-of-a-kind professional (Chuck) who believes in honest & excellent work. Charles E. Jackson Construction is a general construction and handyman company which serves clients with private, home and commercial needs; Chuck has impressive experience with large-scale projects and yet no project is "too small." Before starting his own construction company, Chuck earned his Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Art, and later earned his Master’s degree in Art History, both at Indiana University. Chuck brings his “artist’s eye” and penchant for perfection to his construction client; this can be especially helpful to clients in need of additional color and design ideas. Chuck has been in business for over 15 years. Clients say that he is "a hard worker" - "budget conscious" - "easy to work with" - "FAIR PRICES" and "GOOD!" Call Charles E. Jackson construction for your construction and handyman needs – you will not be disappointed. References are available on request.

Hurricane Shutters questions, answered by experts

The biggest disadvantage to hurricane shutters is the cost. Hurricane shutters aren’t the most budget-friendly home improvement project. If you choose a shutter style that you have to go outside to operate, it could pose a challenge if you have issues with mobility. Additionally, they require a fair bit of maintenance and upkeep to stay in the best possible condition to protect your home.

Yes, by reinforcing hinges and latches to prevent unauthorized entry.

The average shutter is designed to last 20 to 25 years. Proper maintenance for the type of shutters you have is essential for helping them reach their full potential.
