"Great! Job was complete .... removal of existing 50+ year old insulation, air sealing attic, baffle installation, installed 18 inches new fiberglass blown insulation, and new whole-house fan. Job started and completed as proposed. Crew on-time, quietly performed their work, and left spaces clean when done. Definitely worth the cost as noticeable improvement in second floor temperature and humidity readings."
Owens Corning ProPink R-49 Blown-In Insulation. Our most popular product
These vents help your attic circulate air. With attics reaching over 120 degrees in the summer these are very important. They prevent mold and increase the lifetime of your insulation. Most other contractors miss installing these.
Look at the difference! Our foam is fire-rated which allows us to air seal around penetrations that contractors never could before.
Most homes have penetrations all over there attic. Imagine trying to blow up a balloon with a bunch of holes. It will never fill up. Now imagine trying to blow up your house with air conditioning and heating with a bunch of holes in the attic. It will never fill up.
Recessed can lights are notorious for leaking air. Recessed can light covers help with air-sealing your living space and prevent fires.

"Our first interaction with Atlas was with Shannon. As knowledgeable and personable as one could hope for. She clearly explained cost effective measures to better insulate our house. We opted for sealing and insulating our attic and weather stripping a number of doors. We were very pleased with the workmanship and the energy savings they produced. They also helped us get a PEPCO credit which reduced the overall cost of the job. A winner!"

"We had Xanvria remove the old insulation in our attic, air seal the attic, and install new R-49 batts. They did a really good job, were professional, and explained what they were doing along the way. Everything came out clean and we?re very happy with the work. I would definitely recommend them."

Insulation FAQs, answered by experts

Signs your Gaithersburg insulation needs attention include increased energy bills, persistent drafts, or rooms that remain uncomfortable. Check for insulation that’s damp, compressed, or showing signs of mold or pest activity. If your insulation is over 20 years old or doesn’t meet current energy codes, a professional assessment can help you determine if an upgrade is needed to boost energy efficiency and home health.

Helpful?

Combining insulation service with air sealing, HVAC improvements, or window and roof upgrades in Gaithersburg can maximize energy efficiency and comfort. Coordinating these projects reduces disruption and may qualify you for local rebates. For example, upgrading insulation while installing a new HVAC system ensures both work together optimally, helping you achieve better indoor air quality and long-term savings.

Helpful?

When planning insulation service in Gaithersburg, check how upgrades could impact your HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and ventilation systems. Improved insulation can change airflow and humidity, so you may need to rebalance your HVAC or upgrade exhaust fans for better indoor air quality. Always inspect for proper clearance around pipes and wires to prevent condensation, freezing, or electrical issues, especially in attics and crawl spaces.

Helpful?

In Gaithersburg’s mixed-humid climate, top insulation choices include fiberglass batts for attics and walls, cellulose for retrofits, spray foam for sealing gaps, and rigid foam boards for basements. Opt for moisture-resistant products and install vapor barriers on the warm side during heating season. Ensure all materials meet MD’s minimum R-value standards for energy efficiency and help reduce air leakage for maximum comfort.

Helpful?

Consider insulation service in Gaithersburg if you notice uneven temperatures, cold floors, or persistent drafts. High energy bills or insulation older than 15 years are also signs it’s time for an upgrade. Scheduling work in spring or fall allows for easier booking and ensures your home is ready for seasonal temperature swings, helping you improve energy efficiency before extreme weather arrives.
