We are a small family owned business and we are all dedicated to give our customers the best work possible not only just for our pay but its our personal name also which gives us a lot of pride. As the owner I am personally hands on working on your project not just sending workers.

"Jeff and his crews delivered on time and on budget. I was advised each day of the activities that were going to take place the following day. All workers were pleasant and responsive to any needs. Each day prior to leaving the job site everything was cleaned up, equipment and materials stored neatly, and any trash removed. The quality and craftsmanship were excellent."

Transform your space with Washingtonian Companies, your interior/exterior design-build team. Whether it's roofing, windows, siding, decks, kitchens, bathrooms, or additions, we are your trusted partner to bring your vision to life and help personalize your surroundings.

"We were 100% satisfied with Washingtonian and with their work building our addition and deck. Not only was the workmanship and quality of the construction outstanding, but they operated with honesty and integrity. Their goal was our satisfaction and building a quality addition and deck. They accomplished all three and were reliable, dependable and conscientious. At no time did we believe that they had over-committed or were unable to deliver on what they had promised. They never cut corners to rush to another job nor did I ever feel that they were not spending the necessary time to ensure that the work on our job was thorough and complete. Travis, Kris and their crew were 100% professional, communicative and transparent. We will be using Washingtonian again, without hesitation. Our experience was excellent and they did an awesome job."

DMV Kitchen and Bath Inc is a family owned and operated Full Service General Contractor specializing in Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling and Design/Build Services. We ensure a high quality finished product with flexible and attentive service at a competitive price. We pride ourselves on having the ability to make our clients visions come to life with great design ideas and execution. Showrooms: Chantilly, (VA) (703) 657-0997 and Gaithersburg, (MD)

"Awful, awful experience. A true nightmare. They charged tens of thousands of dollars and messed up basically every aspect of our bathroom remodel. Given multiple opportunities to fix their problems, they did not. Extremely sloppy, low quality work. The work on the bathroom was clearly done by someone who has never seen a bathroom or used one, much less built one before. The shower leaks, the tile was so crooked and bumpy it had to be ripped out twice, the radiators were badly reinstalled and dripped water down through the floors into to kitchen below, the walls and ceilings they built are not straight or square, the sink handles immediately fell off, they caused a $1000 plumbing clog and our basement to flood with sewage by flushing construction debris down our toilet. Instead of replacing pipes, they kept the old pipe which we had asked them to replace, and then tried to hide and cover it up. They would also show up unannounced and let themselves into our home on days when they had not told us they would be coming or that we were supposed to expect anyone to be in our house. So on multiple occasions I would hear an unexpected noise and I'd look over and see someone in my house who I had never seen before in my life. And every time we raised an issue to them, they either ghosted us or tried to convince us it was fine and that their work had been done correctly. I have pictures to document all of these issues. I will never let anyone from DMV enter my house again and I will tell everyone I can to never do business with this company. Scammers, liars, incompetent, I hope they go out of business."

Complete kitchen and bath remodeling including plumbing and electrical. Highly experienced and certified technicians with over 20 years of field knowledge and empierce that will respect your home and delivery an amazing experience that you will remember and share with others for years to come. We can customize any project and work with any budget. You will admire and adore your new space.

"After I terminated the lease of my tenant in early 2023, I decided to do the whole house remodel before selling it because of the age of the house and TLC it needed. The original contractor I hired ended up going to jail for child abuse charges and I had to find another contractor to finish the job. I got a number of quotes and decided to go with Donna from AND Contractors, LLC. It is very difficult to come into a project that somebody else started and the quotes reflected that but Donna’s estimate was fair and I felt comfortable in my interactions with Donna. Don't let the fact that a woman runs the business fool you - she is a real tough but fair boss. She was on the job site every day! She treats her people right but also lets them know when they mess up and they respect her for it. There were many things that were not visible but needed to be redone where the original contractor messed up but it was important to Donna that the corrections be made. I am sure there must be limits but all of these corrections were accommodated without change orders. The project was completed on time and within budget. Oh, did I mention Donna is also a real estate agent? When the project was completed, she listed the house at the highest price in the history of the neighborhood. I was hoping but not expecting it so it was a pleasant surprise when she brought me a full price contract within a few days! I HIGHLY recommend AND contractors, LLC and Donna! If you want your project done right, on time and within budget, you owe it to yourself to at least have her look at your project!"

Company Motto: WHEN WE'RE DONE, YOU'LL BE HAPPY, IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY, WE'RE NOT DONE. It's more than just a motto, it's our Company-Heartbeat. Family owned and operated, we have been serving Maryland Home owners since 1989. Stephen Longdo is a working owner, available to all his clients on a daily basis. We refuse to bid to subcontractors and give a FIVE YEAR FREE LABOR WARRANTY ON ALL OUR WORK. Member of BBB and the Maryland Improvement Contractors Association. MHIC License 37105. "I would like to start by saying I researched this company thoroughly on different websites and met with a member of the company and I thought they were really going to turn out to be a great choice for my project. It ended up not being the case for me. I feel like I was treated as if my business was not wanted or needed and I am disappointed. I am still just sitting here“shaking my head” at the whole interaction. I went to a home remodeling show at the Baltimore Convention Center on Friday, February 16, 2018. I met a representative for the company that was working the booth at the show and explained that I was looking to add a porch to the front of my house. We spoke at length with someone that ended up being a designer for the company and showed him some “inspiration photos” of ideas we had in mind for the project. We showed him two pictures on a phone with crude Photoshop renderings of our house with some images of different porches we admired added to the front of our house just for a reference point. The designer gave us his card and told us to call the company to set up an appointment for him to come out and measure and discuss the project further. On February 27th 2018 we contacted the AES Customer Care department and made an appointment for the designer to come out for measurements and other information needed for an estimate. When we mentioned the “inspiration pics” we had we were asked to email them to the company in care of the Customer Care person that set up the estimate appointment. At that time an appointment was made for March 14, 2018. On March 14, 2018 at 3pm the same designer we met at the remodeling show arrived and took measurements of the front of the house. He was just as nice as he had been when we first met him. He stated that he didn’t feel one of the ideas we showed him would work because the pitch of the existing roof was too low to add dormers. He stated the second “inspiration pic” idea would work he thought. He drew some quick sketches on his IPad to explain to us why he didn’t think the dormers would work and we agreed. He also showed us a picture he had on his IPad of a porch project he designed for another customer. It was similar to what we were looking for and the house in the picture was similar to ours in the style. We really liked it. He explained at length how he would build the foundation of the porch without having to pour a lot of concrete and the different finishes we could use. He was probably at the house for about 2 hours answering our questions and explaining things. He told us he could produce a computer image for us of roughly how the porch in his picture on the IPad would look on our house--He stated he would need to do a computer drawing anyway in order to generate the estimate and he would share the drawing with us so we could get a general idea of how it would look. He told us it would take “about two weeks” to get the drawing and the estimate to us. If and when we signed a contract, work would begin approximately 90 days later because they were so busy he said. He left stating he knew “exactly what we wanted” (his words). Two weeks came and went and we heard nothing. I emailed the Customer Care Department on Friday 4/20/18 @ 12:52pm to ask how the estimate was coming along since it had been a little over a month. The same Customer Care Dept. person we set the appointment up with initially responded @ 1:05pm to say they would ask the designer to contact us as to when we could expect the estimate. I emailed Customer Service again on Friday, 5/4/18 @ 11:50am to say we still hadn’t heard from the designer. The Customer Care Dept. (same person) responded @ 11:52am to say he will let the designer know we are expecting communication from him. (No apology for the delay or anything else, just that one sentence). On Thursday 5/31/18 @ 12:32 I again emailed the Customer Care Dept. to say “I am reaching out one last time in an attempt to get an estimate. I am hoping this bad initial experience is not reflective of the company as a whole. Is there someone that can email me an estimate? At 12:42 the Customer Care department (same person I’ve been communicating with) responded saying “I will contact the designer and request him to contact you to let you know when to expect those mock–ups” (again, no apology or anything other than that one sentence). FINALLY on 5/31/18 @ 4:52pm I received the email below from the designer. He cc’d the Customer Care Dept. person I had been communicating with as well as the owner of the company. “I apologize as to any confusion with emails as I had sent you a couple emails a few weeks ago and then before that as well so I am replying to this thread. We had sat down and looked at your existing roof line and determined that because the original pitch on your roof was to low to add any kind of meaningful dormers and to connect a front porch based on that look. We felt it better to have an engineer look at what you want to accomplish and then do some structural drawings to get a proper spread and from those drawings (if it were possible) we could do a build cost and take off. The existing roof line was to low to present any kind of structural and finished look for what you wanted. Let us know if you would like the name and number of an engineer” I responded to all on 5/31/18 @ 8:06 pm. In a nutshell I said I would be interested in seeing proof of those sent emails because I never received anything from him at all after he left my house on March 14th. I reiterated the things he had done and said when he came to the house that I talked about above and said there was never a discussion regarding an engineer or anything remotely similar. I also said how disappointed I was. I never received any further communication from the designer, Customer Service Dept. person I communicated with that was cc’d on the email, or the owner that was cc’d on the email which is what has prompted me to leave the bad review. I am assuming the Customer Service Dept staff member and owner were cc’d when the designer finally responded to me because he was told to so they would know he did finally respond so I would stop “bothering them”. I can’t put into words how disappointed I am in the way I was treated by AES. I truly don’t think this behavior is typical from them based on the glowing reviews the company gets. It also appears they do beautiful work which is another reason I am disappointed. I still have no idea what the issue was but I had a horrible experience with them for whatever reason."

FAQs for kitchen and bathroom remodel projects in Damascus, MD

The cost of home remodeling is $50,000 for the average homeowner. However, this cost can range anywhere from $3,000 for a small project to $170,000 for a whole home remodel. Factors like project size, location, and room type all affect your overall cost. For example, bedroom remodeling costs are one of the least expensive projects, costing about $1,500 to $5,500 per bedroom. However, a kitchen remodel has a significant cost range, totaling anywhere from $14,500 to over $70,000.

Yes, most states require home remodeling contractors to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed home remodeling contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.

There are a few things you can do to prepare for a home remodeling project to ensure a smooth construction process. Creating a detailed budget can help you stay on track, especially with the excitement of new construction or upgrades. It’s also beneficial to map out a remodeling timeline with your contractor to have clear expectations. In addition, you’ll want to prepare the space that will be worked on ahead of time—this could be tarping furniture or entirely removing belongings from the room.

Home renovation insurance, sometimes called “dwelling under renovation coverage” or “builder’s risk insurance,” helps financially cover any damages that occur during the home renovation process. While different from typical homeowners insurance, many homeowners insurance policies already include some sort of home renovation insurance or offer it as an additional add-on. While this insurance isn’t necessary for every home remodeling project, it’s best to contact your insurance company to verify if it’s needed and what your coverage options are.
