Porcelanosa

We renovated 3 bathrooms with almost all materials from the Rockville store of Porcelanosa including a shower column, an expensive Porcelanosa brand product. After less than 2 months of use, multiple rust stains appeared on one side of the shower column. When I contacted them I was told this was a result of using 'harsh cleaning products' and that I should not use vinegar/ammonia/bleach. We do not use any of those products. We clean all surfaces including rest of the shower column, linear drain cover, towel bar, shower door handle & hinges - all steel materials - the same way and none of those have shown any damage. I was really disappointed that they do not stand behind their own name brand product and refused to take any responsibility for a defective product. We have other projects including kitchen renovation but will be looking elsewhere for completing the projects.

See below what I just wrote to all of them telling them my story with PORCELANOSA: - Maryland consumer protection agency. - Maryland and New Jersey Better Business Bureau (BBB). - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC). - Econsumer.gov because the purchase was with a foreign manufacturer in Spain - Attorney General of Maryland Consumer Complaints - USA.gov 4/3/2017 To the Attorney General of Maryland Sir, On 08/11/2016, I bought a complete set of kitchen cabinets at Porcelanosa store located at 11500 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda Maryland, 20852. Re: Sales Order #13203605 Unfortunately, their product has not met my specifications because the upper cabinets were 28” instead of 42” height. First they gave us some outline drawings which had the correct proportions and we approved. These drawings were based on my drawings with 42” upper cabinets height and 96” ceiling height. Second then they gave us some shop drawings with the dimensions in both inches and millimeters. The upper cabinets were 28” instead of 42” and the ceiling height was 83” instead of 96”. I did not catch these 2 mistakes. I trusted Porcelanosa as experts in kitchen cabinets which I am not. The change in height was not disclosed to us. Third then a Porcelanosa technician came twice to our home to verify the design and still their shop drawings were wrong. They were confusing too because the dimensions were in metric and inches. They told us that the technician verified the linear footage and not the cabinet’s height. I found with surprise on 01/22/2017 that the upper cabinets were only 28” height. The sales person Lillia Saenz told us that nothing can be done. Juliane Zanuz emailed to me that “28 inches is standard height in Europe” where the cabinets are made and nothing can be done because is a “special order”. On 01/27/2017 I visited a second Porcelanosa store located at 1000 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington DC, 20036. There I received a quote less $11,000 for the very same kitchen cabinets. The quote was based on my design drawings and the Porcelanosa codes: Laquer 1077 Blanco for the upper cabinets, and 538 Roble Ahumadofor the bottom cabinets. Santiago Manent, the local manager and Mrs. Hanna gave me an estimate of $16,000. I have a copy of the email sent by Santiago Manent to Maria Borrero, the designer. She gave me an estimate of $25,000. From January 20, 2017, date I picked up the cabinets myself, I am trying to solve these issues with the local sales person and managers of Porcelanosa-USA. Santiago Manent, the local manager from Washington DC, told me that “he is reporting directly to the owners of Porcelanosa in Spain and that if I want this information I should Google the Internet.” Their offer to fix this issue is not satisfactory to us. Santiago Manent, as a manager to Porcelanosa, promised to help us last time, on Wednesday 3/39/2017 I and my wife met with him in DC shop. He promised us to provide the separated prices for the upper and for the lower cabinets, two numbers. Nothing. We payed $27,204 + taxesfor the kitchen cabinets and after more than 2 months we don't have a complete kitchen because we cannot use the 5 upper cabinets, they are in our basement in the original boxes. Here is what we propose: Porcelanosa will deliver free of charge the 5 upper cabinets, 42" high, based on their last modified shop drawings which I signed and sent to them more than a month ago and Porcelanosa will give us back the estimated overcharged sum of $7,000. Or better to resolve the problem, I would appreciate if they give the order to accept the return of the 5 upper cabinets and refund them to us based on their pricing which Santiago Manent does not want to disclose. I am disappointed because I was over billed for kitchen cabinets I cannot use. It is taking a considerable time out of my day to trying to rectify these simple mistakes made by Porcelanosa-USA. After almost 3 months and more than 80 emails and 3 meetings with the local manager we still don’t have a satisfactory solution for us. Fine. We love the tile. A friend bought the same tile on our recommendation. She's very pleased, also.

With Porcelanosa, my experience was A+. In terms of the advice in making the selection of the tiles, the personnel was extremely helpful as well as in problem solving. I highly recommend them.

They were picked up by my contractor - no problems

We purchased a very nice tile that was on clearance. The salesperson helped us choose the size of tile, calculate quantity needed and pick out a grout color. We picked up our selections from their warehouse. It was a first class operation from showroom to warehouse.

The sales person was very helpful helping us select the tile and calculate the right amount. They also arranged for us to pick up the additional materials we needed.

We did not and would never hire them. There was no offer of any information or advice. They told us we would have to make a deposit on the work and then they could advise. We had to sit and wait for attention while the woman took several telephone orders, with us sitting across her desk.

Excellent materials and design, great professional advise and very responsive service.

AMAZING HELP CREATING A NEW KITCHEN AND BATHROOM

Abdel Ahmadi looked after us and was very informative and helpful. It was great to get design ideas from him. He gave me a 50% discount on a mistake sheet of mix sil blue tile. Their staff was very informative and their showroom was awesome. I have recommended them to family members and friends who are doing their bathrooms and kitchens.

We were remodeling 3 bathrooms and a powder room, and sourced most of the items through Porcelanosa. The price/quality is excellent. Porcelanosa provides high-end European kitchen and bathrooms for a fraction of the cost of similar Italian, Swiss or German purveyors, particularly during its sale, but even without the discounts. Their look is very sleek and modern. We tiled our floors and also did floor-to-ceiling tiles in our bathrooms. Having looked at other tile providers, I must say that I found Porcelanosa's to be by far the most attractive. It has almost been a year since the renovation and we are extremely pleased with the results. So much so that we recently went back to Porcelanosa to purchase items for our final/4th bathroom which we will remodel next month.

Porcelanosa is a terrific outfit. The staff in the Rockville, MD store went to work and somehow got the tile delivered to us in time, even though it was not on their regular schedule. They also had everything else we needed, including spacers in several different sizes, and the right grout. The tiles are simply fabulous. They "make" this gorgeous new kitchen. We thought their entire line of Spanish tiles was really beautiful and unique. Working with Porcelanosa went smoothly from beginning to end, and their price was amazingly reasonable also. We have recommended them to all of our friends.

We were told the contractors to contact for installation which we did. DJ floors did the floor tile very well. Graniteworks, because or training or other problems was not able to fabricate krion or install it correctly. One of the problems that was very evident was that the countertop had not been measured correctly and the krion had bumps and cracks where different pieces had been bonded together. Nor was Graniteworks able to line the countertops up correctly or make the reveal. Finally Graniteworks quit the project. Several months later, porcelanosa finished the project with people they hired. How do the countertops look now? There is no reveal between the tops of the cabinets and the countertop. There is still a bump in the krion and in some places the krion extends an inch out from the cabinet. The whole project took about fourteen months. That is a long time to have a mess and lots of inconvenience in the kitchen! Porcelanosa did not request the other half payment at the end. I do like the krion countertop in my kitchen....even though several things about it are not right. Krion is a lovely surface material.

This was the only store in the region that had a large selection of ceramic tile from which to chose. The staff was knowledgeable in helping me select what was best for my needs at the best price. When I needed to change the numbers of tiles (return some, get others) they were accomodating.

They carry high end, high style designer tile. And they are accommodating and know there products so can provide advice on your project, including alternatives or how to solve design issues.

The combination was perfect and she seemed to had grasp our style and taste. She was assertive, patient, easy to get along and very helpful each time with interacted with her. The installation had some set backs and we needed to get more tiles. She went out of her way to make sure we had the tiles available on time. She even came to our home to look at the installed tile. The quality of the tile is excellent and it is what we were looking for. We have been very pleased with her performance and with Porcelanosa.

They ordered a free standing medicine cabinet. It went very well.. This item came from out of the county and with that I feel like we still received it in a timely fashion.
