"Rich was a true professional from the walk through and estimate to performing the carpet cleaning. He explained the process and is very reasonably priced. He cleaned the carpet of a 3 story townhome. The carpet had not been cleaned for many years. The carpet looks like new after the cleaning. It took approximately 4 hours to complete the job. I would highly recommend Rich for all your carpet needs. He also referred me to a contractor that was able to fix a roll in the carpet prior to cleaning."

Small jobs welcome

"It went really well! The Kenya, Cecilia, and Amanda showed up promptly at 8AM and were very accommodating about some particular requests I had concerning some of my things. Very thoughtful service, and were extremely efficient and thorough. They even cleaned my laundry room floor for me! It took them the allotted time, and they were very careful to make sure all of my things were taken care of properly. I've had several maid services over the years, and used my Angie's coupon to take advantage of this deep house clean, I was definitely not disappointed. I would hire them again in a second, and am strongly considering using them on a more frequent basis as well. Thanks again ladies!!"

"We just moved in to our house and noticed that there was a lot of lint stuck in the dryer vent coming out of the outside wall.  We didn't know the last time the vent was cleaned but were worried about the amount of time it took for clothes to dry and also the possible fire danger.  We went to Angie's list and after reading the reviews decided to select  All-Star Duct Cleaning.  The $115 cost also was nice.
They were able to schedule the cleaning in a few days.  We appreciated their prompt service (they even called to see if they could come a half hour before their scheduled time).  The job was thorough and they cleaned up afterwards (there was a lot of lint).
We have recommended them to our son who lives in the area.
Thanks for the great service!

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

To hire a professional house cleaner, start by searching online for local services or asking friends and colleagues for recommendations. Research potential companies by reviewing their websites, social media accounts, and online customer reviews. Contact them to inquire about their services and charges. It is also recommended to meet with prospective cleaners in your home to allow them to see the scope of the job, discuss expectations, and negotiate a price for the service. Always do your research before choosing a cleaning service to ensure it’s the right fit for you.

If you don’t want to remove the sink stopper, pour ½ cup of baking soda and 2 cups of boiling water down the drain. Start by pouring 1 cup of boiling water, then the baking soda, followed by the remaining cup of boiling water. Use caution as boiling water can damage PVC or other plastic piping. Using a scrub brush or slightly abrasive sponge, clean the top of the stopper, and run the faucet to ensure the drain is clear and the stopper is clean.

Estate cleanout services aren’t typically priced per square foot, although you can often expect costs to increase along with the square footage of a property. The real factor at play is the number of items that need to be handled. More items, especially bulky items, mean higher costs, and larger homes tend to hold more items.

Yes, basic dusting of doors, door hardware, and door glass is usually included when you hire a house cleaner to clean your home. A house cleaner may also vacuum door frames or clean tracks in sliding doors if these tasks are requested. However, house cleaners generally will not touch up scuffs or other markings on doors. Consider hiring someone who repairs doors to handle these issues for you instead.

Acrylic tubs are easy to clean with simple items you already have around the house. You can use dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, cream of tartar, or borax to clean an acrylic bathtub. Avoid mixing any household cleaners, including common ingredients like vinegar and bleach, as this can create toxic fumes. It’s also best to start with a spot test of any cleaners you use.
