"Mr. Mendez was very professional. He gave me a detailed quote, always came to meet me when he said he would, he and his team were great, the job was finished quickly, and the house looks fantastic. We have already asked him to give us a quote for interior painting, I would highly recommend him. We live in Arlington, our front porch and back deck railing was rotting, a good deal of trim was also rotting in various places around the house (windows, doors, pillars all had pieces that needed replacing), paint was peeling, and there was some brick work that needed some repairs. He and his guys power washed the house, cleaned the gutters, scraped, painted, replaced trim, completely rebuilt deck railings, rewrapped pillars/posts, and painted the brick, rails, and trim. Very well done and reasonably priced."

"I had a great experience with Miguel Team LLC. for my deck staining project. The team was professional, punctual, and very detail-oriented. They took the time to properly prepare the deck and ensured the stain was applied evenly, which made a huge difference in the final result. My deck now looks refreshed and beautifully finished. They also kept the work area clean and communicated clearly throughout the process. I truly appreciate the quality of their work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and high-quality deck staining services."

"We could not have been happier with the entire process. Prostage was the first to reply to our request for a bid, scheduled the job very quickly and was extremely reasonable in the price. The actual job was even better. They did more than what we asked for including painting the doors and then when we asked to include the master bath ceiling after the job had started there was no charge! Work was excellent, fast and the guys were VERY nice and professional."

"Omar and his team repaired the cracking, dirty, and moldy concrete basement entry.  They pressure washed, patched, and painted the cracks on the walls and ceiling.  They also replaced the cracking concrete at the top of the stairs.  The work they did extended the life of the stairway and made it usable again.  They were easy to work with and incredibly efficient."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

If you don’t treat a cedar fence, it will turn from reddish brown to gray over time. You can keep the cedar from graying and retain its attractive, deep red color by sealing your cedar fence with a stain that keeps the wood’s oils in and serves as a barrier against the sun’s UV rays.

Oxygen bleach uses hydrogen peroxide as a base and won’t harm wood when using it as a cleaner. On the other hand, chlorine bleach breaks down wood at the cellular level and causes irreversible harm. Although you may not see immediate damage to wood after exposing it to chlorine bleach, its strength and integrity are now compromised.
