"After receiving 3 quotes for replacing my deteriorating retaining wall, I chose J&R Chavez Landscaping. Positive reviews, the owner’s assessment, and a reasonable estimate convinced me. I accepted their bid on December 29, 2025. J&R submitted the permit request two days later. Unfortunately, the permit was approved on February 13, 2026, outside contractor control. Work began on February 16, with a good crew working when weather permitted. Delays due to quite bad winter were unavoidable. They discovered the old wall lacked a proper footing so the estimate was adjusted to install a new footing. Jose was transparent about necessary adjustments. The installation took until April 4, 2026, due to weather delays and town inspections. I’m very pleased with the strong, well-drained wall. I enjoyed dealing with J&R Chavez Landscaping with two small issues, communication about delays could be improved and Jose never got back to me about some agreed post job landscaping. Still, great job."

"My husband and I came across 7th State Builders online. Eddie came out to our home for our initial consultation. He was punctual and professional. He listened to our vision and took the time to draw out a plan and explain the process. He was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. We decided to do a big project at our home. For the back: a rebuild and waterproofing of our previous deck and a large patio to go underneath it with a fire pit and sitting wall. The front of our house needed some repairs so we had them redo our sidewalk in the same patio pavers from the back. The whole area in front of our garage was cut out and they put in new concrete and leveled it out. They rerouted our gutters to prevent flooding as the previous design was doing damage to our foundation. The owner, Chase, was very hands on and kept us updated the whole time. He frequently made sure we were happy with the way things were going. The whole team made this project an enjoyable experience. Iâ ll admit, my husband and I can sometimes be difficult people to please-But wow!! They really knocked it out of the park for us! 7th Stateâ s precision and talent is unmatched. You are truly working with people that know what they are doing and they are the best at what they are doing. Communication from start to finish was consistent and open. They were very patient with our ideas and they added to our vision in ways we didnâ t think was possible. The whole crew was professional and extremely hardworking. Not only did they do an amazing job but you can tell this is their passion. The little touches they put on everything are amazing. The details they put in set them apart from the rest. On every area of this project they went above and beyond. The transition of starting another area after the completion of another was seamless. Once they had completed our deck they immediately came in and started working on our patio, and so on. They did not miss a beat. "WONDERFUL!  I have other contractors take one look at my deck and tell me that whoever built it did a great job.  Steve had to work with another contractor that was doing some stonework and asphalt work who had some difficulty keeping to schedule.  In spite of Steve's numerous efforts to contact the other contractor, he maintained his professional and patient demeanor and made every effort to work around any difficulties that arose.  I would most DEFINITELY recommend Powerhouse Remodeling to anyone and everyone.  Great Job Guys!

Installed light fixture, fixed some hand rails in the stair well.  Installed some light switches and a TV stand.  Finished by installing several curtain rods.  All work was great and well done

"The process began with their designer, Jean, coming to the house and discussing what we wanted and offering some ideas.  Within days we had an estimate and design.  We revised from there and agreed to the work.  They actually were able to being early as another job had to be delayed as the people were not ready for them.  The workers were good and efficient and Colin, the owner, made certain work proceeded well and any questions we had were promptly answered.  Their workmanship is wonderful.  The stairs and decking on them are great with added touches that made them work for getting to the yard better than expected.   The pavers are beautiful and perfectly installed and the retaining wall is simply outstanding -- the have great stone workers.  All nice to work with and attentive to us and detail.

"Excellent! They're very realiable, prompt and showed up everyday. I wanted to be there throughout installation process so I requested that the stop work on occasions when I was going out of town. The rate for installation was cheaper than others I received and their work ethic is great along with the pride they take in providing good quality bricklaying. I highly recommend them. Very easy to communicate with and friendly workers who always gave insight on how I could improve the curb appeal to house. Will be looking forward to working with them more. Have some pillars and flagstone I want them to do. They provided pictures and references to other ones that attracted me into watching them in my dream home.
