We had our deck replaced by PowerHouse three months ago. They did a great job, at reasonable cost and in a timely manner. Steve was highly responsive and easy to work with.

Their pricing was fair; it was worth it.  I just think that the work they did was quality and worth the price.  The work was better than what I expected.  The workers were great.  They really went beyond my expectations, so I don't have anything to complain about.

I would give the subcontractor who built and completed my deck an "A". The subcontractor and his team arrived each day promptly to the job each day.  If they had any feedback, they will leave a note.  They had ensured that the installed deck had completed the county inspection.   The subcontractor who had built the small patio, I would give him a B-.  There were some quality issues.
  Now, for the Powerhouse Remodeling Company, I would give them a "C-".  They were very attentive when they were consulting about the deck.  Once the financing agreement was approved and signed, this was the last time I heard from them.  I thought I would hear from the company owner to ensure I was happy with his company.  Unfortunately, no response from this company.

WONDERFUL!  I have other contractors take one look at my deck and tell me that whoever built it did a great job.  Steve had to work with another contractor that was doing some stonework and asphalt work who had some difficulty keeping to schedule.  In spite of Steve's numerous efforts to contact the other contractor, he maintained his professional and patient demeanor and made every effort to work around any difficulties that arose.  I would most DEFINITELY recommend Powerhouse Remodeling to anyone and everyone.  Great Job Guys!

I enjoyed working with Steve. One thing I really liked is being able to get in touch with him if I had questions. The craftsmanship for the deck, stairs and fence are really good.
The only issue I'm having is with the stairs, unfortunately its starting to show signs of rust already =( . Hopefully something can be done about that. Overall things went well and my neighbors love the deck. People have actually come by to ask where we got it done.

We were extremely impressed with the whole process from start to finish.  We were already familiar with this company and the work they did because they built our beautiful deck.  We decided to use these guys again based on their reputation and the fantastic job they did on our deck and they did not disappoint.  The crew they sent out was beyond amazing!  They arrived on Friday morning at 8 sharp working all through the day and came back Saturday morning to work some more but to my surprise FINISH the job!  We can't say enough great things about their work.  It speaks for itself!  Thank you Powerhouse for everything!  We have enjoyed our deck for the last three years and now we have a beautiful patio to go with it to enjoy!  It's a long awaited dream come true! 

Work was done on time. The only problem was some confusion about the type of window we ordered. We thought we were ordering all slide windows, but some of them were crank windows - what they call "casement" windows. This type of window was never discussed by the salesman. The order form was hard to read, as it was an NCR copy and hand written. This was disappointing. Other than that, it went well. The windows look great and work well.

If you are looking for a great contractor that uses top quality materials and products, then Power House Remodeling is the company for you.  After getting three proposals, we decided to go with Power House Remodeling, which was the middle estimate.
When the owner, Steve Edwards, came to our home to give us a proposal for a patio and vinyl fence, my husband and I were impressed with his professionalism and thoroughness of his presentation.  He was prepared and seemed to know alot about the products that his company uses.  He listened to our needs and we welcomed his suggestions and expertise.
It was nice to see a variety of picture's of the work that his company had performed to help us with making the best design choices for our patio and fence.  
From start to finish, the job took only three days. There was great communication throughout the process and my calls were always returned promptly. 
First, Steve's construction crew built our 374 sq. ft, Techo Bloc Patio in just two days.  Talk about teamwork and amazing craftsmanship, these guys were unstoppable and so efficient.  They worked from sun-up to sun-down nonstop.  It is very evident that they take pride in their work.  The grounds stayed very neat and free of debris throughout the project. I have never seen a more dedicated crew with such great work ethics.  Also, they were very nice.
Secondly, our vinyl fence was installed in just one day.  The construction crew was different from the one's that installed the patio, but was just as professional with great workmanship.  Again, they kept the grounds free of debris and very neat as well as doing a great job.
The finished product far exceeded our expectations.  We were so impressed with the quality of materials they used and with the entire staff of Power House Remodeling.  They truly care about the quality of work they deliver.
We would like to thank everyone that was involved with our project and would definitely use them again in future projects.   I would highly recommend this contractor to anyone.  

We selected this company for several reasons.  The salesman/estimator, Kip, was professional, knowledgeable, and interested in what we were trying to accomplish.  He had several creative suggestions.  Additionally, we were impressed with the explanation of the quality of the deck and patio that was to be constructed.  Finally, Steve Edwards, the owner of the company, was personable, knowledgeable, and was willing to work with us on price, including some extras that we asked for as the project was underway.  As far as construction goes, the deck carpenter, Reuben, is a master at his art.  (Kip, the salesman, had told us that we would be impressed with Reuben's work ethic and craftsmanship.  He wasn't kidding.)  Reuben had an assistant to help him tear down our old deck, dig new holes, and to cart down the wood, but for all intents and purposes, Reuben built the deck himself.  It looks beautiful (the lighting suggested by Steve, the owner, worked well) and is sturdy as a fortress.  Reuben was also very polite, kept the yard in order, making sure to clean up debris and tools at the end of every day.  We were also very pleased with the patio.  The construction crew was efficient, kept the debris cleaned up, and the patio and lighting are beautiful. The only issue we had was an electrical problem after the deck and patio were built.  Powerhouse wasn't as responsive as I had expected (based on the experience with the construction).  It took a few weeks to get someone out to look at it.  (In their defense, it was at the height of the construction season).  Ultimately, they solved the problem which had nothing to do with their workmanship and everything to do with our phone/TV service being on the same cirucut as the deck lighting.  The Powerhouse electrician diagnosed and solved the problem.  Bottome - We are very satisfied with Powerhouse.  I'd recommend this company to anyone.  It's personal service and high quality craftsmanship.

I cannot recommend this company.  The quality and timeliness of the work were marginal to poor.  When issues were brought to the owner's attention, he became argumentative, obstinate, and refused to address them.  We ended up having to work through the owner's former business partner in order to get the issues resolved.  I will never use this company again for anything.

I had searched Angie's List  and selected 5 providers to interview, not including Power, mostly because Power is not located in our immediate area. But a day or two later a knock of our front door by a young man who  made a brief but very impressive presentation on Power resulted in an appointment with a sales rep. the following day.  The rep., Daniel Welsh, was  well prepared with an extremely professional presentation including samples of materials and answers to all the questions we had.  Including the time he spent in the attic, measuring the exterior, etc. he was here almost 5 hours.  Although, it is pricy, It seemed to be a very stable company (checked ratings, etc. on the web after Daniel left.).  The final factor in the decision was that Power does not require a down payment, mid-point payment or any payment until the work is finished and you are satisfied. There was a minor scheduling glitch that didn't cause any inconvienence but otherwise all went well and the finished product looks quite nice.  The one small issue that came up with the front gutter a day or two after installation was addressed within 24 hours. They do contract with local firms which said they had Power traininc,  wore Power tee shirts and hats and preformed efficiently and answered any questions we asked appropriately  Yes, we would consider them for future projects.

   1.  If you are looking for a contractor that is honest, actually cares about the quality of work he delivers to his clients--then
look no further!   Working with Steve Edwards (owner of Power House Remodeling) and his team was such an easy experience. They listened to our needs and delivered a product that far exceeded our expectations.  Steve came out  at least 4 times to go over plans and make any changes that we discussed.  Steve's suggestions were invaluable to our finished product.   
    2.  Our lead carpenter for our project was Greg Stabler. We found his work to be excellent.   Greg's carpentry crew were all very professional and they all seemed to take pride in the work they were preforming.  The entire team's work ethic  was exceptional.
    3.  What once was a blah and rotting three tiered deck is now  a beautiful screened in porch, a deck surrounding a spa and
stone patio.  We could not be more pleased.  
    I like to think of Power House Remodeling as Woodbridge's gem.  Thanks to everyone involved with our project.

It was a pleasure dealing with Steve, he was very accommodating and easy to talk to (when you could get him).
The work crews did excellent work and we are quite happy with the end result!

However, it was oftentimes very hard to get in touch with Steve (even in the late fall, when business should be slower).
In addition, there were a couple of times when things could have been handled better.
When the county told us that we would need a variance, his initial response was something to the effect of, 'you have to deal with them'!
Ultimately, they came through, but it was a bit disconcerting and overwhelming as the county required numerous mechanical drawings, as well as percentages of covered area, etc.

It was at this point that Steve brought in Ken Phelps. Ken took over this part of the process and did a superb job of getting their paperwork completed and getting it submitted.
Alas, although we were dealing with this in early July, they missed the submission date with the county and we ended up with an October hearing.

Powerhouse provided a high quality work on building our deck and patio, offered fair price, and had excellent customer service! Mr Edwards and crew were professional, ethical, experienced, and knowledgeable of the deck and patio business. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this contractor to all and will definitely use this company for future business.

It went well.  No problems.  It was a quick turn around and good quality work.

I did not decide to do business with them.

The overall experience was outstanding.  PowerHouse was very professional and responsive to all of our needs.  We were looking for a patio to be finished by the 4th of July and with only one week to spare, PowerHouse delivered.  The price was fair and the workmanship and quality were excellent.  Everything was handed with professionalism and my wife and I couldn't be happier.  The patio was a hit at our 4th of July party and I have already recommended PowerHouse to two of my friends.

WOW!  Ruben did an incredible job.  It may not have been a large, money-making job for them but they treated us as if it were.  I couldn't be happier.  The price was definitely reasonable.  I couldn't believe Ruben did it all by himself in 5 days.  He worked really hard and answered all questions and concerns that we had.  He said when he started that we would be happy and we definitely were.  I wish there were more townhouses in our neighborhood with porches so we could recommend Power House to everyone.  I was impressed because Power House guarantees the surface materials we chose so if for some reason something goes wrong we don't have to try to get the manufacturer to make it right.  We can deal locally, directly with Steve.  The Homeowners Association was also impressed with our choice of surface and thought it was going to make a beautiful improvement.  Only problem --- now I have to get the house pressure washed so it won't make my beautiful new porch look shabby.

The overall experience was excellent. My criteria for choosing a contractor were: 1) a local business; 2) demonstrated quality workmanship; and 3) reputable, with a history of high recommendations. Power House Remodeling, Inc. is a local company, and its employees live here, too ? they?re my neighbors in this community. As a supporter of local industry, Power House easily met my first criterion. I examined one of their deck projects and compared Power House?s work to that of other contractors. Power House?s building principles and attention to detail met my standards, and then some. As a student of construction, this was important. I knew what I wanted, and have studied enough to know good construction practices from those that merely meet minimum requirements. Power House?s workmanship far exceeded my expectations; thus, satisfying my second criterion. I researched Power House Remodeling, Inc. on Angie?s List where I found Power House?s customer satisfaction rating to be almost exclusively A?s. Their lone non-A rating was a B, and it appeared to result from miscommunication; not repeated in my experience. My last criterion met. Power House Remodeling was one of four contractors that bid on my job. They were not the most expensive, nor were they the least. What Power House was, however, was the most knowledgeable about construction practices, structural solutions, and building code requirements. That was important to me, because I had structural issues that required special remediation; remediation that would meet code, but also satisfy my desire to preserve a legacy design and previous remodeling work. Power House came up with an elegant solution that both satisfied my requirements and met State and local building standards. Power House Remodeling, Inc. is a highly professional company. They delivered what they promised when they promised it. They started and finished the project on schedule. They communicated with me regularly. I was always clear about what they were doing and why. They used quality building materials, far superior to those available at nearby home centers. Their job site was always impeccable and totally cleaned at the end of each work day. One could not ask for more. I will gladly show off my deck to anyone Power House might send my way, and will certainly give them my highest recommendation whenever asked.

The good part about them is that they certainly have pride over the quality of their work, but I had a number of problems in the end. So I am not satisfied with them at all. I contacted them after I got a brochure in the mail and I then looked them up on a magazine.

They carried the specialty screen that rolls up into itself and they are the only ones that have it in our area. The lady on the phone was very friendly and gave me all the information and then gave me an estimate. All I had to do was measure my doorway. They were able to schedule the installation within 2 weeks. The 2 installers were very professional and got right to work. They showed me how to use it and made an adjustment when I pointed something out. I haven't had any problems and I was very happy with the product. It was a pricey thing but I couldn't find a competitor.

We got off to a slow start but everything went well. We live in a neighborhood with very picky and strictly enforced architectural review board guidelines, and it was a bit hard to convince the Powerhouse folks that when we wanted a permit, we really meant it. Once that was straightened out, things went fine.

Overall, everything went well. Steve was very responsive and he was nice to deal with. The only reason I didn't give them an overall rating of "A" was because of dealings with my contractor (Nelson). He was a really nice guy, but I didn't feel like he kept me very well informed. That's not to say he wasn't trying to contact me - because he did try calling and left me voice mails, however, one morning I looked out my back door and my porch was gone. I guess I would have just liked to have given them the verbal "ok" to get started before they just went ahead and removed my back porch. But, other than that, I'm very happy with it! The porch is gorgeous!
