Paciorek Electric, Inc is located in the Northampton, MA area. The business was started by Timothy M. Paciorek, Electrician in 1997 and became incorporated in 2006. With ten employees, we're small enough to have that "personal touch" but also big enough to take on most jobs. We strive to give great customer service, from returning phone calls to wearing clean shoes or shoe "booties". We take much pride in our work! We regularly attend training and seminars to better ourselves and the services we offer. Please read our company history and strict "code of ethics" on our website, PaciorekElectric.com. While you're at PaciorekElectric.com, you will find various links, our company history & code of ethics, and a special customer "free" help page that will help answer some common questions. We are still in the process of building more into the site from energy calculation costs and many other ideas, so check back frequently!

"Arrived on time and overall did a great job, only thing was a small hole accidentally drilled into the floor by accident. The charger works great and wiring was done well."

Founded in 1994 by Al Powers, Powers Guaranteed Services (PGS) began by providing standby generator installation and service to the New England area. Over 28 years later, we have grown from a one-person operation to a company of over 70 valuable staff members and technicians who align on our core values of integrity, service, and communication, and we keep our word to our customers by consistently applying these values to each job we perform. PGS proudly employs licensed electricians, gas fitters, and EGSA-Certified generator service technicians (a certification which is earned by only a few generator technicians in the Northeast). Our factory-trained staff is continually expanding their knowledge to ensure we stay current on the latest developments within the industry.

"1) Installation with somewhat unique location and entrance into the house of electrical and gas lines. Electricians and Gas Pipefitter did excellent quality work, timely, neat, good steady pace throughout the day, including inevitable trouble-shooting. Site well-cleaned up afterwards. 2) & 3) Annual service agreements for both generator and minisplits always timely, well-executed, skilled personnel, and always polite."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

The majority of potential burglars are amateurs looking to make a quick buck after breaking and entering. By installing motion-sensor lights, alarm systems, and security cameras, throughout the home, there’s a good chance you will deter crime on your property.

Landscape lighting costs about $4,000 on average, ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on the amount of lighting, type of lights, and your location. Additional cost factors include any electrical work, excavation and trenching, and the current landscaping that the contractor has to work around. You can expect to pay an average of $100 for pathway and string lighting, and about $700 for lamp post lighting.

Yes, the outdoors is one of the areas where GFCI is always required. The receptacles used outdoors must have a ground-fault circuit interrupter, or GFCI, for safety reasons. Not only does GFCI make it safer for operation even in wet locations, including bathrooms, outdoors, basements, and other areas, but also they’ll automatically trip if there’s an imbalance in the circuit, keeping you safe from electrocution and decreasing the risk of an electrical fire.
