"They came and measured chimneys on the first visit (2 large chimneys, three stories up). Caps were delivered a week or so later. They came back and installed them. Professional and punctual. Answered all of my questions. Great to work with."

"Arrived on time, they service techs were very friendly. They did point out a crack on the chimney outside, but then proceeded to try and sell me a chimney cap for the rest of the appointment. Quality work, but a bit too sales driven for me."

"It was great. Royal Roofing came in with the low quote of three that I got. We have a big roof with multiple ridges and hips. We also have a large chimney and two skylights. We have had two major thunderstorms since then and no leaks. Also, we had solar panels on the roof that were taken off for there job to be done. When the panels were put back up one of the workers asked who did the roof because he was so impressed with the job that they did."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

Regular cleaning of filters and checking ducting ensures effective operation.

Typically 1-2 hours, factoring in ductwork and electrical connections.

By positioning ductwork for optimal airflow and reducing potential leaks.

Smooth galvanized metal ducting is best and safest for venting a hood range. It’s best to avoid flexible and corrugated types of ducting, as these options don’t provide ample airflow and may not meet local code. For specific advice on which type of duct might be best for your kitchen, reach out to a range hood installation professional.
