"I highly recommend Sunday Landscaping. Dave responded right away with my quote for a fall clean up and was at my house within the week. Did a great job and for no additional charge offered to come back in December to clean up rest of leaves that would have fallen at end of season."

"Gustavo called the day I submitted the request and came out to take a look later that day. He was great - explained our options for tree removal. We agreed on which trees and how to leave the stumps (grinding down or outright removal to be determined later with other projects). We agreed on a price and because he had another job in our area, he was able to fit us in the following day. The day of, his crew arrived early. We had coffee ready or them and gave them the run of the kitchen and one of our two bathrooms. All were really nice and got to work right away removing two very large trees and one much smaller one. They were done in about 6 hours. Gustavo and crew cleaned up the entire sideboard and with the exception of the stumps, you would not know the work was just done. They were just fabulous and we are considering them for future tree removal projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"The J.A.E. Crew did a great job removing some trees and large limbs from my property. Stump grinding too! They cleaned up after they were done. Great value! I hired them after getting several other quotes. They asked questions to make sure they did the job right. Thanks J.A.E.! I would hire again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can prune a palm tree with a chainsaw, but a chainsaw is overkill for a job like this. You risk damaging the tree if you make a bad cut. More commonly, you’ll need pruning shears or a serrated knife to trim a palm tree, or you can use a specialized pruning saw instead of a chainsaw.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

In most cases, leaving tree roots underground is not a problem if the stump has been removed or ground below the soil. However, some larger roots may decompose, leaving dents in your soil. Additionally, some aggressive trees, including willows, oaks, elms, maples, and poplars may grow back from roots. Large aggressive trees with established root systems are more likely to grow back.

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.
