Jeff is absolutely awesome!! He knows SO much about trees, and how to keep them healthy and thriving. So many tree companies just want to take trees down; not these guys. They know what to do to help trees do their best! They pruned our large trees out front, one large limb removal, and did some fertilizer applications. Just having him walk around my yard to see how my other trees were doing was SO helpful, a few little pieces of advice he gave me about how to take care of them were awesome. His advice to add a cable to support to a few precarious limbs were just the advice I was looking for.

SavATree isn't cheap, but they are professional and know what they are doing, so it is well-worth it if your job requires proper tree trimming.

Very disappointing experience in the level of professionalism and customer service. The cost of the work was very high, the workers ran their truck over my lawn leaving tire marks and digging up grass and the worst part is: one year later I get charged for a "continuous service" which was 1) stated in very small fine print in the contract and; 2) for which I never received a reminder that they were going to do the work. Unreal. I would avoid choosing SavATree, There are plenty of good arborists in the metrowest and boston area that will treat you ethically and won't rip you off.

I first hired SavATree to save my river birches from what they correctly diagnosed as a beetle infestation. Since then, I have hired them twice to do trimming on trees and annually to feed the trees and shrubs. Jeff Borque has already responded quickly to my calls, coming out to give estimates within a week. He is a helpful explainer about what needs to be done and what can be done, letting me weigh my options against the cost. Very pleased with the services provided. My only note of caution is with their billing department, which doesn't always keep track of things. They do adjust their books when I verify a payment has already been made. But twice in five years I've had to dispute a bill when they neglected to record my payment.

I contacted SavATree to get an estimate for removal of some large branches that had come down after a recent round of winter storms, especially a large one that didn't quite come all the way down and was still suspended near house. Maureen arranged for someone to come out the next day. Rafael arrived promptly at the arranged time and was a pleasure to deal with. Although I wasn't feeling any urgency to get the work done, Rafael thought it was best to get it taken care of as soon as possible as he could see the potential hazard should the large branch shift and place the house in jeopardy. He gave me a price and said he would try to get a crew out the next morning. I'm no expert on the price of tree services, but the price he quoted me was in the ballpark of what I thought it might cost, so I agreed to go with them without getting other estimates. Crew arrived as arranged early the next morning, were professional and courteous, removed all of the downed branches (some of which required some impressive acrobatics), disposed of / chipped all of the debris, and left the area clean. Very happy with all aspects of their service, and would recommend them to anyone looking to have similar work done.

Everything went great. Jeff showed up right on schedule, and explained everything in the perfect amount of detail. He and his team very quickly took care of all the work, even in very inclement New England weather. I really appreciate the extra effort they put in. My only concern was we had absolutely no warning when he was coming for the actual work, so some vehicles were in the way of the technicians. Other than that, no complaints.

Rafael and the crew were very pleasant and professional. They did a great job pruning my tree from the beginning to the completion. Rafael went over the entire scope of the process and he explained that the tree might have "open areas" due to the thinning...however the crew made choice decisions and it looks much better than I expected. After they were done, they thoroughly remove all the branches and cleaned the area. I did think the cost was a little steep but then again I wasn't the one climbing to the very top of this tree :) Thank you.

I will start by saying Alton was very pleasant and wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer. He came out when planned. I was given a written detailed estimate and the project was scheduled. This is when it turned bad. The workers came out on the schedule day and had a written report of what the job was. If I wasn't home I would have never thought they came. The 3 workers did about and hour and half of work and thought they were done. They did so little trimming I could have done the work myself. I told them the job was not done. Immediately the foreman called Alton. Alton must have confirmed that I was to be satisfied. I wasn't asking for anything I didn't pay for and wasn't agreed upon up front. Well the workers must of been unhappy they couldn't leave. They continued on working until my front foundation bushes were butchered. One of the tall trees was hacked. While the worker was up in the tree he was yelling down to his peers that i was looking out the window. I was looking just because now I don't trust them. My neighbors were outside and could hear his outbursts. The side trees that were to be bracketed were not all done. When I checked them later in the day one of the brackets already popped off and was lying on the ground. A little while after they left I went out to survey the work. As I said it was terrible. The quality of work was so poor I cannot imagine they call themselves arborists. My front bushes were butchered. I did tell Alton all of this and he did sent out a different crew to fix one tree and finish the brackets but there was no fixing the damage done from the first crew. I would not recommend them. I would not use them again.

They damaged the lawn, but the guy fixed it. That's why I hired them to come back. In one hour he fixed the lawn that someone else destroyed completely. I told the owner and he came in and fixed everything himself and the lawn is looking better than before. The grass wasn't growing from the lack of the sunlight.

Weeks later, when the work could be done, the pruner showed up and started hacking away all of the lower branches of the first tree. I couldn't get out to the hack job in time to save the tree from becoming Q-tip shaped. Either Jeff didn't tell his guy the specifics of this job, or the guy didn't listen. His excuse was, "it's next to a driveway. This is how we do a tree by a driveway." I was furious, but never yelled at anyone. Jeff never really took full responsibility. He made little cuts in the trunk suggesting they could spur branch growth, and he offered fertilizer treatments. He also offered to come back and prune again. They never really finished pruning the other two trees. The plum was rife with little sucker growth after the job. The other cherry they hardly brought down in height, though they did do a nice job of clearing the interior growth. The following year, after it was clear there was no new growth and the trees looked dorky and horrible, Jeff offered to come back the next winter to do a proper trimming. I waited and waited, but he never contacted me. Finally, when it was too late to to do it right, I called him and he sent out his manager in the spring. I lost the crop for that year--he pruned all the buds. In addition, though he said I wanted an "orchard pruning" he left pom poms at the end of the branches. Not what I have seen in orchards. So this year I thought I'd take them up on the unconditional guarantee and just have them take out the ruined cherry tree. It's right outside my kitchen window and it just makes me sad. But, today I got a bill from Sav-A-Tree. They invoiced me for work that was done in Colorado! It was entirely the wrong billing. I cancelled the removal because who knows what could happen next. I can't trust to let them any where near my yard.

All was done very smoothly and well. Easy to reach and schedule estimate. Then, work was done when expected, the pruning was perfect, and debris cleaned up afterward.. Very expert - Jeff and also the crew were all pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. Really couldn't ask for a better tree service - so we will hire again for any future tree work.

Excellent. Matt Gulla provided the estimate and returned prior to the job to verify the work to be done. He was on time and courteous. His written estimate matched a verbal estimate he gave me at the time of the first visit. Maureen, at the Lincoln office was responsive to my calls for scheduling and price verification when I adjusted the work to be done. The work crew, headed by Mark McDonald, arrived when scheduled and did a fabulous and careful job.

Great. I researched about 8 companies and this one was most economical price wise. Plus very knowledgable and reliable. Also, there were roots sticking out of the ground after grinding down stump and they came back to grind them more at no charge. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Not only do they do the work, but they actually save the tree. They used a creative use of wire reinforcement to save a tree so it wouldn't fall apart in the winter. It is aesthetic and durable. The arborist really knows his stuff.

Initially it was very good and the price was fine. Subsequently, they have been a little more expensive and I haven't used them. If their price was good, I would use them again.
