They did a terrific job. We coordinated work with neighbor and got a little discount to do the job same day as our neighbor. They were very knowledgeable. Fair price, better than others who gave us an estimate. Highly recommend!

Over the years they've take down quite a number of huge trees for us. They're very good, we've always like them. They're very professional, reasonable, responsible, neat and clean. Their men are fast and they know exactly what they're doing.

The work was beyond what I would have expected them to do. They did tree removal earlier. I thought their price was reasonable.

Maltby's crane operator stopped over to scope out the job before, and I was assured they could reach the trees and the driveway/pavers would be fine. It went so smoothly, fascinating to watch. The crew was most professional, worked long and hard and safely. I have had lots of tree work done in the past and this, by far, was the best!

On October 12, Maltby tree removed the limb from the roof, but left 1/2 the tree and a very, very large limb on my lawn. Craig from Maltby said they would return 1 week later to complete the job. On the morning Maltby was to return, Craig told me that the power company, Eversource, had ordered them to halt the job until they could do an inspection. I asked for the contact person at Eversource and Craig told me he didn't know who to speak with although he had spoken with them. I contacted Craig several times over the next few days and finally, on October 21, Craig provided me with the contact at Eversource. I reached the Eversource contact immediately, who told me that they had already inspected the tree and had spoken with Craig and gave the okay for Maltby to finish the job. I also spoke with the city arborist who informed me the remaining tree was extremely dangerous and should be removed immediately as it was not stable. The city arborist told me he had spoken to Craig at Maltby about the tree hazard. I spoke with Craig that day, October 21, and he informed me that the tree was not a hazard and Maltby would not return to complete the removal until December 12, 2016. I relayed what the city arborist said about immediate removal and Craig told me that if I wanted it removed sooner, I could contract with another company for emergency removal as he did not consider it an emergency. I asked about removing the large limb that was left on my lawn (and killing my vegetation), and he said he would see about it. Multiple phone calls and texts from myself and neighbors about the urgency of the tree produced no results. On November 7, 2016, the city arborist and an aborist from Eversource came to inspect the tree again. Both the city and Eversource arborist expressed that the tree was extremely dangerous and needed to be removed immediately. I explained that I had been trying for about a month to get Maltby to complete the job and had expressed the danger and urgency of the situation to Craig with no result. Eventually, Eversource decided to remove the tree and completed the job on November 18, 2016. Maltby did not complete the contracted job in a timely manner and left an unstable hazardous tree standing in spite of please from myself, my neighbors, the city arborist, and Eversource to remove the tree immediately for the safety of myself and my neighbors.

It was a disaster! The workers did not do what the salesperson (who is related to the company owners) indicated they would do. They left the very large trees with lion tail branches. This was totally contrary to what the salesperson promised. I had informed him that we did not want the branches totally stripped of the foliage. (We have been caring for these trees for many years and I told him specifically that we did not want to be left with "lion tail" branches.) He promised they would be judicious and only remove every other one of the small branches that were offshoots of the main branches in the tree. Apparently he did not convey this to his workers as they did exactly what I had asked them NOT to do. The salesperson also assured us the staff were experts, but based on the outcome, it seems they were not very experienced. I would not recommend this company at all! Note: the photo attached to this review was taken approximately 15 months after this company pruned the trees.

It went very well. The tree was in the backyard with no appropriate access so they had to park on the front lawn and use a very large crane to get over the house. They came on time, went about their work, cleaned up very well, and left. It took them about 1/2 day. There was no damage to the lawn. We called the company to tell them what a great job they did as we didn't see them to tell them before they left. Very professional.

I found Craig the owner to be very knowledgeable. He came out to give me the estimate and taught me about the health of trees. He's an Arborist. He didn't hesitate to educate me, and I love that. I found Dan and Jason, the workers, did a great cleanup and a great job. I would hire them again in a heart beat. They are very professional, were on time, and very reasonable in price. The guys were even dressed very professionally! When you cut down trees, it can get very messy. They swept my entire driveway, which is a very big driveway. They went above and beyond! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

From the initial assessment and estimate, through the pruning and final clean-up, everyone from Maltby & Co. was very professional and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Both trees now look great! I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them to friends.

Our residencial property was so overgrown with large trees and shrubs, that grass was no longer growing on the lawn.  We received a detailed, species specific 2 page proposal after their Certified Arborist walked the property with me and made extensive notes.  The crew showed up on time as promised and completely removed a weeping Alaskan cedar, a dogwood, a pine, a mock orange, a second cedar, two hemlocks, multiple yews and rhododendrons.  As agreed, they waited until a number of trees had been removed or trimmed and allowed me to then make a final decision on two that I wasn't sure about previously.  They were left alone.  With the Aerial Lift, they pruned 4 huge mature King Crimson Norway Maples, a 65 foot pine, a Japanese Cedar (cryptomeria), a black cherry, a row of mature Japanese maples and the showpiece of the back yard; my 70+ foot high Atlas Mountain Spruce from Mt, Kilimanjaro.  These are some monster trees!  This was a two day project and I was very pleased with the workmanship, the care they took with my property and how well they worked with me throughout.  You can see our house from the street for the first time in years.  People driving to our house have started to drive past it, not recognizing it.  We have received many complements from the neighbors.

Maltby Co. was professional, they cut 2 large limbs hanging over my house and 2 smaller trees. The price was very reasonable
considering they had to use a large crane and a crew of 6-7 men.  Again they were professional, they took all the wood and and shredded it in their wood chipper and left the job site clean. I highly recommend them and would use them again.
