Bartlett Tree Experts - 11416

Three or four attempts of asking for an estimate only to be finally told that they can't do the work. My personal time doesn't seem that important to them.

Quite a difference from our experience of using their services last year. Last year's rep was sympathetic, accommodating, and helpful, and the crew they sent did exactly what we had asked. This year's rep seemed slightly hostile, and his estimate included work I had specifically declined. I won't be using their services again.

it took two months to finally schedule a date for work to be done. Part of it was getting our neighbors permission since it was their tree. But that was probably no more than a week. Two workers showed up on the scheduled day and started working on the oak tree. I reiterated what I wanted and the onsite person kept telling me this is what the work order stated. So I let them do their work. I should have known better to send them away and deal with the person I initially did from day one. This person should have also picked up the phone and talked to him directly since I was questioning the job. He was the one that should have been at my house that morning to make sure the job was going properly. Maybe an hour or two after they had the bucket truck over my house which I was told was not going to be needed I heard a loud noise as if something fell on my house. It woke up my husband who works nights but he didn't realize that the load bang noise was what woke him up he just heard all the noise from the truck and chain saws. I happen to be working and on the phone at the time and actually forgot about it. Until later that day. I went outside when I heard no noise at all thinking how can they be done and asked if that was all that was being taken off. It wasn't much at all. Told they will climb to finish which again was no where close to what I thought was coming off. They supposedly finished the oak and took a lunch. They returned and my husband went out with me and asked that's all?? The lead guy so we thought told us him and his partner pruned the tree according to the work order If he were to do more something about the integrity of the tree. So my husband said your the experts. In turn his response was you would think so. Which did not sit well with me at all. I did not think these men were professional from the beginning. They then proceeded to the side of the house to deal with the aborvitae trees. And my husband and I watched them this time from our house. They hardly took off anything and one of the climers was in the aborvitae trees?? Our aborvitae trees are extremely tall and hitting street wires. They did not use the truck which in order to take off the height you would need the truck.Still looks the same today. Supposedly they were done and my husband spoke to them. Again they brought up the integrity of the oak if more were to come off because this is not what we wanted. This tree still has heavy limbs hanging over our house. I questioned the aborvitae trees and he said you want to see what we took off? he could show me he already put it through the chipper. I didn't want to deal with them anymore so once they left I called the salesperson who initially came out to give quotes and he said that my husband was happy?? I said what? And went over the issue with the oak and the arborvitae with him. He said he would have to contact them and get back to me. It wasn't until later when my husband noticed the mess on the porch and then decided to go on the roof that the noise I heard may have been a branch, chain saw or even the bucket truck hitting our roof. My husband noticed dents in our roof in the same area in which they were working. He was not happy that they didn't even take a leaf blower to blow off the debris on the roof or deck. He then went to our attic and that is when he noticed that our roof started caving in. Looked like the wood was cracked and something hit the roof. We had the salesperson and area manager out on the roof a few days later and there wS some discrepancies in what the two workers said. I got the impression that theses guys did drop something on our roof and denied it. I did call Bartletts insurance co and they sent someone out and I also called a roofer on my own. Bartletts insurance co denied the claim which they blamed on previous work we had done in our kitchen? Our roof is damaged and the work done was not to our specification. So we have to pay another tree co to finish what they didn't and get someone to fix our roof properly so we don't have any issues. I can say that they have been the worst contractor I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with many contractors personally and professionally. I would never refer anyone to these people. Maybe it's only a division and the others are great but Go with a local family run business . In my opinion those have been the best I've worked with. And after all this I get billed for the oak tree! They did not charge for the aborvitae trees. Not a happy customer and now not too sure I even want to use Angies list anymore.

They are very professional, preform as promised and provide quality services.

Bartlett was highly responsive and did great work. I could have called the town to do it for free but I knew that Bartlett would not only deal with the safety situation but would also make the aesthetics and health of our tree a top priority. While onsite they pruned back a number of other problem limbs. These folks truly understand trees.

Came on time and got the job done in one day.

The work went very well, tree trimming was scheduled and the pest and disease services as needed on a schedule over 6 visits during the growing season. Clean up after tree trimming was excellent and I found that the recommended tree spraying did help leave drop, brown spot and fungus issues.

Work was completed exactly as specified. Excellent trimming with detail to shape and future growth. Follow-up visit which included some additional trimming.

They were very professional. A tree expert came the day after I called and reviewed the work and gave me an estimate. The work was done within a few days. Work was precisely done and site was thoroughly cleaned up.

Bartlett sent out a rep almost immediately after we called, inspected the trees in our backyard, and quoted several levels of tree service. Trimming branches away from the roofline and deck were our principal concerns, so we went forward with that job. Crew was out within a couple of weeks and did a beautiful job, leaving no debris.

Went great. Quickly, efficiently and cleanly. I can't remember the exact date or cost. Lost track of my records.

Everything went well. The work was done as agreed, and I was happy with the service.

Chris arrived promptly and explained what was going to be done in detail. He was very professional and completed the removal of the stumps. There were 2 rather large stumps and two small ones. The dirt that was disturbed from the removal or the stumps was leveled off evenly. There was a layer of fresh loam spread over the area and the area was seeded with grass seed. The area surrounding the stumps that were removed was cleaned and very well done.

They are very accommodating and prompt. They are really good and does an excellent job. He comes and inspects based on what he sees before he sends out the contract. He's a certified arborist and when there's an emergency he quickly comes.

They were absolutely wonderful. They did a fabulous job on my trees. They worked for hours. They had given me a price, and the hours that they put in on the trees must have been much more than the estimate but they never charged me any more than their first estimate and the trees look beautiful. I asked them to prune another tree which they did without any extra charge, so I was very pleased with them. I really don’t know how to rate them on price. That was the company I called and I didn’t compare it to any other. It was sometimes hard to get in touch with the first guy and when they finally came, they came without calling me, so I sent them away because I wanted to be there when they came and I was going out but then the second time they came they asked if it was a good time so I could be there and they cleaned up the street afterwards. We could never know that they had been there. They were great. They were professional. The two young men and the guy who initially contacted were all professional. I would definitely use them again.

The representative came to the house. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He identified the tree problems that I had in mind and found a few more things I hadn't noticed. I was inclined to give him my business. However, it took a long time to receive the quote (compared to the competition) and he did not reply in a reasonable time when I emailed questions about the quote. Therefore, I gave the business to another company, which seemed to have similar expertise and a comparable price. I would consider this company again, depending how things go when the other company actually performs the work.

They were polite, prompt and cleaned up after the job.

I had a very positive experience with them. Their price was equivalent to the other companies I contacted. I did not go with them because they were busier than the other companies and could not do the job in a shorter time frame. Two companies gave me a week to ten days time and they gave me ten to fourteen days. They were responsive; the person they sent came out in a very reasonable time and gave me the estimate. He was very punctual and very professional. He told me he was going to be there at 10:30. I got a call from him at 10 o’clock saying he may be a few minutes late but he actually ended up showing two minutes early. I would consider using them in the future if I have a need.

The ornamental plum literally came back to life overnight and looks wonderful. However, they added a boost to another small tree in our front yard that was struggling. I don't know what they used but 1 week later, the tree was dead. It may have been headed in that direction no matter what, but the feed they used seemed to fry it. Overall, Bartlett is a little pricey, but they are very prompt and professional. They will keep an eye on all your trees. I will continue to use them but those looking for a cheaper solution may be better served elsewhere...

These guys are totally professional. They look you in the eye and introduce themselves, ask any clarifying questions about the job, and do the work. When I come back from work it's hard to tell there was every a tree there. I have used them a number of times.

They were amazing, and did an amazing job in terms of the cleanup. One of the stumps got ground to the ground. I did a comparison of the price and it was actually good. I would rate them highly. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Depending on the viability of the pine trees Bartlett planted, they may have successfully converted a customer that was originally unhappy, to one that is now satisfied ....no small feat. Their customer service rep expressed regret over the initial service, and was willing to go to some length to make it right. I very much appreciated his offer to personally provide me with a pruning tutorial of sorts. He clearly knows his craft and my wife is thrilled with the results. The jury is still out on the long term viability of the trees, but all looks fine for now. I'll report back on whether or not they take root and flourish.

The job went very well - Brad was on time for the estimate which went well and very quickly. He was professional and appeared to know what he was talking about. The technician seems to have done a good job of applying the pesticide and hopefully the hemlock woolly adelgid will not be infesting our tree much longer. We don't like to use any pesticides but in this case it was the only thing with a chance of saving our beautiful hemlock tree and the soil drench is a pretty environmentally benign procedure as pesticides go.

Everybody involved seemed very knowledgeable and diligent, starting with Brad Chase, who did the initial walk-through and assessment. Although the cost of the one-time restorative pruning seemed high at first, we were catching up with several years of neglect. There were two arborists on site for two plus days and they did a careful job, except, oddly, for not cleaning up cut limbs perfectly on the last day. A different person did the pesticide treatments and he seemed to work on his own schedule. Indeed, at times we had to "chase him down" to find out when the next visit would take place.
