"Bob was great to work with. Very prompt in responding and getting information to me. I purchased shades to install on our skylights, but didn't have a tall enough ladder to reach. Bob came out, with the right equipment, installed the shades, made sure they worked, and cleaned up the area after he was done."

"I talked to this company when reviewing roofing contractors for my old cape. Chris came out, did an inspection, actually going up on part of the roof to look, and gave me his recommendations, which were in line with what I was expecting and looking for, which included avoiding leaks from ice dams that routinely form due to my house and roof design. He recommended ice and water shield and some metal sections at troublesome spots to avoid leaking at the usual sites. His estimate was prompt and reasonable for the quality and attention to details that was included in the estimate. The crew arrived promptly at 7 am, Chris got them started, then came back to inspect and finalize the job all in one day. All the men were respectful and hard working. The cleanup was top notch, and my neighbor was impressed with their speed and how the result looks. I was impressed with the level of detail of work that was done. Customer service was very good, with calls from the office to keep me informed of schedules and next steps, and all transactions online. A written detailed estimate was given up front. I would definitely recommend this crew and hire them again. Obviously we haven't had any ice dams yet since it's only October, but I will update my review with those results."

"I can’t say enough good things about Evans Roofing! My husband and I met with Dan who listened to every detail about our project replacing our very old roof and gutters Within a few hours that same day Dan sent us a very reasonable quote to do both roof and gutters. Within 1 week the roofers were here and the roof was done in 1 day Day 2 our gutters were done The clean up was fantastic! They left the site cleaner than before they were here!! The crews were professional, polite and very kind . We did meet with another Roofing Company prior who gave us a long sales presentation and quoted us 3 times the cost to do the same job but I won’t go there because I want this review to shine for a Evans Roifing! So if you have a roofing job and gutters done go with the compnanyvthat fits your needs but please consider Evans first Thank you Ps I wish I could show pictures but can’t figure out how ☺️"

"The owner John Carroll responded to our request for an estimate. He showed the window unit described above and explained all the details and components of the window and the installation process.
We talked about the time for fabrication and the time for the installation. He applied the Angie's discount to arrive at a reasonable estimate. This was not the lowest estimate we received. It was the second lowest bid. We chose this contractor because of the high quality window and his excellent reputation from Angie's list.
After the windows were ordered our tenant expressed concern about the lead dust that may be present during installation, John came back to the house to drop off a copy of the EPA Lead Hazard info booklet and his Lead-Safe Renovation License. He explained that he would follow the procedure in the booklet and contain the work area in each room with heavy plastic and tape. Also all furniture would be covered. The process would minimize dust and his cleanup would meet the EPA post-renovation cleaning requirements. This set our mind at ease.
Fabrication took about 4 weeks and they were ready to do the work the following week. John arrived with his crew of 6 additional men to do the work. They were all qualified and pleasant to work with. The inside crew wore white coveralls including shoe coverings. They removed all window coverings like blinds and shades and they were happy to replace them. One other contractor, the highest bidder Rite Window, would not do this type work, US Home did the work as John had promised and completed 12 window replacements the first day. The second day (less than full) they completed all windows and spent extra time on their final cleanup. We pointed out a few things after our inspection and John had it taken care off right away.
All in all everything went as expected and we were very pleased with our experience with US Home Improvement."

"Secure Roofing was excellent! The crew was professional, and the job was completed in a very timely manner. Also, after the job was completed the area was left spotless. We are happy with the new roof."

In most cases, installing skylights will add to the value of your home, as buyers tend to like the appearance of these windows and prefer houses that let in natural light. However, savvy home buyers who know there are water damage risks with improperly installed skylights will want information on who installed the feature and when. If you can point to a professional skylight installer with experience, then the skylight is more likely to provide a better return on investment.
While it’s possible to install a skylight yourself, we don’t recommend it. DIY window installations are far more likely to leak due to improper placement technique. Making even minor mistakes could lead to thousands of dollars in water damage, meaning hiring a local skylight installer from the start would be more affordable. Plus, working on the roof is dangerous, as is maneuvering heavy, bulky windows up and into place. Even if you’re an experienced DIYer, we strongly recommend hiring a pro to install a skylight.
Skylights are the most likely windows to leak if installed improperly, so there are a few questions you should ask any skylight installer before you hire them:
Do you specialize in skylight installation or only windows in general?
Do you offer any kind of warranty for the installation?
What recourse do I have if the skylight leaks shortly after installation?
Do you have references I can speak with?
How long have you been in business?
Are you licensed and insured?
The average cost to install a skylight is about $1,850, and most homeowners pay between $450 to $5,000 each. Your total price tag will depend on many factors, including the type of roof material, the pitch of your roof, ease of accessibility, the skylight size, and the type of frame and glass you want. You can potentially lower your price if you install multiple windows or skylights simultaneously. Remember to budget $500 to $2,500 for labor costs to complete this project.
Skylights might sometimes increase your homeowners insurance premium, but the increase is usually minimal. Some home insurance companies won’t adjust your premium with the addition of a skylight, so you can contact your insurer or your professional skylight installer to ask about any expected changes. It’s crucial to have an expert install the skylight, as insurance companies may not insure your roof or cover water damage that results from a non-professional skylight installation.
