"Flavors did and outstanding job fixed our badly botched tile work in our bathroom. He is very detailed oriented and you would even know he was there when the job is complete. He is very neat and cleans throughout the project. If anyone would like to be completely satisfied hire Flavius Tile. You won't be sorry.."

"My wife and I have recently completed a remodel of our home with Brothers Remodeling. The finished product was more than we expected! The craftmanship, mindfulness, communication throughout the project, and the design ideas and improvements during the project from Art and his team turned our vision into a reality. We could not have been more satisfied with the finished product! Please do not make the mistake I made. About 3 years prior, I decided to install new floors and chose one of those big TV companies to perform the work. After Artâ  s team came in and started working, I realized even more how much of a mistake it was to choose the TV company. I end up tearing out and replacing the TV company's floors and wasted money in the process. The TV companyâ  s craftsmanship was poor at best. I had to have the kitchen floors torn out twice and replaced. Art and his team at Brothers Remodeling are truly consummate professionals!! All the sub-contractors such as plumbers, tile & floor installers, painters, and electricians treated our home throughout the process with respect and professionalism. I was never concerned about having people in my home while I was not there, and neither should you! If you need or want work performed on your home, you must go with Brothers Remodeling!! You will not regret it! As they say, â  measure twice, and cut once,â  well, with Brothers Remodeling, you only need to measure once, and cut once!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You can let the tile sit without grout. Don’t panic if there’s a delay between installing the tiles and grouting. A substantial stoppage isn't a problem, provided you keep the tile surface clear of dust and debris. Also, avoid walking over less stable ungrouted floor tiles as they are more prone to premature cracking and shifting.

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

When choosing tiles for a shower floor, avoid highly porous tile materials, like those with a water absorption rating over 7%. Don’t use non-vitreous tiles, or tiles fired at low temperatures, because they will absorb more water. If you use a highly porous tile in the shower, the tiles can wear down faster, meaning they’ll need to be replaced much sooner.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.
