"Maple Tree Services did a fantastic job cutting down the tree in our front yard. They responded quickly to my calls and questions. They skillfully took down the tree being careful not to damage the fence within close proximity. They were professional, prompt and well priced. I highly recommend Maple Tree Services to anyone needing tree removal services."

"Hired to grind 2 tree stumps, very affordable compared to other tree service providers in area. Very professional and meticulous about his work. Ground stumps with no damage to existing lawn, would definitely recommend to family and friends."

"Andrew and his crew built a hip roof over my existing front porch. My front porch is much larger than most ( 12x 11).. The cost seem high at first, however well within range of other licenced and insured contractors. Skip any contractor who is not going to pull a permit and have their work inspected . He came highlly recommended by my roofing company, as well as 2 other homeowners who had work done by his company. All had high praises for the quality of his wokmanship.. Both homeowners have had him back for other projects. The roofing company regularly recommends him and 1 other contractor if Andrew is too backed up in contracts. Yes, it is best to book early for any GOOD contractor. I believe that what sets the best contractors apart from the rest is the quality of the workers who show up to do the work. Most owners and upfront sales people talk a great sales pitch. THEN when the actual team shows up, you soon begin to realize just what you have. ARM has an amazing group oh hard woring SKILLED employees. The inspector commented on the quality of wormanship. Natually all work passed inspection. I am also booking ARM for 2 orher future projects. If you are one of those people who believes you do the work right the first time, then this is a contractor you want in your contact list. It took me quite a long time & ALOT of trial and error to finally find a good contractor.. Save yourself the effot and cost of trial & error."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property). Whether or not they top these trees depends on their approach to pruning. You won’t be able to do much to control this, but you can contact them to find out more about their pruning process.

Pruning is an effective way to prevent a diseased branch from infecting the rest of the tree. If the infection isn’t caught early enough and the pathogen has spread to the trunk or the majority of the branches though, it is too late to prune off the affected areas and you’ll likely need to remove the tree.
