"Juan was great to work with. He efficiently cleaned and serviced our Gas Boiler. He provided some education about the capability and also noted we had a great boiler that was maintaining strong water pressure and temperature. Great service. Price was appropriate for non-emergency level work! I would easily use them again."

"We had moved a lot of stuff to our basement due to a huge remodel job in our home. My son wanted to move a BowFlex to the basement and we needed to make room. We called Stephen Michael to come and move a bunch of stuff out. He arrived quickly and moved everything we needed. He was very good. He was prompt and returned the call quickly. He was a very nice guy. He was in and out in 20 minutes. I would absolutely use him again."

"They installed a new faucet in the rear of my home and replaced the front outside faucet and the cellar shutoff to it. They removed and installed a new toilet very quickly and did not encounter any issues. They were prompt and friendly and barely intruded with our normal home activities. I was amazed with the efficiency and quality of their work. I highly recommend Aquarius Plumbing. I highly recommed them."

"Very well. I had an appointment for approximately 8 AM. They were a bit late, but had called to let me know, and it wasn't a problem for me. They spent well over an hour on the job. They took a ton of lint out of the vent pipes and the dryer itself. I'm pretty sure that whoever it was I had in last time did not open up the dryer to clean it. They also installed a "bird cage" around the vent opening on the side of the house to prevent critters from getting in. (I don't think I have had problems with birds getting in, but why take the chance?) They were very thorough. The job cost more than the initial estimate, but this was because my vent pipe was longer than I had realized. It was reasonable."

"Joe came himself after a few days relay due to the weather. He and his son were very thorough, making sure the job was done right. They were also very careful that they left my house looking exactly as it did when they got here."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Steam boilers require flushing at least every six to 12 months to keep them operating effectively for as long as possible. Depending on your water quality and frequency of use, you might need to do this more frequently. The flushing process helps to remove problematic buildup of sediments. While a boiler contractor near you can perform a thorough annual flush, learning how to drain the system yourself means you can do this monthly if you experience speedy mineral accumulation because of hard water.

Costs depend on system size, efficiency rating, and additional features like zoning or smart controls.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

It can take anywhere from four hours to three days to replace a boiler with a new one. How long your particular boiler installation takes will depend on whether you need a gas line installed and if you’re switching to a new boiler system.

Replacing a combination boiler or standard boiler with the same system should only take four to six hours. Meanwhile, switching from a conventional boiler system to a combination boiler system could take a few days.

Chilled water HVAC systems use water instead of traditional components and refrigerants. They're more common in commercial settings than residential ones but are slowly being adopted by some homebuilders to cool homes. As the name implies, the system keeps the water chilled at 40 degrees and circulates it through water coils. The water absorbs the heat from your home and drains outdoors. Condo apartments are more likely to have chilled water HVAC than single-family homes because this system is designed to cool several rooms or large areas individually.
