Small jobs welcome

"I would highly recommend John P. Insulation. I got three quotes for my insulation job and they were the most professional during the estimate. They provided pictures of what they were going to do. They fully explained the job and what I should expect. The quote was fast and equal or lass than the others. On the installation day, they arrived when they said they would, covered my floors and completed the work exactly as they said they would. I had them foam seal, blow in insulation, install soffit vents and vent a bathroom fan. You will not be disappointed in the quality."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Professional crew; work was done quickly, with minimal disruption and fairly good cleanup. The house is older and the crew chief took reviewed the interior carefully to insure there would be no damage to the walls in the insulation process."

"Jacob and his team were great ! Everyone was super nice. I felt very comfortable in what I was told in regards to what needed to be done. After talking to many different insulation companies this was the only one that knew what I needed done and was able to do it at a great pirce. They managed to finish same day which was amazing. The results are so nice ! We didn't know what to expect as the end result since this is my first time dealing with insulation problems. But everything looks great !! I will definitely be going to them for any future projects. A million thanks to them ! I highly recommend these guys for your insulation needs. A trustworthy and hard working company."

"Rob was a great communicator and his promptness and knowledge were one of the main reasons we went with him over a slightly lower estimate we got. His sons did a good job of doing the work we required, which was messy work, and they left the place in pretty good shape with just some leftover bits of insulation here and there. If I have any additional insulation needs, Calnan would be my first call."

"I highly recommend Green Way. The folks from Green Way were professional and they delivered high quality work at a great price. The work involved applying foam to exposed roof deck in the attic, and applying blow-in insulation between unexposed roof deck the interior walls. I'm very pleased with the outcome."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Ductwork sweats due to a temperature difference between the air inside the ducts and the surrounding air, similar to how a cold drink develops condensation in the heat. This sweating is a sign that your HVAC system is not operating at peak efficiency. The best way to keep ductwork from sweating is to wrap it in proper insulation, which also improves your system's energy efficiency. Another option is to close off your crawl space and install a dehumidifier to dry the air and lower its dew point.

Garden blankets and frost cloths are the best things to use to protect trees and plants from frost. They are made from polypropylene fabric, which is lightweight, breathable, and dries fast. If you can’t get garden blankets or frost cloths before the freeze, you should use lightweight blankets, sheets, or towels.

Insulation can be made of cellulose, fiberglass, polyurethane, polystyrene, or mineral wool. Radiant barriers are often made of aluminum or other similarly reflective materials, but they will need to be paired with something else because they don’t provide heating benefits. Cellulose is among the most eco-friendly options and may be recycled when it’s past its shelf-life, whereas polyurethane and polystyrene both emit harmful compounds and will need to be handled with care during installation.

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.

Water heater blanket prices range from $20 to $40 on average, though you typically won’t need to spend more than $30 for all the tools and materials required for installation—which include the blanket itself, heavy-duty scissors, and electrical tape. Blankets with higher R-values will also be slightly higher in price.
