"We had a great experience with On Top Roofing. They returned my call for a quote request within one day and had someone out to give an estimate within a couple of days after that. We obtained several estimates, On Top was the only company that actually climbed up on a ladder to really look at the area of concern and where work needed to be done during the estimate. "Long Roofing went above and beyond when installing our roof and gutter. The job turned out more difficult than we thought it would be but Long Roofing made me feel comfortable and reassured that they would fix everything. Many insurance policies will not cover a roof with two layers of shingles. An additional layer of shingles increases the risk of various kinds of damage, and insurers typically won’t pay claims on a roof with an overlay. Adding a layer of shingles may even jeopardize your insurance coverage entirely, so check your policy to ensure you stay within coverage guidelines. 

Underlayment is used between existing shingles and a new metal roof to prevent friction and wear from the shingle granules on the underside of the metal. The underlayment also helps prevent water intrusion and allows expansion and contraction without wearing away at the roofing material.

Gaps between tiles are necessary to help with weatherproofing, allow for thermal expansion, and increase wind resistance. In general, a small gap no larger than 3 millimeters wide will encourage proper drainage and limit cracking. Beyond that, tiles should overlap a minimum of 3 inches, except at the eaves where they should extend to the center of the gutter.

Zinc strips require more strips than copper to cover the roof’s surface area, which means more holes in your roof. Copper strips are also more flexible and last longer than zinc strips.

You can purchase this rider to protect yourself, your wallet, and your roof from any damage that might occur from wind.
