"We were considering buying a new couch after our armless chair (part of a sectional) had some wear spots and small tears in the seating area. We decided to try reupholstery after speaking with Eddie and listening to his suggestions. He picked up the chair on Wednesday and had it back here on Friday. It looked brand new. This man is an Upholstery Genius. If you’re considering upholstering or reupholstering, speak with Eddie before you do anything else. In addition, his price is very reasonable and his work is excellent. We just saved over $4k over the price of a new couch. A huge bonus for us!"

"Robert Archer came the morning after I spoke to him about the job, which involved area rug and upholstery cleaning. He and his assistant worked fast and did a great job. They were able to almost completely remove stains in upholstery that I thought were permanent. Robert explained everything he did as he went. Highly recommend. We will use him again."

"This company was wonderful! I needed chairs re-caned before the holiday. They responded quickly, gave me a great price to do the work, even made a suggestion to do gluing them as well! Picked up, delivered them for me. Treated my antique chairs with care, and the work was completed as planned, before the Thanksgiving holiday! Would definitely work with them again!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

In Framingham, it’s time to consider an upholstery project if you notice fabric thinning, persistent stains, or fading from sunlight—common with MA’s seasonal changes. Sagging cushions, creaking frames, or loose springs also signal the need for repair or restoration. Most furniture benefits from attention every 7-10 years. Plan upholstery updates before hosting events or during spring for a fresh, inviting home environment.

Helpful?

Upholstering projects in Framingham can improve your home’s resale appeal, especially when restoring furniture in historic neighborhoods. Buyers appreciate well-maintained, updated interiors with neutral, high-quality fabrics. While upholstery alone may not dramatically increase value, refreshed and professionally finished pieces help your home stand out, particularly if you highlight pet-friendly upholstery or period-appropriate restoration in your listing to attract local buyers.

Helpful?

In Framingham, consider the age and style of your home—many properties feature classic New England architecture, so period-appropriate furniture restoration can enhance appeal. Schedule upholstery work during late spring or early fall for optimal humidity control. If you have pets or children, prioritize durable, easy-to-clean, and noise-reducing materials. For basement workshops, ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup and mold on upholstery supplies.

Helpful?

In Framingham, minor issues like small fabric tears, loose trim, or cushion sagging can quickly escalate due to humidity and temperature shifts. Moisture spots or musty odors may indicate early mold growth, especially in basements. Thread unraveling or slight frame movement often precede larger structural problems. Addressing these signs early with professional upholstery repair or annual inspections helps prevent more extensive furniture restoration needs.

Helpful?

For upholstering projects in Framingham, choose materials that withstand New England’s fluctuating humidity and temperature. Microfiber and polyester blends are popular for their stain resistance and durability, while faux leather is ideal for easy cleaning. For historic homes, consider tightly woven cotton or canvas treated for moisture resistance. High-density, moisture-resistant foam and pet-friendly upholstery fabrics are smart choices for busy households and local weather conditions.
