We sustain our business on quality and integrity. We are experts in our trade and our commitment to quality, from beginning to end of your project. We look forward to earning your business. Call us anytime, with any questions you may have. Thanks for your time and have a great day. I know the value of a Home Inspection. (please note: we do not do structural inspections or lead inspections). Also we cannot perform pre offer “walkthrough” inspections due to licensing restrictions per boards of home inspectors at state level.

Omega Home Inspections understands that purchasing a home is one of the biggest investments that you will make. We provide objective home inspections with context to help you make informed buying decisions. Our home inspection reports are computer-generated and easy-to-read that will be made available to you within 24 - 48 hours of the inspection. The home inspection usually lasts about three hours, depending on the size of the home and systems to be inspected. You are not required to be present during the inspection but you are welcome to attend and follow along with the inspector. We are excited to work for you and ensure you are making a sound investment! (We are not structural engineers and do not do structural inspections, nor do we inspect mobile homes.)

"Stuart is professional, thorough, responsive and very knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of our questions throughout the inspection and we left feeling like we had a great understanding of the home we're buying. As for the inspection report itself, I intend to reference it for months and years to come as I prioritize improvements. Stuart was also able to turn the report around quickly to accommodate the timelines of our purchase. I would 100% recommend him to anyone in need of home inspection services."

A home inspection is one of the most critical parts of a real estate transaction. The role of the home inspector is to educate purchasers on the biggest transaction in their lives. Prospective home buyers depend on the home inspector to put home and building criteria into proper perspective so that an informed decision can be made. MA License #787 - ASHI Member.

"Jason showed up early and was extremely detailed on our home inspection. He completed the report with photos of the entire property the same day. He also outlined tasks that need to be done in short and long term periods. We had a really great experience with him and would recommend him to anyone!"

"Mohan was just phenomenal. We called him on a Friday to see if he could do a home inspection for a house we plan to buy. I had difficulty scheduling a time when he and my buyers agent were both free, so Mohan called my agent himself to work out the schedule. Within 5 minutes of calling Mohan, I had an inspection scheduled for the next day. The appointment was for 1pm and he said it would take about 1.5 hours. We arrived a few minutes before 1pm and Mohan had already arrived and inspected the roof — he came early because it was going to rain and he wanted to still safely inspect the roof. During COVID19, Mohan was very clear ahead of time how we were all going to maintain safety. He wore a mask the entire time and had a laser pointer to show us stuff from a safe distance. He took pictures of everything. He explained everything and was so patient with us, especially as first time home buyers. Mohan also isn’t alarmist but still very upfront about potential repairs. For example, Mohan would say that we should replace the hot water heater because of leaking and explained how much it would cost. He also would show us stuff that didn’t need to be fixed now but should be fixed within the next X amount of years. He even showed us preventive stuff - for example, the gutter downspouts were draining right next to the home, which has a stone foundation and can be highly susceptible to water damage. Mohan suggested to buy a dehumidifier and place it in the basement to prevent moisture and prevent damage that hadnt even occurred. The appointment was for 1pm Saturday and by end of the day, I had received a written report of his inspection."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

The only way to determine if you have a radon problem in your home is to have professional testing done. You can buy DIY radon test kits, but these are sometimes inaccurate in certain temperatures and humidity levels, and they don’t paint the entire picture in terms of your radon exposure. Scheduling testing once every two to five years is best. You can also look out for the following symptoms, which, according to the American Cancer Society, are symptoms of radon exposure:

  • Shortness of breath

  • Cough

  • Tightness in the chest

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • Hoarseness

Loose shingles, leaks, and structural weaknesses are typical findings.

A pass/fail home inspection is a type of inspection that a buyer pays for with the understanding that the results will not allow for renegotiation. It’s most common in situations where the buyer waives a home inspection contingency to get their offer accepted when there’s a lot of competition for the home. The buyer will accept the house as-is without requesting repairs or renovations to fix potential issues, or they will consider the inspection a fail and will back out of the deal, losing out on the cost of the home inspection.

You know if you have a skunk hole if you can smell the skunk’s musk. Skunks have a strong odor even when they aren’t spraying due to threats, and you may smell it coming from under a building or another hiding spot, such as a shrub or wood pile. They may also dig shallow holes around a lawn in search of food.

Mold inspections cost anywhere from $300 to $1,025, depending on the type of mold, the extent of the area that requires testing, your location, and the accessibility of the affected area. A mold inspection is an important part of the overall process, helping determine the scope of the problem and understanding the best remediation method based on the type of mold discovered.
