Sam and his team were great. Sam came out right away to give us an estimate for the work. He scheduled us as soon as possible. The team came on time and prepped the space quickly and carefully (they had to move a lot of stuff in our basement!), did the removal, and arranged for the state inspector to do the air quality test. Really, once I called Sam, all the details were taken care of. It gave me great piece of mind. They are true professionals. We would definitely use them again.

Sam responded immediately and came out on a Saturday to give us a free quote following our home inspection. After the inspection, we received an emailed quote the following business day. When we purchased our home, Sam's team came out and performed excellent work. They were in and out in two days with no mess left behind - even though one of the days it was pouring rain. The team was careful to protect the floors and windows of our almost 200 year old home. The job came in under the quoted price, and even though it ended up being a little more work than anticipated, Sam honored his initial quoted price. They took care of all legal requirements and permits, and the quote included 3rd party air testing which they scheduled and conducted seamlessly on the second day of the job. Highly recommend Sam and the team at Dudley Services. Thanks! Amy & Seth

Sam Nigro and his crew from Dudley Services did a fantastic job of removing all of the materials & thoroughly cleaning up afterwards. He informed us about the process, and sent us all of the before-and-after photos and lab reports. They sealed and painted the basement floor, too. I would not hesitate to recommend Dudley Services to anyone looking for asbestos abatement.

Vermiculite abatement, as we learned, is a complicated and expensive process. Sam explained all of our options and his recommendations to keep the costs as low as possible, including available assistance from the state. We had to vacate a portion of the house for several days to accommodate the equipment and the need to prevent contamination. The crew showed up when they said they would and worked efficiently, so we had the space back when promised.

Five years ago my family chose Dudley Services to remove asbestos because they used the glove/bag method along with creating a tunnel to enclose all facets of the job. And the quote was inline with others, even though the other companies did not all offer the two above methods. We were totally pleased with the end result. The workers left the basement cleaner than it was before. In October, 2016, I interviewed companies to remove the vermiculite from my second floor. Dudley Services was the company I chose for a number of reasons. 1. Sam Nigro, the owner, is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and is willing to explain every stage of the job. And he was the only one who informed me about Mass Save's rebate program that began in Oct, 2015, which was a welcome piece of information. I explained that I had sent two samples to WR Grace's trust to see if my vermiculite qualified for their rebate program. Unfortunately, it did not. Sam said that from his many years of experience, he recognized by the appearance and color of the vermiculite that it was not a WR Grace product. 2. Dudley's quote was significantly below that of the other companies. 3. The workers have been with this company a long time, and at least some of them seem to be the same ones we hired for our mom's house. That speaks volumes to the fact that these loyal workers are obviously happy with their jobs and their boss. 4. The workers are polite, conscientious, and easy to talk to. They work continuously and are willing to help with anything. At one point the electrical cord tripped a fuse so power was lost. But a worker immediately went to the fuse box and corrected the problem. They are meticulous with the prep work, the removal, and the clean-up. After the job was done, the upstairs was pristine and I could not find even one speck of vermiculite. After mentioning it on the first day, they remembered on the third day to vacuum up particles that fell through the opening of the sewer pipe in the basement, in the bathroom fan, and in the kitchen light fixture. This company is thorough and puts in the time and effort to do an outstanding job. A great work ethic! 5. I trusted them completely so that I could leave the house if I needed to during the removal. They had keys to my house and always locked the front doors at then end of their day. 6. It is clear that Sam Nigro has trained his workers carefully, and he sets high expectations so that the job is done to the best of the workers' ability. He has been in this business almost 30 years, and his vast experience has allowed him to establish a top notch company. 7. Dudley Services is a company I will strongly recommend to anyone seeking asbestos abatement.

Sam was very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. He answered all of our questions promptly via email and walked us through the process, including permitting and our options for rebates through Masssave and the zonolite trust. His familiarity with the process made everything run smoothly. The workers arrived promptly (albeit very early, before 7) each day and left the house very clean. They covered the stairs and were responsible with our home and belongings. He kept us informed of the progress during the week so we knew what to expect. I would absolutely recommend them for the type of work they performed at our home.

Finding asbestos in your home can be terrifying. Not only do you wonder whether you have been unsuspectingly breathing fibers, but you also wonder whether you've only just uncovered the tip of the iceberg. In my case, I was also terrified that the cost of removing it would reach in the thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. I had images of people in moon suits in my head.
I contacted three of the asbestos removing contractors that are top rated in Angie's list in the Boston area. One never responded. the other sent someone who didn't speak any English (I found this odd given people who need asbestos removed probably have a ton of questions and probably want to ask them in English; still, I know enough Spanish that I was able to conclude that his assessment was the same as the one from Dudley Services).
Dudley Services was, by far, the most responsive and helpful. Sam was wonderful - during his visit to produce the estimate, he took the time to do a really thorough inventory of where asbestos likely was in my home and to explain the risks. He's a fountain of knowledge on asbestos as he's been doing this for thirty years. Maybe most importantly, he got me to stop being so anxious about the whole thing.
There was visible asbestos in a heating vent that I'd noticed while cleaning. He confirmed that there is asbestos on the outside of all the heating vents in my home, but also told me that this is quite common and not a source of concern as long as it isn't exposed and is fully contained in the walls. The asbestos was only visible in one heating vent because it had become dislodged when new flooring was put in. Sam simply covered the whole area in fiberglass sheets, and then on a second visit covered the whole thing with this special plaster/paint stuff (don't know what it was). The asbestos is now fully contained on the outside of the the heating vent again. The air that comes from the furnace doesn't touch it.
I am *extremely* happy with the work that Dudley services performed, and the price was right.

I selected Dudley Services from other estimates because of the time and care that "Sam" put into

the walk through of the area with me. He educated me about the process, and we were able to talk through

work that needed to be done. He noticed asbestos in areas that other companies did not mention. He was professional and responsive.

Since the project involved asbestos, I was not able to see the removal in process. The area was sealed. I greeted the workers,.

and opened the bulkhead. A few hours later, the doorbell rang, and an inspector told me that the company had done a great job, and that the follow-up testing of the air was pretty much perfect. I hadn't even known that the work was finished, or that the inspector had arrived. I had assumed that the work would have taken longer.

The entire experience was a very positive one, and I would highly recommend them.

Sam gave us the estimate and explained the process.  He took care of all of the necessary regulatory paperwork beforehand and helped us with the paperwork we needed to do for our rebate from Mass Save.  He and his employees showed up on time and took care of everything, including arranging and waiting for the air inspection afterward.

Was very accommodating to coordinate with heating contractor who would repair leaking pipes.  Adjusted schedule several  times at my request to accommodate pipe repair and weather.  Gave honest assessment of options for partial or full removal.  Very professional and timely.

We're at that part of new home ownership where you spend money and end up with less of something.  In this case, it was asbestos.  We very recently bought an 1886 Victorian, and before any real work could start, we needed to get rid of the asbestos.  The seller's realtor recommended Dudley Services, and when I met Sam, I liked him so much that I didn't even get any other bids.
Sam must have spent an hour in the house with me, going through not just the basement, but every closet.  We knew the pipes in the basement were wrapped with asbestos, but we were worried that a lot of the old floor tile was also asbestos because our inspector had warned us that it could be.  At sight, Sam said he thought that old tile in those closets (and under the attic rug) was probably too old and would have pre-dated asbestos tile.  He took samples of that tile, and even got a crow bar to pry up some (non original) wood flooring in another room so he could see what tile had been used in between.  (The kitchen of this house had -- no exaggeration -- four layers of flooring, and Sam got samples of each.)
The tile samples came back negative, so the only asbestos was in the basement.  The pipes had been covered with a dropped acoustic panel ceiling, and Sam was going to have the crew remove that so they could get to the pipes.  By the time we were able to schedule the remediation, though, we'd had those ceiling tiles removed by a demolition crew, so Sam generously agreed to give us a break on the bill, since his prep time was going to be a bit shorter.
Sam arrived exactly on time for the estimate, provided the estimate quickly, got the permits as quickly as is legally possible, his crew arrived exactly on time on the day they'd scheduled for the work, and were exactly on time the second day, too.  They finished mid-afternoon on day two, as scheduled, and the crew walked me through the basement to show me the work they'd done.  The basement was cleaner than I'd ever seen it.  There's a pretty nasty paint smell in the house right now, from the paint they spray on the pipes to seal them, but I'm sure that'll be gone quickly.  (It's not surprising that hot radiator pipes would have a smell with fresh paint on them.)
This was worth every penny.  Now we can start spending money adding things to the house, not just removing them.

Dudley Services was recommended to us by the contractor who was installing a new HVAC system.  We needed to move asbestos wrapped pipes for our air return and, aside from calling Sam at Dudley, called a few other places for a quote.  Not only did Sam respond almost immediately, but he came by quickly, provided a written quote quickly and gave us schedule openings before any of the other companies had even gotten back to me – further his quote was the lowest received.  Sam walked us through the permitting and hazardous material process (we have young children, so this was important) and answered all of our questions and inquiries promptly, and usually within the hour.  Dudley called to confirm the night before our scheduled abatement, and the guys were there at 8am (as promised) the next morning.  The process was completed on schedule (2 days) and come in on budget (including the air test required by law for sign-off).   I would highly recommend Sam and Dudley to anyone thinking about getting asbestos abatement.
