"Wow, Pat and his crew are amazing! Had him tear out fiberglass insert and do a full tiles shower, walls and floor. A+. Very punctual, clean, detailed and straight forward. You would be crazy to use anyone else. He also laid tile down on the floor as well and gave me some free tiles he had from a previous job at no cost!"

"Allen tile did a fantastic job. I am so impressed with the hard work put into this job. The tile looks absolutely gorgeous! All the work that was done was completed to perfection. I was also comfortable leaving Kevin in my home when I was gone which was a huge plus to have someone you can trust. I would recommend Allen tile to anyone."

"Chris did an amazing job removing old tile around our 3/4 fireplace then prepping and putting new tile around it. He looked at the job and gave a quick estimate, made great suggestions and recommendations. We knew right after meeting him that he was the guy we wanted doing the job then we saw his estimate which sealed the deal. He gave us a great price compared to several other companies we got estimates from and he did amazing work. I would absolutely hire him again and would recommend him to anyone. You won't regret hiring him!"

"Velasco tile just finished removing an old cast iron tub and installing a new modern shower. Velasco did a great job dealing with all the issues when doing any improvements in an old home… Their suggestions were spot on in choosing the different tiles and the modifications that they made to make it all work. They also were able to do the work while we were away on vacation so accommodating…Velasco also coordinated work that needed to be done with an awesome plumber…we strongly recommend Velasco tile…."

"Fraser Tile renovated my bathroom with actual tiles which looks amazing. I did not want to hire a company that puts up sheets of vinyl and are gone in a day like the commercials you see 5 times a day on TV. This was real tike not some backer board faux material."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Professional installation ensures a uniform, durable surface, and proper sealing, and guarantees workmanship quality, preventing future issues linked to water damage or instability.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

It’s best to install a shower door after the bathroom tile is in place to ensure you have accurate measurements. If you try installing a shower door first, the tile might be too thick to install afterward, or the tile will be too thin and create a gap between the shower doors that allows water to leak. With the tile in place first, you’ll know the exact shower door size that you need.

Yes, but you’ll have to use some other type of tool to avoid damaging the tile and possibly injuring yourself. Some alternatives to tile cutters include a glass cutter, angle grinder, and wet saw. Depending on the tile material, you might simply be able to measure and score it with something sharp, like a carbide-tipped pencil, and break it off. Be sure to sand the edge for a smooth installation.

Grout and caulk are commonly used together, especially in bathrooms. Grout goes between the tiles and keeps them sturdy and in place on the walls or floor. Caulk goes in corners or where two different materials meet (like where the bathtub meets the tile) to create a waterproof seal. However, they are not interchangeable—you shouldn't use caulk to adhere tile and shouldn’t use mortar if you need a waterproof seal.
