"We cannot recommend Joe enough!! We reached out for help on a Wednesday night at 10:30pm to a couple tile installers and Joe immediately responded and was at our Diner on Thursday. Joe stayed very late to help my Husband install the tile, penny tile and mosaic we had. We hired him for a couple other tile jobs at the Diner and he will be our “go to” and who we recommend!! Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic. 

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

It’s best to start with tiling the shower floor before moving on to the walls for the most visually-pleasing results. When taking on any tiling project, you’ll want the wall tiles to “sit” neatly on the floor tiles rather than overlapping them.
