"If you are considering working with any company, especially when investing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, I recommend taking the following precautions: - Consult an attorney: Have a lawyer review the contract to ensure it is mutually protective and fair. - Get the warranty in writing: Ensure that any warranty or guarantee is documented in the contract before signing. - Verify insurance coverage: Get in writing proof of insurance for all contractors and subcontractors before signing any agreements. - Watch for red flags: If the company belittles or dismisses these precautions, take it as a warning sign. A reputable company will understand and respect your due diligence, especially since they drafted the contract. - Do thorough research: Conduct a comprehensive web search, including the company name, the owner's name, and terms like "lawsuit," "Better Business Bureau," etc. to identify any potential concerns. - Document: Before any work begins, take clear photos or videos of the area and all property involved. Continue documenting during the project to help prevent disputes about what transpired. - Trust your instincts: If concerns about workmanship, quality, etc. arise early in the project, address them immediately. It’s often better to cut your losses and move on rather than continue investing in a project that may not meet your expectations."

"Lou, Andrew and Lordes were amazing people to work with. We would highly recommend Ranieri Construction to anyone needing pool or decking work. We feel our pool is all set now...better than new!!!! Everyone remarks how nice it looks. Ranieri Construction went above board to meet our needs. They were prompt, always here when they said they would be and continually kept us in the loop of what they were doing and why they were doing it."

"Ferrari Pools is everything you DO NOT want in a pool company. High prices, shoddy construction, promises at the beginning and reneging at the end (“oh, we don’t do landscaping, we don’t do this, we don’t do that,” even though they said, “yes, yes, yes” from day one). The list of grievances is long, but I’ll discuss just the big ones. Our pool was incredibly expensive and looked pretty good. In just a few years, everything is falling apart. Another pool company has said the pool of this caliber and price should last 15-20 years. Ha! The spa tiles have had to be replaced to the tune of thousands, and the new tiles don’t match the pool because the original style was discontinued in a few short years. The actual shells of both the pool and spa are hollow and certainly should not be. It’s a matter of time before something gives way. It’s a waiting game. The decking area (quite large) is collapsing because there is no concrete underneath, as there should be. The heavy tiles are held up by dirt only, which doesn’t support the weight. Without doing the entire thing over, we are in a patch, repair, and wait game. The weight of the tiles covering the auto cover is too much and causes pressure on the auto cover, which has had to be replaced once to the tune of thousands. We have been told that those thick tiles are too heavy and are inappropriate for that use. The retaining wall is collapsing on the back side. A previous review of this company prompted a written response to the review asking us to give them an opportunity to look at the problems and do reasonable repairs. It promised to get in touch with us and did not. It was our first pool and certainly our last. We learned many painful lessons. I believe this is what happens when money, not reputation, is the most important thing to a company. We would never recommend this company."

The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.
Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.
Adding a spa to a pool is worth it if you use it enough. Adding a built-in spa to an inground pool can cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on top of installing the pool. A separate hot tub costs between $5,000 and $8,000. These prices will vary depending on the hot tub's size, type, and features. Additional costs include maintenance, electricity, and plumbing.
From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
