"Let me begin by thanking Jacob and his crew. Jacob was called to clear backed-up sinks, toilets bubbling and a backed up washing machine. He responded immediately and we made an appointment for the very next day because he didn't want us to be without plumbing. The best types of piping for underground main water lines are PVC and PEX pipes because of their ability to be buried and withstand high levels of water pressure. PVC and PEX pipes are resistant to rusting and corrosion, which makes them ideal for transporting water. Copper is another efficient type of pipe for underground water lines because of their resistance to rusting and leakage. Again, copper pipes are on the higher end of the price range.

Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.

The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

It usually takes between 30 minutes and one hour to repair a leaky faucet, but if you hire a plumber, they’ll often charge for one hour minimum. However, this time period is entirely dependent on the type of repair you need. Some complex repairs can take several hours to complete.

In the best-case scenario, the pipe size is written on the side of the pipe. You’ll often find this with different types of plastic piping like PVC, PEX, or CPVC. For other types of pipes, you’ll have to measure. You can measure the outside circumference with a soft tape measure, then divide your measurement by pi. From there, you’ll have to use a conversion chart to get the nominal pipe size (the size you’d buy in the store).
