"They were very professional, personable, and clean. They wore shoe covers in the house all times. Explained things as they were happening and offered great advice. One of the better plumbing experiences iv ever had. Would definitely recommend them and use them again."

"Replacing the ductwork went great, really. Surgi's was conscientious to schedule the work so that we would be without A/C for a minimum of time (one night) and had the system partially running for us on the second night. By the third night, the whole system was blowing and we were very happy. The only weak part of the process was communication beginning from this point of the project, to the finish of the job. The crew had requested that I be present at the final point to balance the vents, so I waited for them on the morning of the 4th day for this (as instructed). They didn't appear, so I called the office and was told that they were on another job and my last day of work had been rescheduled to several days later. On the next appointed morning, I waited for the crew, but again they didn't appear. Another call to the office let me know they had been delayed by some unexpected problems at another job. So the communication wasn't perfect, but this is a minor point, as the system was working very well, and they made a special point to come finish my job after my second delay. I gotta say that they did a great job. I had to go under the house just this morning to check a plumbing configuration for a minor remodel and I was really impressed with the new ductwork from Surgi's. The ducts are very solid and they guys planned and organized my new system very well. I'm also really happy with the whole-house air filtration unit they installed along with the new ducts. I researched it online beforehand and Surgi's gave me a very good deal. Overall, the quality of work has made Surgi's the only company I would ever call in the future."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use your steam shower to take regular showers and steam showers. Many people opt to use a regular shower daily while using the steam shower less frequently when they have more time. Keep in mind that after you take a steam shower you’ll need to run the fan longer than after regular showers to avoid mold and mildew growth. You’ll also need to clean your shower more often if you’re using the steam function.

No, shower valves and cartridges are not universal. They must match and typically come from the same manufacturer. Mixing and matching different brands is unlikely to work and can cause issues like leaks or malfunctioning faucets. To find the correct replacement, check the old valve or cartridge for a brand name, model number, or serial number. If you cannot find this information, contact the manufacturer or check their website to determine which parts are compatible.

Some water leak detection devices use apps to make it easier to detect underground water leaks in your home. For example, you can find smart home technology that contains sensors for tracking and detecting water leaks the moment they arise. These sensors pair with an app on your smartphone to alert you of any plumbing leaks fast.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.
