Options were spoken of and seemed good, and he contacted a supplier by phone to find out if the double sided coal basket was available and a custom one could be made.
He went up in my attic to look at my hvac problem also. Gave me some verbal recommendations from what was visible without the unit on long enough to see the water leak. He looked at the outside unit, too.
I think the visual inspection went well, but not worth the $169.00 fee.
The estimate for all fireplace work was emailed and a follow up phone call made to let me know the estimate was sent, but for removing the couple dozen bricks from my fireplace the estimate was far too high @ $900.00.
And I thought the remainder of the estimate to prepare the opening and place the ventless coal basket inside was also too high @ $2250.00. The price of the basket itself was acceptable, custom made with shipping included.
I wrote back that I thought the estimates were too high, and asked if he determined where my fireplace chimney was sealed, but did not get a response. I called to get an hvac estimate sent and have not heard back.

My vehicle was sideswiped and towed to Clean Fleet for repairs. They have done flawless paint and body work for many, many years, and have done work for family, friends, and neighbors with no problems. I talked to Sean and Brandt in the front office and explained exactly what i wanted done to my vehicle. 45 days later they called me and said the work was complete. I returned my rental vehicle ( which was being paid for by the party at fault ) and got a ride to their location. I got there close to their closing time, and drove my vehicle home to my garage. I later noticed a puddle of oil, looked underneath and found a bad shock ( they had changed all of the driver's side front end parts but that. The next morning i had the vehicle out in the sun and i noticed only half of the hood was painted, the dent from the accident was painted over, not repaired, and paint chips were painted over. The whole truck cab was supposed to be painted, only 1/3rd was done. The front grill was loose and vibrating. The new driver's side mirror can't be adjusted and is useless. The driver's side window rolls up hard. My truck cap, which was 3 days old before the accident, had sratches from the accident that were not repaired, and new ones from the body shop. The brake lights, and the dome light in the truck cap no longer worked from them removing and reinstalling it. I called Brandt at Clean Fleet, and he said, bring it back and we will drop everything and fix it. I made a list, on paper, so they wouldn't forget all of the things they were supposed to fix and dropped it off, now with no rental vehicle because i returned it. 8 days later they called me to get my vehicle, and told me they stayed late so i could get my vehicle, it was getting dark again. The next morning out in the sun i noticed the cab was not painted, the grill is loose, the driver's side mirror is useless, the shock is bad, they said it had to go bad on the way home from the body shop, and they would change it for $160, the truck cap lights don't work, and the window rolls up hard. I loved getting my vehicle repaired at this shop in the past, but there is a MAJOR disconnect between the front office and the body shop. I will have to bring my vehicle to another body shop to have the work completed. Now I'm out of repair money, and a rental vehicle. I don't want to use them again, and i can no longer recommend them to anyone. The management doesn't care evidently. They do not use nail guns, which is a very good thing for my roof, since the decking is not plywood - there are cracks between the boards (a nail from a nail gun could go right through a crack). Also, not using a nail gun, you know when a nail went in a crack, so you can plug the hole and nail slightly above or below that point into the decking. If that?s not done, the nails tend to pop up later causing leaks (more on this point later). Anyway, I signed two contracts ? one for the roof and another to replace the gutters and some rotten fascia in late 2009. Dave said the job would take two days ? it took over 3 weeks. The roof was to be a 30-year roof with metal valleys (12? valleys like the ones that were there). The materials were delivered by Home Depot, which I found odd for a contractor, since I as a homeowner had purchased the materials 25 years ago from a roofing supply company when I replaced the roof myself. The correct shingles and tar paper were delivered, nothing else was correct. Wrong valleys, wrong flashing for the gables on the garage, and most importantly the bundles of ridge caps only carried a 20-year warranty. I called the manufacturer and confirmed that they did have (and recommend) a 30-year ridge product for the shingles I specified. I called Dave about this. His response was that he always used 20 year ridge material on 30-year roofs (no reason given) and that he forgot to write that in the contract. He said the 30-year ridges would be $800 more, which I reluctantly agreed to. The first day, 4 roofers showed up (usually there were only 2, and they never showed up before 11:00 am). One roofer (I?ll call him the head roofer) tells me that Dave is on vacation in Tennessee and gives me his cell phone number in case I have any problems (more on this later). I was amazed at the end of day one at how little they had done. Throughout the job they continually papered over broken board, which I had to repeatedly tell them about to make sure they would replace them before they were shingled over. Also, the head roofer continually tried to talk me out of the metal valleys ? he wanted to weave the shingles, using shingles for the valleys. I?ve seen that done, but that?s not what I paid for. Also, after they had covered the roof with tar paper, we had a light rain one night. The ceiling in the living room was stained. No biggie, I painted over the stain with Kilz. One day, my wife happens comes home from work early. The gutters are almost completely up, the rotten fascia has not been replaced. The guy refuses to stop working, and tells my wife that replacing the rotten sections of fascia was not in the contract (it was). I tell her to tell him I?ll be there in 10 minutes. He leaves. Another call to Dave. He comes back a couple of days later, and replaces the rotten fascia and puts the gutters back up. I?m not happy with the gutters either. In some places, he masked poor cuts in the fascia board with white caulk. The clips that hold the gutters to the fascia in some places are screwed in almost at the bottom of the gutter ? unbelievable. Lastly, while these gutters are larger than my old gutters, the old gutters had nice size oval cut-outs for the downspouts. This guy cut out a small circle ? just a few leaves and the hole is blocked. One night, my wife and I hear a motor running. The head roofer is parked in my driveway. He?s there for almost two hours and then leaves. No idea what that was about. Fast forward to September 2010. There?s a leak in the back bedroom that made a large stain on the ceiling. Called Dave, he could not find the leak, but states that he will have one of his men seal the area. I?ve taken pics, and await the next big thunder storm. We?ve only had a couple of light rains since then. Fast forward to Saturday, 10/30/2010. There?s a leak outside by the kitchen door. I get up on the ladder, the valley was cut too short, and water is dripping behind the gutter. I check the other 3 valleys ? all cut too short, but the other 3 have a short piece of valley (2 inches, maybe) slid in under the end. I also notice that quite a few nails are popping up, and the bricks on the front of the garage are stained black, I get up on the ladder to check that out, and find there?s a 5 foot section where the shingles don?t overlap the edge, water is leaking behind the gutter there too. Call Dave. He comes out and tells me that if its any consolation, the crew that did my roof no longer works for him. I tell him its not. I cannot believe he put a new crew on my roof and takes off for a vacation in Tennessee! He tells me he?ll get Pauli to fix the problems with my roof the coming week. The solution is to remove 4 rows of shingles from the garage and to go up 4 feet on either side of the valleys and put a 4-foot section of valley in place that does overhang the edge of the roof. Pauli will also take care of the nails popping up. Last Thursday I get home from work to find someone has delivered two 10 foot sections of drip edge, a roll of flat galvanized sheet metal, two tubes of caulking, one bundle of shingles, and the wrong valleys (narrower with a raised piece running down the center). Incredulous, I call Dave. Yes, he himself delivered the material. Obviously not enough shingles to do the job as discussed, and I ask why the drip edge? He?s changed his mind on how to handle the garage, and will install drip edge instead. I say no way, reason being a drip edge would cover the screws holding the gutter in place ? making replacing the gutters at a later date much more difficult."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/la/metairie/clarkson-construction-llc-reviews-8264759.htm"},"position":10}]}

FAQs for chimney cap service projects in Folsom, LA
Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
