In October 2016 Mr. Darrell Hall came to my home and gave me a price to repair a portion of the soffit for $850.00. When the workers started into the soffit they found that a spot/piece of the sheeting was rotten and added another $675.00 to the cost of repairs. They said the job was completed the next day. Well in February 2017 I noticed the soffit was leaking water again I had another person remove the singles that Able Construction said they replaced and found the sheeting had never been replaced that Able Construction was paid to do. I called Darrel Hall back. He came out looked at it and took pictures, he said he would see that I received my money back. I have had one email reply from a Mr. Richard Cooper but he has failed to contact me about settling my problem. I have yet to receive my refund for work that was never performed. I would not recommend this company to anyone for anything! 13 Mar 17.

Able Home Improvements charged me $5,188.00 for a job that other plumbers later told me should have cost $2,500.00 maximum. However, they were the only company that we could find to come out during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend for our plumbing emergency. Additionally, upon subsequent inspection by other plumbing professionals, I am told that the work performed by Able Home Improvements' plumbers was well below industry standard in nearly every regard. Lastly, it took five days for the plumbing job to be completed, which by all accounts should have been finished in no more that 6 hours. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Please steer far clear of Able Home Improvements.

Installers were prompt and worked efficiently.  New installer needed a bit more professional training, since he asked if he could smoke an e-cigarette inside.  When I said "no", he was polite and smoked outside.  At least he asked.  Installers looked a bit "rough" but they wore company shirts and did a good job.  My only problem with this company was that their hours were inconvenient, although they made arrangements to be open when I requested.

It was OK. The gentleman they sent out  was very nice but I think they send out different people to people who get the big deals. It took significantly longer than it should have. He had a breathing condition and it was difficult for him to do the job quickly so I don't know if I would necessarily consider that company again. I don't want to say anything bad about the company because he tried to do his best. They painted one bedroom and maybe a couple of parts in the hall. I'ts a small condo so it's not a big area. There were no additional charges. It was never an issue with the time that they came. There wasn't anything wrong with the paint job.
Response from Able Home Improvements
"Thank you for taking the time to review our company. I am a bit confused as to why we were given a c on price when you purchased a special big deal coupon."

Started off great with everything being demoed the 1st day which was great. The head contractor said it should be done the following Wednesday ( project started on a Tuesday). From there things were okay at 1st. But come to find out after asking able if they contract work out they said no but worker crew leader stated he was contracted out. His dad confirmed this as from time to time he helped out. Able denied this. Main reason I choose them was no work I thought was contracted. From there the work days got shorter and shorter. Arrived usually between 7:30-9:00 am and left usually around 2-3 pm with a minimum 1 hour lunch. One day worked for 2 hours and left to buy more nails and took 95 minutes to return. I timed them. Wrong crown molding supplied from able from what was requested so we had to pay an additional $300. Two and a half weeks after start date the drywall was completed. Next was the install of the floor which was a disaster. It went okay at first but they did not have enough wood so had to wait on the rest to be delivered. Once finally installed in was sealed and polyed. This was wrong as it was to be stained to match the rest of the house. Head contracted assured me it would darken overtime which was a lie. So contacted able and spoke to the Forman who was assigned to my project as the project manager. When commented about short work days he said he was there everyday and never noticed them leaving early. However when mentioning the dissatisfaction of the floor along with displeasure is some other aspects in the room and being pretty upset Darrell the project manager, who stated he was there everyday, said had he known this was going on he would have had it fixed. He said he was unaware and I should have called here. So I needed to do his job and he was worthless. Floor had to be sanded down to the wood and refinished with sealer stain and poly. Well to say it was a disaster would be an understatement. They did not seem to known how to use a machine they had to rent from Home Depot as many swirl marks were left behind along with scratches from going against the grain. They then proceeded to stain it after getting assurances that the imperfection we noticed where taken care of before stain and poly applied. When they we not and they did not sand all the way back to the wood as the stain went on very streaky and blotchy. This was done on the 6th of October when the contract they gave us that they wrote guaranteed to be done by September 28th. After speaking the owner expressing my anger and asking for a discount as this project was still imcomplete and passed the completion guarantee. He said no as he was already over budget and he was going to take lose. None of which was my fault. He sent a new guy to strip the floors again and get the right such I the third try was done. They tried to charge me the remaining balance without a walk through which I requested and after seeing the problem still remaining had a guy come and get the floor right along with the rest of the problems. Closet door do not and have not ever shut. A handful of other things were left undone and on Monday the 3rd of November 2 months after the start. Would not let Brian's crew or able to remodel a doll house my worst enemies house. Don't let Darrell be your foreman either as he is pretty worthless. Sorry for any spelling or gramatical errors as I am still to angry to proof read this post.

A week project took three weeks. Three times people scheduled to come but didn't show up or call. Some work had to be redone. We had plenty of visits from supervisors. Ultimately the work was finished to our satisfaction.

The representatives of this company were extremely professional, polite, and responsive. The estimate was done very quickly and was completely free. During the insulation work. which was started only a day or two after we came to an agreement on the price, the foreman, who had given us the estimate, stopped by to see how the job was going. The electrician, who came later the same day after the first crew had completed the insulation work, was extremely courteous and helpful. He fixed one issue in the house and diagnosed another (ceiling fan needs to be replaced), letting us know what types of ceiling fans would and would not work and other helpful hints. While there was one miscommunication, the problem was quickly addressed. We really appreciated the communication and courteousness of this company, and we will definitely call them again for various work and repairs around the house. It sounds like there is nothing they cannot / will not do! Highly recommended.

I used them for a couple of jobs as I got my house ready to sell.  The communication was not good throughout the process and I had to call back several times and make scheduling corrections and get more details about who would be responsible for what.  That was frustrating.
The flooring in my living room was a thin wood floor that had too many scratches and I was replacing it with laminate to improve the look of this large area before the house went on the market.  Anyway, I explained that it was glued down and asked questions about how they would tear it out, etc.  Then the workers get there and I get a call that "the floor is glued down!".  They tore it out, but it took time and effort.  And it was a mess.  I'm glad I didn't try this prior to moving out of the house.  But they got it done and put down laminate and that looked good for the most part.  Except for they did not replace any of the transition pieces.  Once I saw the "completed" job with no transitions, I complained and they put down some, only it was an ugly job with transitions that did not match the flooring.  Just obviously mismatched junk from leftover pieces they had laying around or something.
I guess it was a mixed bag, the laminate floor did look good in the end, but communication was terrible and it took many visits (time off of work for me) to get the job done.
I may use them again in the future, but they won't be my first choice.

$700

cabinets:

tried to change price or would not do work, after paying agreed price of 200 dollars. Wanted 600 to 700 dollars more

After several months they agreed to install plywood shelves only if I bought the wood, finished it and installed the shelf supports.

There labor took only one hour 15 minutes.

Floor thresholds between floors of different heights:

Installed four t-moldings that are too high and rock. We continue to trip on them. They say there is no fix. also molding of two

different colors have been installed.

Response from Able Home Improvements
"Customer provided all materials to be installed. We installed per manufacturers specifications and have explained this multiple times. To change the configuration of the customers cabinets would require a carpenter and additional materials that were not part of the original contract. The bottom of all the cabinets were completely rotten and required them to be reframed which we did at no additional charge to appease this customer. The customer purchased wood that was thicker than his ceramic tile and expected the transition to be completely level, we installed the transitions provided by the customer and assured him this was the industry standard. I feel this review is very unfair to my company."

We  selected them because of their Angie's List rating. They were extremely unprofessional. Workers wouldn't show up when they were supposed to and then showed up when they weren't supposed to. This was one case where "the customer was never right." Owner terrible to deal with. Workers told us that company was having difficulties finding and keeping contractors.

She came in, painted, didn't spill a drop of paint anywhere, was neat and proficient and left. That's all I can say. I would definitely use them and recommend them. I was a little surprised that it was one painter and it did, indeed, take her all day to paint.

When the painter arrived I asked him if he would be able to finish the room in the 8 hours that was paid for and he said, "no problem", He did take a break for lunch ( I paid for his lunch) and at 5:15 he tells me he wont be able to finish. I tell him I am upset and don't understand in that he said he could finish. He promises me that he will come back on Sunday(it is Thursday) and finish on his on.He says that he will be back at 9:30 Sunday morning and that he will finish. He doesn't come back. I call the company on Monday and the owner tells me he will take care of the problem since his employee shouldn't have made that promise to me. An appointment is made for another painter to come out on Thursday, the 19 and the job is cancelled on the 18th by a message to Angies list to say that the contract was fulfilled. I feel like I was lied to twice!!!!! I was left with a bedroom unfinished and after being stood up twice was offered a chance to pay a painter $120 to finish the job! I refuse to pay more money to a company that is this dishonest!!!!
Response from Able Home Improvements
"The contract was for a painter for 8 hours, my painter worked for 8 hours and provided a quality job. Unfortunately the job could not be completed within this time and we offered another huge discount to resolve this. We cannot function as a business giving away free work as this customer is expecting us to do."

Richard and Darrell did a great job with a home we purchased that had major termite damaged, they re-framed the whole front, built a new platform, re-painted the celling, and walls of the entire house. They also installed new windows, toilets, front and back doors. The cost also included granite counter tops, redoing the staircase rails and spindles. We had numerous sheetrock damage and repairs done in the home,  the house looks 100% better since all the work has been done and on time.  They worked Monday thru Sunday for three weeks to get to where we?re at now. We have slowed down due placing new cabinets, this was anything with their quote we?re doing this one ourselves and floors. Thanks Richard, Darrel and crew!!

We are very pleased with the service provided by Jennifer through Able Home Improvements. She arrived promptly on Monday, November 11th at 9:00 a.m. Although I had not made a final decision on the colors, she proceeded to prepare the rooms for painting.  After some discussion, I purchased the paint and she began. Jennifer was very meticulous and precise with her work.  She was courteous, insightful, friendly and timely (she completed the job on November 15). I appreciate the care that she took with the job as though she were painting her own home.  She also took time to clean up after herself, and left things very orderly.  If I ever hired Able again, which is quite possible, I would definitely request Jennifer first. She actually LIKES to paint.

The painter arrived 30 minutes late but was prepared for the job. She came in and  got right to work. She laid the drop cloth to protect the floors and painted my children's bedrooms with two coats of paint and did all the trim. We were informed that because of the type of paint on the walls we would need two coats and my husband was able to go out and purchase more. The painter worked for the eight hours and did a great job. This was done through a painting coupon offered by the company. I would read the fine print because it only covers two rooms in the house, which I was unaware of. I was told this by the painter I didn't see it in the description of the service.
Response from Able Home Improvements
"Thank you for this opportunity, The painter for a day covers any painting below 10 feet high for 8 hours minus a standard lunch and breaks. If your walls required multiple coats to do a professional job this would keep them from being able to paint additional rooms due to the time limits. I will call you to see if this was indeed the case. We look forward to working with you more in the future."
