PK Heating and Cooling & Home Improvement is built upon a solid foundation of years of Technical Expertise. The owners and the technicians have been in the business for many years, serving the Centerville OH area.

"Complex job changing from 2 old furnaces to one fuel efficient one, and a new water heater. The job involved moving ductwork, gas line, water line for the humidifier The job took 4 days instead of 2 or 3 as planned, but same price. The guys were fun, pleasant and cleaned up well. They explained each step clearly. The price included"

We have been in business since 1987, provide heating and air service and installation for all of the top brands. We are the #1 Frigidaire dealer in the Tri-state area! We are also a Heil, Goodman, and American Standard Dealer. Licensed and insured you can feel safe in knowing that your home is safe with us. We can honor the factory/manufacturers warranty on over 25 top brands, just contact us for any warranty questions!

"Avoid Floyd’s Heating and Air LLC. At first, Josh and his team were friendly, but when issues arose, their professionalism disappeared. After installing my HVAC in early 2024, they did a pre-summer check-in and assured me everything was fine. Days later, a severe leak from my attic unit caused water damage. It required lots of time, visits, multiple repair attempts, and when we were finally almost done: one of their techs put a foot through my ceiling. Rather than handling the issue directly, Floyd’s forwarded me to their attorney without notice. They originally promised not to bill me for all of the failed repairs, then billed me over $1,200 months later. Worse, they still refuse to reimburse me for damages unless I signed an NDA—a shady and unprofessional move. It’s been almost a year, and Floyd’s has done nothing to make things right. Avoid them at all costs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

To make the most out of your AC, consider implementing the following best practices:

  • Choose the right size AC for your home to ensure your unit runs as efficiently as possible.

  • Choose a window with shade, as direct sunlight can cause your AC unit to overheat.

  • Clean or replace the filter at least every two months.

  • Inspect the AC’s fan and straighten it if necessary.

  • Discontinue use immediately if you suspect a malfunction, as running the AC while broken can lead to significant issues.

  • Turn off (or adjust the temperature) when you leave the house.

Most HVAC companies recommend against setting your AC below 70 as it could freeze up the system and cause more problems. Regardless of how hot it is outside, there is generally a 20 degree difference between the outside and inside temperatures, so even if it’s 100 degrees outside, your AC will likely not be able to cool your home to 70 degrees.

A new HVAC unit typically adds about $2,500 to $3,000 to the value of your home or about 5% to 7% of your home’s value. Since a new unit can cost up to or more than $10,000 to install, it’s up to you to decide if the upfront cost is worth the added value. Consult a local AC installer to determine next steps.

For washable or electrostatic air conditioner filters, you can soak and rinse them with water. If you rinse the filter with water, make sure to use a faucet, shower head, or garden hose with a gentle water pressure setting, as strong water pressure could damage the filter.

But for disposable filters, water could ruin the filter, even allowing mold to grow in the filter. Instead, these filters should be replaced.

The cost of a new HVAC system is roughly $7,500 but will vary by the type of HVAC unit and the size of your home. If you only need to replace your AC, it can cost between $2,200 and $5,500; replacing your furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000.
