Tom returned my call right away and scheduled a time to come and look at the job that needed to be done. I had a quote for the work that evening and the price was what I considered reasonable, especially for the work that needed to be done. They replaced the old flooring, installed a new toilet, and put down fresh linoleum. They did a beautiful job and had it complete in no time flat! "This man hasn?t had a review since 2020 for a reason. SAVE YOUR MONEY! This man has great workers but is unprofessional himself. He?s added on additional cost for things we had already paid for & argued with us we didn?t even when his workers mentioned that we did indeed already paid for the material as well as labor. We paid for doors within the contract as the basement finish & he said we didn?t and that the finish was just muddying the drywall & we would have to pay for doors and labor to put them on. After we signed the contract with doors included and I paid $1260 for the finishing phase. He?s only on time to collect money & nothing else. He threatened to quit in the middle of the job after I had to argue that I paid for light fixtures and he refused to even consider that I did even when my wife as a witness stated we did. When he threatened to quit I said what about the rest of my material and what I paid and he stated well you got some of it. BAD FOR BUSINESS & WE HAVE PROOF! "

After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours, grouting and sealing can be completed on day three. For larger projects or intricate tile patterns, expect the timeline to stretch a bit longer. Also, proper drying time between steps is essential for long-lasting results, which extends the project’s time.

It’s best to start with tiling the shower floor before moving on to the walls for the most visually-pleasing results. When taking on any tiling project, you’ll want the wall tiles to “sit” neatly on the floor tiles rather than overlapping them. Finishing your floor tiles first will allow you to place your wall tiles without any gaps, holes, or awkward intersections.

The number of shower niches you need (or want) depends on the size of the shower and how many bathroom products you plan on storing. If you keep it simple with just soap and shampoo, the one shower niche will probably do the trick. But if you’re adding scrubs and soaks, you may need to think about installing two or more.

The tile spacing you should use will depend on the tile and where you’re installing it. Choosing the right tile spacers to maintain a consistent gap between your tiles is tricky. Generally, tile spacing shouldn’t be less than 2 millimeters on walls and 3 millimeters on floors because of stress relief requirements. Getting it wrong can result in uneven tiles and early repairs.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.
