"We have some rental lots and we had been using another company for septic/plumbing issues but they have been getting hard to schedule, etc. Called this company today and they were out there within 2-3 hours and pumped the tank for a reasonable price. They also determine there was a clog in the line that needed to be cleared caused by tree roots, etc. They were able to get someone out there immediately and clear the pipe with a pressure cleaner, again for a reasonable price. Fantastic customer service and everything was explained up front. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Give these guys a shot because I'll be calling them the next time I need this type of service.

Ohio Valley Pure Water Systems, Inc. has been known around the greater Cincinnati eight county tri-state area for over 30 years for its wholesale pricing and excellent service. What makes water softeners different from each other?\n \nFive things: size, resin, carbon, valve and warranty.\nSize: The amount of resin in the filter bed will determine the size (how often it backwashes) which will determine how much salt and water it uses. For examples, our in-stock water softeners come in a 9x48 32,000 grains (1 cubic foot) or 10x54 48,000 grains (1.5 cubic feet). Other size water softeners can be special ordered.\nResin: The type of resin will determine if it is manufactured for chlorinated or non-chlorinated water. 8% Cross-link resin is formulated for cistern/well water that has no chlorine in the water. 10% Cross-link resin is formulated for the city/country water that has chlorine or chloramines in it. If you use 8% Cross-link on chlorinated water, it will ruin the resin within a year and void your warranty.\nCarbon: Does your water softener contain carbon and if it does, what type of carbon is it, how often and how much is it to replace? Is the carbon mixed with the resin or is the carbon in its own filter housing? The reason you want a whole house carbon block filter is to protect the resin from being damaged which will add years of life to the water softener. It also removes any odor or smells in the water which are NOT removed by water softeners. By separating the carbon from the softener as we do, it becomes cost effective to maintain even to the point where the customer can change their own carbon filter if they choose.\nValve: Is it a timer, digital or metered? The timer valves is the least expensive option of the valves because it backwashes every 2 to 3 days whether it needs to or not. The digital valve is the more expensive because there are no moving parts. When the digital valve has a problem you just simply replace the mother board, which is very expensive. The metered valve is the most popular because it counts the gallons of water first before backwashing. Also, they are very cost-effective to service when you do have a problem.\nWarranty: Nobody offers a lifetime warranty including parts and labor, so don't be sold by the hype. We offer an honest 10-year warranty on everything except for the metered valve. The metered valve comes with a 5-year warranty. The first year parts & labor are included. After the first year, the customer just pays a small service call fee. The only 3 things that can void your warranty are high water pressure (over 80psi), freezing of the water softener and using 8% Cross-link resin on chlorinated water..

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

It’s unlikely that hard water on its own could cause substantial hair loss or damage, though it’s true that bathing in hard water can cause your scalp to feel itchy or flaky and might dull your hair’s natural shine. Using high-quality shampoo and conditioner or buying a whole-home water softener can decrease these issues.

Experts recommend that you put two to four bags of potassium chloride in your water softener every month. This amount depends on how much is in the bag (40 pounds is most common) and what your water softener manufacturer recommends. For more specific advice, talk to a water softener pro in your area and read the manual that came with your system.

A single shower consumes an average of over 17 gallons, while brushing your teeth with the water running uses up to four unnecessary gallons. Watering the lawn spreads hundreds of gallons of water across the yard each time. Limiting water usage in these areas can significantly cut down your water bill.

Yes, you can have both a water softener and a water filter. In fact, some manufacturers sell dual water softening and filtration systems that treat hard water and provide clean drinking water. If you’re unsure about what you need or want to discuss your options, reach out to a local water softener installation company.

Hard water is not considered unhealthy and is safe to drink, cook with, and bathe in. It doesn't pose a risk to your physical health and can even help you get enough essential minerals like calcium in your diet. However, it can negatively affect skin and hair. Using hard water for washing can contribute to dry skin, an itchy scalp, and may worsen conditions like eczema by altering the pH balance. Additionally, some people do not like the taste of hard water.
