Hired Jabara's to recarpet sitting room after another provider did an unsatisfactory job. Jabara had previously redone our master suite with superb results; I specified "exactly the same carpet and pad" but chose a different color; emerald green versus the deep blue-green in the master suite. (I know these are not stylish colors. My house, OK?) We put the emerald green color sample on the sales guy's desk and watched as he noted its name and color code. Then I signed the work order, admittedly without inspecting it, and awaited a nicely renewed room. During installation the new carpet seemed more blue-tinted than I remembered. I put it off to the vagaries of human color perception and the very warm ambient light in the room. Then when it was all done I tossed some leftover scraps in a nook next to the master suite. Holy cow! The new carpet really is blue! It's the same color as the bedroom's carpet!! OMG, as the kids say these days. I fetched the color sample from Jabara's. Hypothesis confirmed: WRONG COLOR CARPET. Oh, my. I showed this to the installers, who called Jabara's. The upshot is that the salesman, recalling my statement "exactly the same carpet" but not the new choice of color, put the old carpet's color on the new work order. Just one of those moments of humanity. Jabara's mulled this over a few days, then proposed to replace the carpet in the correct color at their expense but asked me to pay for the installation, since I didn't catch their error until after the installation was complete. I politely disagreed, feeling that the salient phrase here is less "I didn't catch" than "their error." I am not employed as their quality control agent, and I think I am entitled to an expectation of an error-free product delivery. In other words, I bought their quality control as part of the deal and was not negligent in passively expecting it without providing oversight. After a little more discussion wherein it became clear Jabara's wasn't going to budge, I decided the money for the installation (I think $135) wasn't that huge, taken in perspective, and agreed to the deal. Jabara's ate the cost of all that lovely 75-oz Mohawk. Jabara's took over three weeks to get the new carpet, but once it was in installed it the next day and did a good job. The installers did neglect to vacuum the room after installation, leaving the floor covered with thousands of yarn snippets. Not a big deal, I have a perfectly good vacuum cleaner myself, but below the standard I expected and a detraction from my first impression of the recarpeted room. That quibble aside, the installation itself is very good. So, why the "B?" I've had a lot of various courses in customer service and quality and such, and have owned small business of varying successful. There's always an exercise about "if a good provider screws up but tries hard to fix it right, have you received good service?" Hard to answer in general. It comes down to (a) what was the degree of negligence or ineptitude, (b) how severe was the error within the perspective of the service and outcome, (c) how happy am I with the final outcome compared to the expected outcome, and (d) did the provider's response/recovery rise to a level of effort appropriate to the problem? In this case the final outcome is not as good as it would have been without the error and recovery: I'm down $135 and a day at work, plus frustration and annoyance. So Jabara's gets a "B" on this one despite the fine quality of the carpet and perfectly competent installation."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ks/wichita/jabara%27s-carpet-outlet-reviews-6293819.htm"},"position":2},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Budget Blinds","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"KS","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Teresa G."},"reviewBody":"The Hunter Douglas shades were installed by Budget Blinds east, owner Jerry. We had them installed years ago, but unsure of the date because BB did not keep any records which then somehow became our problem because we are now having to pay to get an all new shade due to it being broken. We were originally told it was covered under warranty. The shade broke at the top so that it would not stay on track and would slide out and hit the wood cornice, damaging the pleated fragile shades. This occurred years ago, guesstimating 3 yrs. ago. I called numerous times, no return call after leaving messages. When I finally reached someone, they were rude and unhelpful and told me I would have to take them down and bring in. I gave up as these are large fragile shades and I never got a call back. In the meantime, I just avoided opening the blinds often, which was inconvenient. It got to the point where it happened alot, off track and hard to keep centered and damaging the shades as they hit the wood sides. I placed a clip up on the track that helped somewhat until it kept coming off. The shades/blinds just needed fixed. I called BB, owner Jerry came out to look at them on 9/4/2013, saw where it was broke and said he would contact the company and that it would be covered. He did not take the shades down. I explained to him that I tried a few years ago to get it fixed and told him of the poor, rude service and no return calls. He said we would hear back soon whether the blinds could be fixed or whether new ones would be needed. 3 weeks went by with no call back from Jerry or BB so I called to find out. I called numerous times, left messages. Nothing. I called every day asking for them to call back. I finally got a hold of Hannah and told her of my blind problem, no word back and needing to get fixed. On 9/26/13, 2 men came to take the blinds down and they stated they would be fixed and brought back in 1-2 weeks. 2 weeks go by, no word so I call again, left messages, no reply. I get in touch with Hannah and she looked into it- still taking days and me calling to get info. I expressed to her numerous times that I wanted Jerry himself to call me so I could talk directly to him, she gave him the message several times and he refuses to call me back. Hannah told me that the blinds could not be repaired, we would need new and because BB did not keep my records and there was no sticker on the blinds that should have been on there from the company and/or BB ( again not my error/problem), I would have to pay full price for the new blinds. I was very upset, saying not fair, none are my errors, all BB and I was told no charge, under warranty. I asked again to talk to Jerry and explained I was very upset and thinking of contacting The Better Business Bureau and Angie's List. She conveyed this to Jerry, no return call to me. I told her I was not going to pay $500.00! After days and numerous phone calls and waiting again on my part, she called back and said distributor brought price down to $256.00. I told her that BB being a separate company and having made several errors on records and with poor customer service (should have been fixed yrs. ago when I first called!), should pick up the rest of the cost so it could be taken care of at no charge as I was told it would be. She said distributor mentioned wear and tear, well, it was from being broke years ago and smashing against the wood, that couldn't be controlled. The rest of the blinds are fine. I kept having her tell Jerry of my dissatisfaction and to have him call but he simply will not call to talk to me. This has been going on for weeks, I have non room darkening shades so have poor sleep since 9/26 and they are basically holding my blinds for ransom because I was told today that they could bring out the broken blinds to put back up or I had to pay the $256.00 to get new. I do not understand the unfairness of this all- terrible customer service, total disregard, owner does not care enough to call customers back knowing they are not happy, charging money when it should all be covered and the 2 reasons it is not is from errors from BB and/or the maker. Today, I told Hannah that I need blinds in my room, that this has been a several years long ordeal and I just need them so since I have no choice but to be forced to pay when totally not right, that I would pay but I was very disappointed in the company and that I would be contacting several people about it. I expressed again that I did not understand why Jerry would not ever call me back himself to discuss this. Although at this point, he would say the same thing-pay or no blinds. This is the worst experience I have ever had, just ludicrous on the number of calls I had to make and the time I had to wait to hear back and now I have no clue on how many more weeks or months I have to wait on these new blinds. I will never do business again with them and I would recommend using any other company with a better reputation. The customer service was nonexistent. This has been totally unfair and very exasperating! FAQs for bird control service projects in Sedgwick, KS
Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:
The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.
For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.
Animal removal specialists specialize in removing critters and wildlife from in and around your home. These include:
Bats
Birds
Groundhogs
Moles and voles
Opossums
Mice and rats
Raccoons
Skunks
Squirrels
The specialist's method to remove these critters will depend on the animal. For example, groundhogs will be live-trapped and relocated, whereas, for birds, the expert will remove and discard the inactive nest and sanitize the area.
Professional animal removal costs between $200 and $600 for average homeowners. However, depending on the type and number of critters removed, this cost could range from $85 to $1,400.
This cost does not include the cost of home damage caused by the animal, which could be as low as $300 for minor drywall repair or as much as $15,000 for crawl space cleaning and restoration.
Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.
