When asked if they could service our 2004 Monte Carlo Dale Earnhardt Jr Special Edition they indicated that they could do so. Our Service Representative, David Quinn, was and is very helpful and professional--and honest when I brought the car in with several indicators illuminated the first time. As it turned out, the problem was not major and all was well. That was about a year ago and we have been having our oil changes and tire rotations done through their shop ever since. We use synthetic oil which adds to the price of the oil change and rotation. I do find that their service seems a bit high, but sometimes that's okay if it is done properly the first time. I usually just drop the car off and they will drive me home right away. They will also pick me up after the car is completed if I need that service as well. I can definitely recommend Benny Boyd's service department in Bastrop, TX for more than just your dodge vehicles. Use with confidence. I explained that I would have to have the truck hauled to their location, 40 miles from our farm, just to have the diagnostic to be done, then wait for an opening for a schedule to have the truck fixed, not providing any type of standard estimate of what that type service 'usually' costs and how it could vary, high or low. They treated me like I knew nothing about the truck or mechanics. They failed to understand that this was not one of those 'its making a funny noise, can you see whats wrong with it' type calls. He came out and took the back of it and he said several things and one of things he said is that, ‘there was nothing to clean because it is an electric unit’, it had a blower so he said it is $50 to have the blower cleaned. My unit is old so he also said, ‘I saw a duct tape with the wiring and all of that stuff holding together’, and I know you use electrical tape and not duct tape. I have an old unit so I keep talking about replacement and things need to be done and ask for reference and he gave me his mother in law’s number and it is their work phone number and I am nurse and I am not going to call a nurse at work. I had to have my work done on the blower and I asked specifically about the duct tape in my unit and it is a electrical tape and there is no duct tape in there and I didn’t have insurance plan that covers the service and I thought I will pay for the normal maintenance instead I felt like I paid $40 for a sales call as he didn’t do anything. He is very congenial and very nice. It was a total waste of my money and time. I didn’t get anything for my money except for a sales pitch. He inspected and found something wrong like a duct tape in there and that was an electrical tape or at least he should have set up an appointment to fix that. It is really hard for me to look at it and when I had another service man come in I asked if any duct tape is in there and he said there is an electrical tape. He was dishonest. UPDATE 2/1 - The bid to repair my wheels is $832.94.

UPDATE 1/31 - It cost $318.23 to have the Corvette's suspension realigned correctly and repair the car's real starting problem (which reasserted itself four times).

UPDATE 1/29 - Chevrolet called me today, as promised. They regret sincerely that, Parks being an independent owner and franchisee, they are unable to assist me directly. They did suggest I let them call Parks on my behalf; I responded that since Parks has now lied both to me and Chevrolet (see note of 1/25) this was no longer a matter of incompetence but of dishonesty, and under those circumstances Parks could not be trusted with the car under any conditions whatever, without regard for whomever might be looking over their shoulder - you can't supervise honesty into a liar. Chevrolet then offered me a $100 service credit letter good for thirty days. I thanked them for the gesture, but pointed out that as current estimates for repairing Parks' depredations run $800 to $1500 (not counting the time I spent cleaning my upholstery and carpets) and, further, since the credit was only good for thirty days and the Corvette would require no further services for about six months, it was just that - a mere gesture. Chevrolet then thanked me for my loyalty (we've bought 11 GM cars since 1948), in return for which I thanked them for 64 years of good cars but regretted that they must now understand that the era of my buying GM products was now closed. In this time there are enough good cars out there, and service standards are high enough, that it is not necessary for me to stand for what Parks and GM have just done.

UPDATE 1/25 - Spoke with customer rep at Chevrolet Motor Division. Individual at Parks who told me he was Service Manager - William Moore - is not the same person Chevrolet says is Parks' Service Manager. Parks Service Manager (I suppose the real one) told Chevrolet I had refused to let them examine the car. I filed formal incident, Chevrolet promises to follow up with me.

UPDATE 1/23 - Met with Parks service manager this evening. Examined car closely under my guidance. He claimed to have my letters but did not know my complaints. Refused to answer why he never answered first letter. Offered to redo disastrous suspension alignment in their own shop but refused to pay for having it done by a competent third party. Denied they damaged my wheels/rims. Appeared totally disinterested in all other complaints.

A total disaster from beginning to end. Worst service and workmanship I have ever received from any car dealer.
Chronology
On around December 10th I contacted Parks Chevrolet for a quote for a set of tires for my 2005 Corvette. On Parks? satisfactory offer I ordered the tires and also scheduled some other services: a suspension alignment, turning the two front brake rotors, an oil change/lube service, and repairing the unreliable left front tire pressure monitor. Parks told me they though they?d have the tires on about the 27th of December, so we scheduled the car into their shop on the 27th with me to call them on the 26th to ensure readiness.
Parks? quote on the suspension alignment was over $180, where the customary rate is about $85.
When I called Parks on the 26th they seemed confused about the tires. I was transferred twice, then told they were having difficulty locating the shipment. I was transferred again to another person who told me they?d located a supplier for the tires and had just ordered them.
Parks called back the afternoon of the 26th and changed their tire story several more times. It being clear Parks would not be prepared to work on the car on the 27th as scheduled, I asked them to call me when all was in readiness.
On around January 1st the car would not start and on January 3rd it was towed to Parks for repairs. Parks recommended a tow service and suggested I deal with them directly, saying it?d be much more economical. The car arrived at Parks about 9am on the 2nd. Then rather than letting me pay the tow service in the expected pre-arranged manner, Parks paid them, telling the tow driver they?d bill it back to me. Their bill-back was an astonishing $116 for an 8-mile tow.
While the car was being checked in the service advisor excused himself without explanation and left me standing alone at the service counter for around fifteen minutes. While standing there I noted their price board showed Parks? fee for a 4-wheel alignment job to be $85 (contrary to their $180+ quote to align the Corvette). Eventually, though, we got the car checked in.
Parks then called me the morning of the 3rd ? 24 hours after receiving the car ? and told me they had the starting issue in hand, and also that my tires had just arrived. I authorized the remainder of the scheduled work. They stated the starting issue would only take about an hour to fix.
Parks then kept the car for six full days without contacting me. The work scheduled would have taken most shops about half a day. The evening of the sixth day Parks had the car they called to say it was all finished except the suspension alignment, and that it was first in line for that job the next morning.
The next morning, the seventh day they?d had the car, Parks called and said they?d be a little late, as their staff had ?overlooked? the repair of the tire pressure monitoring device on the to-do list. In restating the issues the same man then said Parks had overlooked ?some things? on the list of services to be performed.
The car was finally delivered to me the evening of January 10th, the seventh full day Parks had kept the car.
Catalogue of Workmanship Defects
Parks? workmanship is the second worst I have ever experienced at any GM dealership. 1. Oil Change & Lube Service 1a. Oil-life-remaining indicator not reset to 100%. 1b. Dipstick (manufactured curved to fit into curved tube) forced into its tube rotated 180 degrees. 2. Left Front Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Device Replacement 2a. Left front alloy wheel profoundly toolmarked around valve stem. 2b. <deleted by submittor> 3. Starting Issue 3a. Parks said this was due to a loose positive battery cable. When car was returned the positive battery terminal shield was off the terminal and tucked to one side, leaving the terminal and nearby cabling exposed. This is a very dangerous condition. 4. Tire Installation 4a. All four tires overinflated: one by 10%, one by 13%, and one by an amazing 17%. No two tires were inflated to the same pressure. 4b. All twenty chrome lug nuts marked and blackened as by use of air wrench. 4c. Cost: $5000. I paid Dave $2500 when the material arrived and the remaining $2500 upon his so-called completion of the work. After Dave got his money, he was done with doing any work I had issues with... $5000 is a lot of money for me to save.2. I have a 10' easement @ the back of my property so the fence posts needed to clear 10'. They were not and the City Inspector gave me a warning to get it fixed. I gave Dave all the paperwork from my site lot showing the 10' easement, the paperwork from my HOA showing the 10' easement and stressing verbally the 10' easement. When I found the warning from the City Inspector, Dave hesitated to fix it. The City Inspector advised that Dave tried to "make a deal" with him claiming that he was new to this area when he was fully aware of the 10' easement. So Dave came back out and cut down the old posts, dug new holes and created more dirt that I had to remove. Now no grass with grow over the old cut down posts...3. Dave advised he would throw the dirt from the posts around my fence. He acted like that would be a small amount of dirt. He did not ask if I wanted to have something done with it. I had no idea the amount of dirt thrown around my fence. Again I have a new house and newly installed sod. The amount of dirt thrown up against my fence was 8" tall and 1 foot wide mainly along the back of my fence. I told him the dirt needed to be removed as it was up against the wood and was killing my grass. His comments were "I didn't charge you for removing the dirt..." I worked for three hours in the heat removing all the dirt as it was right up against the pickets which is not good on wood and it was killing my grass.4. I specified 5' gates (60") as I'm getting older and may need a lawn service or my sons to take care of my lawn someday. I measured each gate - one is 51-1/2" = 4' 3" and the other is 53" = 4' 4", neither one is 5' or 60". I again told Dave of my findings... He told me he made them wide enough for a riding mower. I told him my son's mower would not fit in the gates and his comments were "I can't believe it won't fit through either gate, really". I didn't contract with him for him to decide how wide to make my gates. I specifically contracted with him for two 5' gates. Dave told me he would make me a deal. He would remove the dirt and make me one 5' gate... I said, I only want what I contracted for 2-5' gates. He told me that he made them as wide as he could without a metal frame and that would be an additional $300, but he agreed originally to 5' gates prior to getting his money.5. I marked all the sprinkler heads with flags so no damage would be done to any heads. Dave advised no damage to any heads, but that was false as two heads had to be repaired. Also the flags I used to mark my heads were borrowed from my son. Dave took the flags so now my son will have to purchase more flags to replace the original flags. 6. The pickets were so close to my house that not even a piece of copy paper would slide in between. Again I told Dave of this situation and specifically said not to damage my siding. He came out and one side was fixed, but the other side not so much... There is a cut in my siding approx 7" long and the post next to it is cut jagged. Nothing, not a word was mentioned of this damage. I now have to fix this cut in my brand new siding and clean cut that post as well as paint approx 7 places where each piece of siding was marred due to him getting that picket to clear my siding.7. There are many nails and screws that were installed, but are too long and now the points are protruding. I have grandchildren and one of them could catch their fingers or arms on those points. My friends could get scraped on them as well. I will have to back those out and put the correct length back in the posts/pickets. Something more I will have to hire down or fix myself.8.I wanted to schedule a time to meet with Dave in person about the cut in my siding and the 5' gates. He told me he was on vacation for the next two weeks. I said then I want to meet that next Monday after his vacation and that he damaged my property. He wanted the specifics via text, but I wanted to meet in person. I told him that I didn't want him on my property unless I was home. He texted me verbatom, "not sure why we need to meet..." Then again, he says verbatom, "I don't ever intend on stepping foot on your property again. I have tried to be nice to you, but I won't stand for it anymore".I really did want to settle my disputes with Dave, but when he replied as stated above, my question, was "how old are you?" That really didn't sound like a supplier who is interested in making things right and whole... I have decided to let the gates remain @ the width they are due to if they are built wider, new posts will have to be dug and the old posts will be cut off and no grass will grow over them... so I didn't get what I paid for. I have to make the repairs on my siding, brand new siding or hire someone to do the work. I had to remove all the dirt which took three hours and it was hard work. I will have to back out all of the too long nails and screws and replace them with the correct size or hire someone to do the work. I really did trust Dave and I'm quite disappointed as after he got his money, I was a nuisance. He didn't even try to work things out with me. He talked badly about a customer to me and I was quite uncomfortable about that. I'm sure he's talked about other customers poorly as well. I gave him the job because of his ratings on Angie's list, but I sure wish I would have seen the report on May 17th "buyer beware"... If I would have seen that post I never would have done business with Dave. I wasn't going to post anything and let this whole thing go, but I keep hearing all the Angie's list commercials and I feel compelled to tell my story."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ks/valley-center/all-around-fencing-co-reviews-372475.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"APEX BUILDING INSPECTORS","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"KS","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Chris C."},"reviewBody":"We had Mark Melzer come out and do an inspection on our new home. He was early to the appointment and went ahead and started inspecting the roof and exterior. He was quick to answer my questions concerning the current state of the property and also some tips for what I could do to reduce risk of basement flooding or excessive heating/cooling bills. Other inspectors I've worked with went after ticky-tack items (ex: garage door sensors being 4and quot; too low) while missing big concerns. Another simply just missed big items. That is where it ends. They have HORRIBLE customer service. You never talk to a person, you always leave a message, and if you are lucky, someone calls you back. While they are working on your pool, they leave you notes taped to your windows or house- and don't call to make sure you got them and/or understand them. Did I mention one of these notes was duct taped to our NEW sliding glass doors? Not acceptable.
Next, after we had a problem with our automatic cover- that we had told them on numerous occasions was a recurring problem- they refused to cover it under warranty because they "didn't work on that part"-- but they replaced the entire cover and installed a rebuilt motor, so how this was their response, I will never understand. This was less than 60 days after they installed it. Getting them to come out and look to see why we were having the problem was worse than pulling teeth. We called 5 times before they would fix them problem, and another 5 times before someone would call us about the bill we received. By the way, they think their service is worth $95.00 an hour. I don't even pay my Heating and Air guy that much-- and he answers the phone each time I call!
If all you want is to have the work done and never see the people or have it serviced again, these are your people. If you are looking for a long-term relationship with your pool service, keep looking!
UPDATE: 6/4/12: When we first tried to open our pool in May, we were unable to do so because the motor we had bought from them was no longer working. After having an electrician look at it, the motor was found to be bad. We called to get warranty work done, and they REFUSED. We had to go to another company and buy a NEW motor (another $1,500.00 to fix a problem they should have been responsible for). We are happy with the new motor purchased from another pool company.
FURTHERMORE, our liner is pulling away from the side and sagging in FOUR spots. The largest spot, is a 5 inch long gap that sags about 3/4 of an inch down, exposing the metal backing. It looks horrible! The other three spots are not as big, but it is only a matter of time until they are. With our last liner we only had problems with sagging after 8 years of use. That is reasonable-- 9 months is not-- espeically when you consider many of those months were winter months when our pool was clsoed! We called again asking for WARRANTY work, considering we have not even had this liner in for a FULL YEAR, and were again DENIED. Apparently they do not warranty their workmanship. If the liner was fading or something to that effect I could get it replaced by the manufacturer, but they do not cover the poor installation of the liner. I ask you, when have you bought a product where the warranty by the manufacturer is longer than the workmanship warranty!?!? If I had been told this in the beginning, I would have never used them. That is such a RED FLAG! If you aren't going to stand behind your work, why should I choose you?
In my first response, I did say the work was done well and that was my only satisfaciton with them. Now that I have these problems not even a year later, the work is no longer worth the money I gave them.
As for the response by the company, it is mostly unfounded. We called them MULITPLE times for fixes that WERE their problem. We did not pay our ENTIRE bill until this work was completed becuase we know first-hand what happens when you pay a bill IN FULL before the work is satisfactory--the work is never finished or fixed. In the position they put us in, the remainder of the bill was our only leverage to make sure we had the work completed.
Check our profile, we give favorable reviews for comapnies that EARN them. We do not give them to companies that do not. If you do decide to use them, I wish you luck, I know that I did not have any...
UPDATED 7/11/12- We did file a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. This was over a month ago (6/4/12), and we have not heard ONE thing from them. They are obviously not going to stand behind their work, and we are going to have to go elsewhere to get our pool liner fixed so it doesn't look like Billy Bob put it in on his first day on the job. SO disappointed- in fact, that doesn't even begin to describe it. I feel used and taken advantage of. I spent WAY too much money with them to have them act like they owe me NO WARRANTY or SERVICE. It is also important to note that they were not even willing to come LOOK at the problem to determine if they were responsible without charging me a trip charge- so they have not been out to look at it- I shouldn't have to pay a trip charge for that!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ks/towanda/little-richard%27s-pools-and-spas-inc-reviews-444997.htm"},"position":10}]}

"This company was extremely efficient from the secretary who answered the phone to the dispatch of a person named Jeremy the next morning who arrived on time as scheduled. I was requesting an estimate to replace my main water line because I had no water pressure. Jeremy quickly assessed my problem and suggested we bypass my 24 yr. old water softener. When we did that I had all the pressure I needed. A reasonable diagnosis fee was less than $3,000.00 to replace a water line. I would recommend this company to anyone."

FAQs for heating oil service projects in Peck, KS
To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
