I would love to give One Source Home Services a 5 start rating, but I can’t. They might be OK for heating, cooling, etc., but not for sewer line replacement! There are several reasons. The job took much longer than expected. It should have took a week, two weeks at the most but it took them almost two months! Even though they had to go from my house to the sewer main in the middle of the street, the project started August 12th, and it was October 8th before they got done! It took them about 3-4 days to just do from my house to the edge of my property, then I had to wait almost two weeks for them to start the repair to fix the pipe from the edge of my property to the main sewer line. That took them about another two weeks. The City Inspector said that they should have been done in one day…two at the most. My street was blocked off during this entire time. Needless to say, my neighbors, trash trucks, postman, Amazon delivery service, etc., was very inconvenienced. Even though I had paid about ¾ of the money up front, they did not even apply for the city permits until August 20th. It was September 24th before they patched the street with asphalt, and October 3rd before they replaced my sidewalk and front step! It was October 8th before the left over asphalt and concrete was picked up and the barriers removed. Second reason: I think they way over-charged me for the project. My fault, I usually get two or three bids, but I was in panic mode to get the job done as I was having synthetic turf installed. Many friends, neighbors, etc., said their price was way high. I paid almost $22,000.00 up front, then owed another $6145.00 when the job was completed. They did give me a $1500.00 discount when I tried to get them to forgive the $6145.00 because of their lousy service. Also when digging the trench from my house to the street, they were supposed to have laid down plywood sheets to place the dirt on, but they just put it on my lawn. They then pushed a lot of my sod back into the hole they just dug instead of the dirt they removed. By doing this, it made the turf installation a lot harder on the turf crew. After filling in the hole from my edge of my house to my property line, they just left their Bobcat setting in my yard for almost a week. The employee who came to pick it up is the one that told me that they should have put down plywood first. They also broke my front step, which they acknowledged, but it took them almost two months to replace it. Most of their employees worked hard, but without mentioning any names, the guy running the excavator talked constantly, not about work, but other stuff, and many times he just quit working so they (the other workers) could hear what he was saying. I am serious, I know that is one of the reasons it took so long! Even a neighbor committed on how much he talked! Ray and Brian were super hard workers. Also two trailers and vehicles had expired license plates. They failed inspection one time on the line from my house to the edge of my property…had to redo a section of it. They brought the wrong size pipes for the project several times. They also dug the hole from the edge of my property to the main sewer line without having a city inspector present, which was a no-no. The city inspector told them someone should have been here the whole time they were digging that hole because of the main water line and my gas line was in the same area. They also nicked my gas line, but they did not contact the gas department! They failed inspection and had to redo the tape they used around the gas line. Also they left the hole (about 9 to 11 feet deep) uncovered for about a week, until the city inspector told them they were supposed to cover it each night with metal plates! I have pictures with dates to prove the above comments. Please don’t pull a Rick and hire this company! Do your homework and know that this company is not the one you want to use for your sewer line replacement!
