"Fast response after submitting problem. AC unit details were too faded to read so Carl came by to give find out what parts would be needed and give a estimate the same day. His estimate was lower then I had expected since it needed more work than past repair work. He showed up the next morning on time (actually early) and had the AC going before the day got hot. His price ended up on the low side of his estimate. And having it repaired within a day was a added bonus. He also removed spice lines and went direct, and made sure to replace the capacitor to insure proper compatibility. I have found my new HVAC repair person."

"I called for a Summer tune up,ended up I needed a new A/C unit, because the unit had leaks. He explained what caused the leaks. He gave me the replacement cost and time to replace the. Yes, ventless portable air conditioners exist, and not all standard portable air conditioners must be vented through a window.

Ventless portable units, often called evaporative coolers, do not have exhaust hoses. They use a water reservoir and a cooling pad to add moisture to the air, making it feel cooler. These units work best in dry climates because humid areas cannot absorb much additional moisture.

For standard portable air conditioners that do require venting, a window is not the only option; they can also be vented through a door, wall, or ceiling. For example, recharging refrigerant lines should take one to two hours to service, while replacing a compressor, blower fan, or other major components can take five to eight hours. You can ask your AC repair technician how long they expect the job to take, but just in case, you should plan on being home and available for most of the day.

There are many signs of a bad AC fan motor, including if the fan blades don’t spin when the AC kicks on or if they keep spinning when the AC is off. The AC fan cools down the condenser coil, so a faulty motor can also cause the system to overheat. Unusual noises in the exterior AC unit, including grinding or rattling sounds, may also be a sign that the AC fan motor is worn out.
