"What was originally thought to be a grout problem was found to be a substandard job by a previous contractor. Craig and the Creative Tile team were amazing from helping identify the problem to developing and installing an amazing solution. The team of people working for Creative Tile were amazing. From demolition, to building the foundation for the new floor, to installation of the tile, and finishing the job; it was a true pleasure to deal with the team. We now have a bathroom that I consider showroom quality. I will use Craig and Creative Tile for all my future tile jobs."

"The job went fantastic. They were punctual, professional and affordable. I highly recommend them for basement finishing. They did the framing, electrical, and drywall. My husband and I did all the trim work, wainscoting, and light fixtures. Someone else installed the flooring. They were finished in three weeks time. Unfortunately I could not get my photos past the framing to load."

"I went on Angie's list and found Able's Drywall. He was able to come over the same day and when he saw that the job was pretty small, he said he could come back over later in the day to fix it up. He was punctual, friendly, and professional. The drywall still looks good a year later."

"He showed up on time. Seemed sort of grump, but got right to work, and did a decent job on the bathroom except that he soaked all my remaining cat litter ("I thought that was something different") while trying to unplug the sink and didn't offer to replace it. Nor did he clean the grout well. And from what I can see today, the rest of the place was not done as well as the bathroom . I contracted for a deep cleaning at their $300-for-2000-sq.-ft. "claim this deal" price, and had to borrow to do it. . I warned their office person up front that I had roaches and the place was dirty--I'm very ill & confined to a wheelchair, and have been in and out of the hospital--but it's only 548 sq. ft. and they didn't have to do all of it. The job that was done was a mediocre regular cleaning at most. So I'm not thrilled. (Oh, and if I hadn't caught him, he'd've thrown out all my flour and rice and such that was in bags on the kitchen counter. He did pitch out my olive oil. And at the end he left a leaky wet bag of trash on the newly mopped floor and asked me what I was going to do with it. I told him _he_ was going to take it out, and mop up after it. He did, but it dripped on the hallway rug.) . As I told the office lady, I'm up against a HUD inspection, and they're tough. It wasn't an utter disaster, but I needed better than this."

"Great! I gave instructions of the work requested online at the time of purchase of the "Big Deal". They arrived and did the requested work without any further contact. Getting the project completed was nearly effortless for me and they were cheaper than the other estimates that I'd gotten."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.

One major drawback of a concrete tile roof is that the material is heavier than most other roofing materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll need structural reinforcements for your home before you can install the roofing material. Concrete tile roofs are also twice as expensive as asphalt shingle roofs, so even though they last much longer, you’ll see higher up-front costs and lower overall value from concrete roof tiles.

Replacing tile flooring can take a few days for a pro, but larger rooms will need more time. It takes eight to 12 hours for a tiling pro to remove old grout and tiles across 100 square feet. Then, it will take about four hours to prep the subfloor for tiles and another eight to 10 hours for a pro to install new tiles. Your tiling project may take up to a week, depending on the size of the room.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.

The best trowel for penny tile is a 3/16-inch-by-5/32-inch V-notch trowel. Because of the small size of the penny tile, you want a trowel with small notches that can lay a thin layer of mortar on the surface you’re tiling. If the notches are too wide, you risk applying too thick of a layer of mortar, and it can squeeze out between the penny tiles.
